NBC Teaches Courtesanship 101

2007-07-02
By

Her “Bottom” Line

NBC and Money magazine have teamed up to teach women how to be courtesans. Not familiar with this term? A courtesan is a high-priced prostitute who caters exclusively to ultrawealthy men. As I opined in my previous article — “Is Your Prostitute Legal?” — there is no difference between prostitution and dating or marrying for money. In each case, women exchange sex for financial gain.

“How to meet and marry a billionaire” is the theme of NBC’s new educational course, which includes everything a shallow golddigger needs to know — from how to behave to what interests to feign enjoying to what strategic locales to frequent. Kudos to Jean Chatzky and Meredith Vieira.

Is it not the epitome of hypocrisy when left-wing organizations like NBC preach to the rest of us that women deserve equal rights, and then turn around to urge women to be dependent, disempowered hookers? Of course not. Because feminarcissism and equality cannot and do not coexist.

The NoNonsense Bottom Line

I wonder if the same mothers who sat with their young daughters to rejoice in Katie Couric’s triumph as the first female news anchor were also present to share in this priceless opportunity to learn the fine art of courtesanship? I can just hear many of them telling their little girls: “If you can’t earn Katie’s $16M salary, through competition and hard work, do not fret: you can earn it on your back.”

There’s a movement out there called the Seduction Movement, and it teaches guys to speak to women in such a way as to build comfort and attraction, instead of purchasing a woman with money (which, as Marc says, turns them off). Just watch the following video of one such guy in action. He approaches two women and still gets a phone number.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cgmIMvgYY0

I’m not one of these people, I’ve never tried any of these approaches, and I’m not sure whether the advice is universally successful. But it seems to dovetail with Marc’s message, which is that women need to be turned on sexually rather than having some eunuch awakening the woman’s “inner gold digger.”

As I asked previously, Marc, what do you think of this movement?

  • http://www.antipeonage.0catch.com Roger Knight

    Marc R. –

“Remember: Golddigging is possible only because men are goldgivers — they haven’t the balls to say NO.”

I am not a goldgiver. Greg Amunrud, of taxi license suspension case fame is not a goldgiver either.

While some have not the balls to say no, most of us have not the GOLD with which to say yes!

You love to ignore this little state sponsored extortion racket that permanently suspends all of your licenses and throws you in jail if you do not give the amount of gold the state tyrants order you to give.

And you get mad at me and edit my posts if I suggest the Act of Congress that Dare Not Speak Its Name as a means of obtaining the right of men to not be goldgivers.

And then let them decide for themselves if they wish to be goldgivers. Or not.

Because until we do something about this state sponsored extortion racket, everything else is as useless as sitting in a forest beating a drum!

“Remember: Golddigging is possible only because men are goldgivers — they haven’t the balls to say NO.”

I haven’t yet read the entire thread, so “mea culpa” if I missed your insight to this question —

I really think you need to thoroughly interrogate your concept and prescription for “balls.”

BALLS are at the heart of your ideology …. your mindset.

(Your books apparently recommend that balls are some kind of panacea… a synonym for “no nonsense?” as a path towards male enlightenment?)

    But here’s the street ….

Your proclamation that only men who “do not have the BALLS” — is absolutely NO DIFFERENT than the FEMINIST-SHAME-AND-BLAME bile, toxin, snake-oil. Misandry.

What makes you any different than Kim Gandy at N.O.W. when you tell men they are emasculated unless they … what?

Buy your books? Accept your pussy-centric philosophy? (Define how it is not that…. you have refused to explain how your recipre for men leads to anything like actual freedom, choice, or escape from gender warfare…)

    I detect a SHILL.

    Look it up.

“One who acts as a decoy…”

Marc, you are causing me too much existential anguish.

You have so much promise as a men’s rights voice.

Why do you treat this honor with so much disdain?

Continue to debate blonde idiots if that’s your path….

Marc — I’m 50-50 split on this one. While Courtesanship is a very destructive idea, I think women are going to be much more hurt by it than men.

You describe Courtesanship as, “from how to behave to what interests to FEIGN enjoying to what strategic locales to frequent.”

Rachel Ray is a famous female cook who gets hit on a lot. The guys always say, “I love to cook!” So she simply says, “Great! What’s your favorite dish, and how do you make it?” 90% of all liars fail this little question test.

The other 10% are asked to actually make the dish and deliver it to her at a future time.

So, really, as long as men are talented enough to question fakers, the Courtesans are the ones in trouble, not the billionaires.

Still, excellent work. Glad you posted it. :)

I will moderate my articles according to my standards. I’ve asked commenters to tell us how they have solved the problems described in the article at hand. I do not want people to write their own articles here, and I don’t want to see more and more and more and more reiterations of the problem.

    Marc says:

“This is a COMMENT section, not a write-your-own-article-on-top-of-Marc’s-article section. Comments are supposed to be a sentence or a paragraph in length — MAXIMUM. Yet, some of you write and write and write and write.”

    “Why?”

