If it’s not amnesty…

…Then give me another word for it.

Proponents of the immigration bill making its way through Congress are constantly claiming “it’s not amnesty”. For example:

Amnesty is forgiveness for being here without any penalties — that’s what amnesty is. I oppose it.

— President Bush.

OK, if “amnesty” means forgiveness without any penalties, then we need another word for what’s happening. Maybe “retroactive decriminalization”?

Seriously – If I stole your car, and someone passed a law reducing my penalty to a $100 fine, and I got to keep the car, I might find the difference between that and “amnesty” not worth talking about.

At one point I read a comment about President Bush that said that he must have problems talking with Vicente Fox’s dick in his mouth. My memory being as bad as it is, part of me says I was the one who made it. Maybe I did, maybe I didn’t, but I agreed with it then and now that there is a new Mexican President down there now, he’s probably getting his dick sucked now as well.

Why must our politicians care more for people who cannot elect them than those who do?

You know, if we are to stay as one federation of sovereign states, we need to forget those bastards outside our borders. I don’t necessarily mean we should close ourselves off from the reat of the world or not help those less fortunate then ourselves, but most other countries think for what is best for their people. It doesn’t seem like our government does for us.

    I use the example,

If I go to work one day.And a person breakes into my home, and sets themselves up there as a resident, and mowed the lawn before I got home, should I have to let them stay, or can I have them removed for breaking and entering, and criminal trespass. By the President’s logic, since he mowed the lawn, he’s hard working, playing by the rules (since it is my son’s job to mow the lawn) and just looking for a better life.

The counter argument is the the Border Stations are like the front door to my home. If you come in a back door and don’t have my permission you’re trespassing.

The solution to the border is to militarize it, with orders to shoot to kill anyone who attempts to cross it without passing U.S.Customs. Then they will stop trying.

Just as an aside…those remittances to Mexico or wherever….they should have the highest capital gains tax rate applied to them. Apply a 40 % tax to those remittances and we’ll see how many of them decide to come here.
