The Betrayal of America

Just before the 2006 election, I predicted (among other things) that without the slim Republican majority in the House of Representatives, amnesty for illegal immigrants would soon become a reality. “If Democrats take control of the House,” I wrote, “that barrier will vanish like mist, and the Democrats will have a flood of uneducated, largely ignorant new low-class workers to turn into good little Democrat voters, all demanding a piece of the government pie.”

Six months later, here comes the amnesty. Although the remaining Republicans managed to write increased border security measures into the bill, no one is naive enough to think they won’t be simply ignored, just as they were in 1986. The “one-time” amnesty Ronald Reagan signed was also supposed to result in tighter border controls… which the Democrat-controlled Congress simply “forgot” to fund. So twenty-one years later, here we are again: facing another “one-time” amnesty, with promises of more border security we know will not be honored.

This compromise will cut the 850-mile border fence the President signed into law just before the 2006 elections — of which only two miles have yet been built — to 370 or so miles. Anyone care to place bets on how much of even that shortened fence will ever exist in reality? With the Iranian terrorist group Hizballah building a massive base in South America from which to attack the US, how can we afford not to build that fence?

The main point of the bill (much of which has not yet even been written) is to grant every single illegal alien currently in America a visa, allowing them to stay despite the fact that they broke the law to get here and violate numerous laws every day that they remain. I wonder when Congress will do the same for other categories of criminal. For instance, will car thieves be granted a “path to ownership” which allows them to keep their unlawfully-obtained vehicles? If so, I’m going to feel awfully stupid for saving up money to put down on a new car… the same way millions of people who are patiently waiting for permission to emigrate to the United States must feel as though they just received a boot to the face for respecting our laws. If lawbreakers are allowed to keep what they obtained by criminal means, then no matter what you may call it, it’s an amnesty. Period.

But we have to “bring millions of people out of the shadows,” we are told by people such as Senator Ted Kennedy (D-MA). What shadows? Remember those huge illegal immigration rallies last year, in which hundreds of thousands of criminals — along with their supporters and enablers — marched through the streets of major US cities protesting the audacity of people who thought we should enforce our own laws? The only “shadows” I saw were cast by all the Mexican flags and “This is OUR continent, not YOURS” signs. There were other signs as well, but many of them were in Spanish, so I couldn’t read them.

This amnesty proposal will result in a huge influx of uneducated and unskilled immigrants over the next decade, too fast for our culture to absorb them. Food and services will increase in price, as the artificially-depressed wages paid under the table to those who had no choice but to accept them will have to rise. It will also bring in millions of new illegal immigrants, expecting yet another “one-time” amnesty a few years down the road. Many of these people will demand free medical care, welfare, and other government services. And which party will promise them all the freebies they could want? By agreeing to this compromise, the Republicans will doom their own party and marginalise Conservatives for years, ensuring a one-party Socialist state for at least a generation.

The only slim chance to stop this abomination of a bill is for every person who cares about America’s future to write, call, email and send smoke signals to our Senators and our Representatives, demanding that they vote against this amnesty proposal. Let them know that you will not support or vote for any politician who betrays America in this way. It’s the only power we have, and if we don’t use it… we will lose it.

The switchboards and email servers need to be crammed with our response. NumbersUSA (can’t provide the link as my company blocks their site) reveals that many in the Senate, who are on the fence, have been surprised over the last few months regarding the lack of protest from their constituency and take this as a green light to proceed with treason. Well, now’s your chance. Do it while there’s still time. Again, NumbersUSA provides free faxing as well as the complete list of emails and phone numbers of all the senators and representatives. I think you do have to register.

Sent my emails yesterday, calling today, and sending written letters tomorrow with the message

    NO AMNESTY FOR ILLEGALS OR
WE WILL REMOVE YOU FROM OFFICE

Even Bush will be able to read it through the eyepiece placed in his navel.

When I am an immigrant in Mexico or South America, maybe after Hillary Rodham-Clinton or another feminist reaches the Office of the President, I hope the government treats me well, so that I may work and support my family.

My maternal grandfather was an immigrant and my paternal great-grandfather was an immigrant.

“My maternal grandfather was an immigrant and my paternal great-grandfather was an immigrant.”

Many of my relatives were immigrants at some point. LEGAL ones.

Not mine, yet the pipe that my illegal great grandfather laid in the ground almost seventy years ago to bring fresh water to Chicago homes still does its job.