    Mike says:

“tom of covent garden (#26) has identified the essential purpose behind MND’s legions of long-winded commenters: we are not here to sit at anyone’s feet, we are here to develop an intellectual framework through which the best ideas and arguments of the MRA community can be tested, honed and practiced.”

I think I understand what is behind Marc’s post. Posts don’t always add value to the cybergroup. They may benefit newbies or just the exchange between two posters or maybe it is done for the benefit of the poster alone, e.g. the need to be the new messiah. We men do have egos afterall.

I’ve been frequenting my friend AngryHarry’s site lately. He addresses the topic of EFFECTIVE ACTIVISM.

    He says:

    “Generating Heat”

“MRAs need to generate heat rather than formulae.”

“One of the things that drives me nuts – yes, yes, I know, yet another thing – is the belief among many highly-intelligent MRAs that there is some objective theory – probably based on biology, psychology, history, anthropology, law etc – that can lead us all to a state of happiness and general contentment with each other; particularly on gender lines. But there is no such thing. And, as such, it is largely a waste of time trying to figure out what such a theory might be – time, I might add, that could be fruitfully spent doing other things – such as engaging in some form of direct activism!”

    He goes on:

“Similarly, in practice, most “rights” that are accorded to people are nowadays ‘calculated’ and judged not with reference to some higher authority – such as a god or a ‘theory’ – but on the basis of how much political pressure can be brought to bear on those in government, how much money supports one position or the other, how many people have a vested interest in the matter, how much attention can be attracted; and so on.”

“In other words, the various “rights” that are accorded to people largely depends, loosely speaking, on the amount of heat and pressure that can be generated over the matters of concern. There are no “just”‘ rights, just as there are no “just” prices.”

    and on…

“In conclusion, therefore, my view is that until ‘men’ start undermining, or threatening to undermine, very significantly those forces and those groups of people who are the cause of the problems that beset them, they will achieve very little. And while quoting various formulae, theories, statistics and facts will very often help with such actions, on their own, they are of little value in practice. Indeed, in practice, heat alone is very clearly often good enough!”

“Let me put this into words.”

“I don’t care what you think. I don’t care what the evidence is. I just don’t like what you are doing to me and to my fellow men. And if you continue doing it, I will undermine you.”

The follwoing link has excellent commentary and ideas for activism and why “talking” is not nearly enough:

    The Truth about the Truth

Fathers Group Miss the Big Picture

Where’s the Men’s Movement When You Need It

    The Virtues of Disorganized Resistance

    As Mike says:

“we are here to develop an intellectual framework through which the best ideas and arguments of the MRA community can be tested, honed and PRACTICED.”

    Practiced as in Effective Activism.

    > ‘Go Dutch’, but younger people, below 25, are sadly, returning to the ‘men should
    > pay’ answer, citing ‘tradition’ and ‘the pay gap’ as their motivation in said regard.

Interesting experiment, even if the participants aren’t aware of what’s going on.

Obviously, the more valuable/desirable the woman the more likely the man is going to have to pay whether he wants to or not — which generally means the younger the woman. (They don’t use 40 year-olds as jail bait for a reason.) This explains the results. The speed seduction schemes still involve the man earning his way to equality with the babe, even if it’s his time/energy/talents rather than his money which is the currency being employed.

  • tom of covent garden

The (online) pick up artist community has a zero tolerance attitude toward spending on females, not based on any political stance, more a pragmatic one. By paying for a woman, the guy sends out all the wrong sort of messages, they argue, hindering his chances of getting laid.

I’ve been carrying out hundreds of interviews on the streets of London, as part of a scientific experiment, one question I ask: ‘When a man and a woman go on a first date, who should pay?’. It seems men and women between the ages of 25 and 45 are more likely to say ‘Go Dutch’, but younger people, below 25, are sadly, returning to the ‘men should pay’ answer, citing ‘tradition’ and ‘the pay gap’ as their motivation in said regard.

The majority of Scandinavian people of all ages on the other hand, seem to show principle, saying both should pay. Scandinavian people are also the most likely to understand the true reason for the pay gap, citing female choices, rather than workplace discrimination, as most other respondents think.

I suspect Scandinavians are taught at school, etc. from an early age to ‘go Dutch’.
It certainly avoids any sudden change of policy on the part of the males who, by their mid twenties, realise they’re getting ripped off.

Even Dutch people don’t go Dutch quite as often as the Scandinavians.

Actually the NBC piece and the MSNBC article were about how to meet and marry rich guys, which is pretty standard princess-meets-rich-prince-and-lives-happily-ever-after fare (i.e., useless nonsense). I think being a spouse and being a high-priced prostitute are two distinctly different things. We could actually use more/better courtesan types, if only because of the supply/demand/price factor, but the MSNBC article sidestepped the issues surrounding that entirely, saying they’d leave those things for “Cosmo and Esquire”.

  • amfortas

Its a bit of a conundrum, this Gold-digger / Gold-giver bizzo, isn’t it. I can only agree with you Marc, that some sense is required from chaps. But there is a human nature element in it too.

