Sergeant, thank you for your service to our country. You are obviously a brave man, and as a former noncom, I salute you for that.

Nothing will justify the treatment you received at the hands of the TSA, but let me make a few suggestions to ease your path in the future:

    1) When a police officer tells you that you can’t bring your Sprite on the plane, you can’t bring your Sprite on the plane.

    2) The fact that you are a decorated Vet will not excuse you from the rule.

    3) Yes, the security restrictions are absurd, but they (arguably) make us safer. Carping about it won’t change them.

    4) Sometimes we miss our planes. If you had complied with the officer, you would have made your plane. You should have listened to your wife and “Let it go.”

    5) While the beating you received was wrong and criminal, and the officers involved need to be in jail, isn’t it true that you confronted and argued with those officers?

    6) Since the incident had nothing to do with your service overseas, why are you wearing your uniform and pointing to your service in the television report?

Just a few things to consider. Best of luck in the future.

It is every citizens right to confront and challenge government officials regarding their behaviour. Left wing hysteria emanating mostly from europe notwithstanding, the US is not, to the best of my knowledge, a police state and officials must expect their conduct to be carefully scrutinized and commented upon not only by their supervisors, but by the public as well.

“Since the incident had nothing to do with your service overseas, why are you wearing your uniform and pointing to your service in the television report?”

The media, when introducing any individual, typically provides not only that individuals identity, but typically includes information that identifies their profession and social standing. The phrase “convicted murderer”, “socialite”, “hotel heiress”, “businessman” and so on can frequently be found in media reports regardless of the relevance of that information to the rest of the report. Chances are, he provided this information because he was asked and the media made their own decision as to the newsworthiness of that information.

Basically the “rules” that they state sound harmless, but if you think about it, it translates to being legally able to torture a dibilitated person till they can comply. which is what is happening. there are tons of videos out there were people who would have been physically restrained before, are now electrocuted into submission.

in the top video, note that he wasnt being arrested. and so they were trying to get him to submit to what? submit to, a beating? a theft? to conceding the argument to their point of view? if they werent attempting to arrest him, then what was he to submit to? the arbitrary, and unpunished will, of his torturers.

whats worse is that such a situation creates the tyhpe of mental situation that the Stanford experiments showed. the effect bled over to the researcher studying things, and it was a date that he brought to show his work that snapped his ass silly and said are you mad? it turns out that prison guards become sadistic and torturous when people defy their authority and their mandate is control.

police no longer know how to tell noisy pysical outbursts which are harmless and legal, and do nothing but cause people to watch, and someone losing control and haveing a mental breakdown where they are going to do harm. the two are very different in that the angry person in the first will refuse to touch someone and will back away (if they can).

the use of a taser in this situation meant that the officer coming on the scne also assumes that any cop in a situation must be in the right. another problem that prefecnts police showing up to a scene from actually assessing the scene themselves, and has them blindly acting. one shoots, they all shoot and will sort it out later. one is striking someone, that person has to be taken down.

i will say that striking someone makes it VERY hard for them to comply with indeffensible submission. think about this… the person that just broke your ribs wants you handcuffed in front of them and on the floor. you have not attacked them, they have not complied with stating that they are arresting you and you should comply. they are vague, and they are angry that this incident has ruined what is mostly calm days. this is made worse that the officer is fat and out of shape and up against a tall heavy, built person (i am this way so i know how people suddenly read this). so this fat person is intimidated by just the assymetry, AND the fact that thsi person does not fall prostrate and submit to authority blindly in a debasing manner arbitrarily.

did they think they could destry families, dumb down people, compartmentalize their thinking, remove their religious compassion, have no means of instilling good over bad (in fact the abolishment of the distinctoin), installed end justifies the means thinking…

and still expected there to be a core group that you could depend on to be handed weapons, be allowed to take steriods, be socially isolated, often disliked to hate by a nihilist pubilic, and expect to get quality people that strive and almost reach the police officer in childrens books?

after all standards since the 60a have lowered… many officers on the force do not have the physical ability to deal with a large segment of the populaiton. they themselves are much lower quality than their forfathers in morals, and such, given their secular no such thing as evil, relatavism, etc. and when mentally weak people, are in threatening situations, they have a hard time maintaining themselves in that situation. the stress becomes unbearable and their wish to resolve it faster than longer wants them to escalate it to a level where they can take action. in effect if the person doesnt give them this level the stressful situation may go on interminably, which is that situations right. (in the past the cop would have walked away from the yelling man.. he would have said something, and the cop would have responded, what do you want me to do, shoot the clerk? not much we can do sir, have a nice day yelling. end of story. there is no legal requirement to shut people up. keeping the peace is not tailed with “and quiet”)

    their training is paramilitary now.
their training is separative, in that it emphasises were the best, we are better, we are morally superior to everyone one (till we check them out).
they grant disbensation to their own for being their own (liscence)
they hold great power over the individual in most situations with little recoruse
they now have semilethal devices that allow them to torture to submission rather than reason to submission. this lowers the bar on skill level necessary to do the job. no longer does a officer have to be verbally competent to diffuse noisy angry harmless people, but now he can just shoot them and torture them till they comply. (then go home and sleep soundly without repurcussions – and as i show above, soetimes with promotion).
they are not paid as well as they used to be in proportion to buying power, and they too are under the same mental unwinding of our culture with little support and a lot of social hate directed at them by the left (gotta hate the establishment, what ever that is whenever that is).
and their measures have been curtailled so weaker, connected, those with alterior motives, mental trips, are all now allowed… and in each of those cases, the person is more willing to use deadly force to stave off what thy fear rather than stand up to it.

    not good.

this is not a good recipe.