My great grandfather jumped a boat from Italy to run and hide from an unfair, oppressive government. He did not have a lot of time to wait for bureaucracies to take action for him.

Being illegal or legal is a matter of paperwork, not a matter of working hard, paying taxes, and or building into a family. I observe that in general Latin people are hard working with conservative social values.

There are many barriers that my mind can machinate to separate me from group of people, why use American pride or government laws?

National pride is about a few hundred years old, and used effectively by Napoleon. I challenge us to think bigger, beyond borders instead discern by people’s chemistry, by their content of character, by their ability to get a job done.

Hope you remember that after someone steals your car. Hey, ownership is just a matter of paperwork. No, it’s a matter of knowing who is coming into our country and from where, which we have every right to know. In today’s world, with the threat of terrorism hanging over all our heads, it may be a matter of life and death. And in any case, in peacetime or in war, there is no excuse for rewarding those who violate our laws.

mruff, your comment in #2 doesn’t make sense unless it’s taken as a joke. You want to immigrate to S.A. so you can support your family? You want a feminist in power? Isn’t that sexist? Isn’t that prideful? Or am I missing the point of including the technical qualifier “national?” How broad-minded of you. Maybe you should take your own challenge.

You observe? Do you also observe that our jails are filled with illegals far beyond what any standard of “equal opportunity” would dictate? Do you also observe that drug smugglers are crossing our border with impunity, killing our police, and destroying our communities? Is your argument that your great grandfather’s solution proves we don’t need no stinkin’ immigration laws? Absolutely riveting analysis. I take it back: I don’t challenge you to think bigger. I challenge you to think.

Back to the subject of pride: Do you take pride in how you appear? In how your home looks? In how you dress for work? In your workplace? In your city and it’s parks? At what level does pride become baaahhh, baaaahhh, baaaaaad?

I AM proud of my country. Fools don’t have the strength of mind to be proud without being hateful. You might find that your fear of embracing healthy respect for yourself and your country are manipulating you into welcoming your destruction.

I am very proud to have been born an Englishman. Undoubtedly the very best birthright and one which many non English aspire to, but unfortunately for them, and fortunate for me, birthright is purely …… accidental.

The same goes for all the voices that cry out against ‘illegals’ I can quite understand the problem and have a lot of sympathy, but nevertheless, there are at least one third of Americans whose only claim to be American, who haven’t worked a day in their life and have paid not a red cent in tax, let alone contributed anything tangible, is also accidental. The children. A sizable proportion of the parents too.

The ‘illegals’ are not America’s big problem. It is a small problem that pretty well any successful country shares. I agree with the idea that it ‘is a matter of paperwork’. It is not in the same league as owning a car.

No, the really BIG problem that America has is the corruption of the moral standards, particularly in the Law, the Political system and most importantly the Family. America at its roots has degenerated. The bold experiment in creating a truely moral country built upon sound Principles of Freedom, Justice, Truth, Integrity, is failing fast.

It would not matter a jot if no one at all tried to sneak in while America is crumbling in its moral stature.

As I say, I am proud to have been born English, but I moved to another country when England went to the dogs. American is going to the dogs too and moral people remaining have a very hard task ahead of them and can only be distracted by whinging about the poor flocking in to take your ill-gotten goodies.

The American model today is sheer social theft. It is hardly suprising that it has Democrat thieves controlling Congress and pseudo-democrat wolves in Republican shepherds clothing controlling the white house, with genuine everyday thieving bastards in Legal offices and Courts all over the place ravishing the Family flocks.

Look over the Atlantic to see your future, America. They had illegals up the Ying Yang too, many harder working and more valuable that the thieving home-grown socialists and femonazis that have swarmed like locusts and destroyed it.

  8. 8
    Squiggy Says:

amfortas, you’re mostly correct. But the illegals who are given instant citizenship (without having to work and sweat for it) will vote for whomever will give them the most freebies: i.e. the party of “thieving home-grown socialists and femonazis”.

Plus, we have a very serious problem with very bad people coming across the border. Half the group recently arrested for planning the bombing in New Jersey came across the Mexican border illegally. The flood must be stopped. It’s a shame it will require so much of our destruction before America gets serious.

    Menck Says:

And let us not forget another very significant aspect of all this. The power elite hombres in Mexican government have adopted the exportation of their uneducated masses to America as de facto economic policy.

It is vastly easier than, say, ridding themselves of the rampant gov’t corruption that is basically an institution there or developing reasonable solutions to solve the problems in their own economy. Too much work.
