FIRE needs your help
Each summer, bright and enthusiastic undergraduate and law students from around the country participate in FIREÂ’s Internship Program. These interns assist with crucial aspects of FIREÂ’s work and also enjoy educational programs, including presentations from FIRE staff members and associates. Yet students often say that their favorite part of the program is building relationships with others of different backgrounds and beliefs.
In many cases, FIRE interns return to their campuses and educate other students about intrusions upon their rights, thereby attracting a coalition of support, changing the campus culture, and gaining national attention. A donation to FIRE not only supports the experiences of FIREÂ’s summer interns, but also helps change attitudes toward liberty on campuses across the nation.
Your donation also supports many other FIRE programs, including our vigilant defense program, which, this spring, successfully defended the freedoms of San Francisco State UniversityÂ’s College Republicans, UCLAÂ’s Objectivist Group,
Central Michigan UniversityÂ’s Young Americans for Freedom, the University of Rhode IslandÂ’s College Republicans, and
Colorado State UniversityÂ’s entire student body.
Your support also will help us grow our recently launched program, the Campus Freedom Network (CFN): a dynamic coalition of faculty members, students, and administrators who work together to more effectively defend individual liberties on campus. Together we can change the culture on campus and show our nationÂ’s colleges and universities that Americans believe that students and faculty members have a right to basic freedoms.
