Adios, America

Looks like Republicans have caved and joined with Democrats to approve the acquisition of the U.S. to Mexico.

Key senators in both parties announced agreement with the White House Thursday on an immigration overhaul that would grant quick legal status to millions of illegal immigrants already in the U.S. and fortify the border.

Of course, they toss in the “and fortify the border” to make it look like real immigration reform. That’s like putting a deadbolt on your front door after you’ve been burglarized. Nice goin’, guys.

I guess Congress figured they represent their voters.

Hundreds of illegal immigrants have registered to vote in Bexar County in recent years and dozens of them have actually cast ballots, canceling out the votes of U.S. citizens, 1200 WOAI news will report Thursday morning.

Figures obtained by 1200 WOAI news shows 303 illegals successfully registered to vote, and at least 41 cast ballots in various elections.

Trying to preempt criticism from conservatives, Republican Arlen Specter, said, “It is not amnesty.”

Silly me, how could I ever construe a bill that would “grant quick legal status to millions of illegal immigrants already in the U.S.” as amnesty?

New Demographic in a Liberal Lead America

As recently as 1980, the share of minorities in each generation varied by only five percentage points or less.

According to the latest figures, 80 percent of Americans over age 60 are non-Hispanic whites, compared with only 60 percent among those in their 20s and 30s, and 58 percent among people younger than 20.

Politically older white people (read: baby boomers) mostly focus on rights for blacks and women for America, setting the stage for a younger, socially conservative Latin and Asian population.

These numbers may exclude the approximate 12,000,000 illegal Latin immigrants.

does anyone here remember we live in a republic? and that the electoral college votes in the leaders based on a system that groups votes into districts, and that the immigrants if together will represent one district and if spread out among 300 million would be a drop in a salty sea…

most people arent too good at strategy or tactics… they tend not to see how things blossom out. the skewing mentioned above actually translates to less of an effect since the effect is already happeneing!

the point is: what if they really do take this as an agreement to close the border and lock it down? wouldnt it be the dems hoisted by their own petards?
