* Music lyrics and music videos that promote negative stereotypes and violence
* Marketing of unrealistic beauty standards through fashion magazines and the beauty/diet industry
* Media’s sexualization of young female performers/celebrities
* Media’s failure to promote more strong role models for girls in sports and other male-dominated arenas
* Sexist, exploitative content and/or potential predators on the Internet
* Not enough kids’ books with feminist/progressive messages and diverse characters
* Media and popular culture’s focus on money and consumerism
* Increased presence of advertising in media, at school and other public spaces