Men are not simply acculturated to give generously to the one they love, but it is in the genes. Men provide. Its men’s way of nurturing. Women need to be provided for – or they used to. Men and women operate on auto most of the time, even though women have changed the rules substantially.

The drive to impress is innate. It isn’t just a cognitive decision to demonstrate status. It needs to be ‘managed’ carefully and not wasted.

There needs to be a point where the potential-showing needs to start. Prior to that, at the merely meeting and getting to know one another stage, it is best, IMHO, that he keeps his wallet in his pocket. Let her do the impressing. Let her show her worth before he starts ‘investing’. She is the one, after all, that is in the market for support.

  • tom of covent garden

Marc, we probably write a lot here, to men’s issue-articulate others, because we are frustrated at the lack of other forums deemed appropriate for male discourse.

I would argue its a men’s rights issue – freedom of speech, etc.

MND is well known for allowing dissenting views, and nonsensical ones too.

We are honing our ideas on each other, as well as venting spleen.

I’m sure you have entrusted confidants to read your drafts, etc, on occasion. I’m sure some of our comments have informed your further output too.

Scottkirk and I have been arguing about various men’s rights issues for weeks, and find it useful to apply those arguments to new articles as and when they appear. Its too long-winded to recap all our arguments to those who haven’t read it all, so for those of you who don’t get it, stop reading, and skip to the next comment if you want – freedom of choice, etc.

If I want to ‘speak’ to Germaine Grier for instance, her website does not even allow mere members of the public to contact her by e-mail!

    Hey Marc,
fortunately I’m not naive about women anymore.
I won’t support any of them.
My comment was on society in general.

Fortunately since March I’ve lost a few prospects because I was honest with them,,
telling them that all I want a woman for at this point in my life is: sex, companionship at times and maybe someone to go places with..

I don’t understand why you guys love to complicate something so simple. But, if that is your wish, I cannot stop you.

I cannot even fathom half of the comments here. This is a COMMENT section, not a write-your-own-article-on-top-of-Marc’s-article section. Comments are supposed to be a sentence or a paragraph in length — MAXIMUM. Yet, some of you write and write and write and write.

    Why?

  • tom of covent garden

Scottkirk, I’m more interested in seperating the anti-feminists from the pro-feminists. The difference between left wing and right wing in the UK is minimal – about one or two percent difference in government funding between Labour and The Conservatives. The third party, The Liberal Democrats, cannot find any centre ground between the bigger two, so campaigns for slightly higher taxes, to the left of Labour.

The difference however, between pro-feminists and anti-feminists is massive. They want to head in opposite directions (despite concerning themselves with similar men’s issues).

Anti-feminism is right wing, in that it whoremongers, as is the tradition.
Pro-feminism takes in right wing morays, in that it encourages an open and FREE market, but for sex (without strings).
Right wing anti-feminism is akin to left wing socialist-feminism, as they both view women as a special needs group, but in different ways – princess/victim.
Pro-feminism may be conservative, as it is economically progressive and prudent to mobilise the females into work, but conservatism can be left of centre, in the case of The UK’s very successful current Labour Party administration.

Right wing financial practices, with left wing social policy – there!

  • http://www.antipeonage.0catch.com Roger Knight

You realize, Marc, that the truly rich guys, and by that I don’t mean the guys who makes $150,000 a year and is therefore in the high tax bracket without really being wealthy, (example: typical federal judge who does not wish to lose his rice bowl and therefore will be careful not to make a politically incorrect decision such as the Child Support Crusade offends the 13th Amendment or Tank Johnson’s jail sentence offends the 2d Amendment), I mean the guys who truly make the decisions don’t mind paying for pussy because they know they can outbid the rest of us.

Rush Limbaugh, as much as we may love him, tells us that whenever he wants to give a woman house, he marries her. She divorces him and gets to keep a house. As the millions roll in from the advertisers on his radio show, he can always find another trophy wife to whom he can offer a house in return for a few years of penis polishing.

Tom Clancy can always write another bestseller about the war against the Islamofascists involving nuclear bombs or poison gas or whatever. That will always pay for another divorce.

And we all know that Anna Nicole Smith, even though she made some good money posing her nude body in front of cameras, married the ultimate sugar daddy whom she did not have to divorce, as his extreme old age will solve that problem! Old man Marshall didn’t mind, as he could not take it with him, he spent some for the feel of silky hair and fluffy boobs!

Now Marc, you and I can refuse to pay for pussy. And you might even have some magic tricks on how to get under a lady’s clitoral hood and crank her engine, while avoiding the estrogen express. And if you make some money selling your books telling us how, good for you! But I might suggest, that when you are under her clitoral hood, make sure you don’t crank her REPRODUCTIVE engine!

For the state will then act as the pimp enforcing payment!

  • http://thenononsenseman.mensnewsdaily.com Marc H. Rudov

    Bigpapa,

You are naive if you think women don’t care about men’s looks. As I say on every radio interview: “If the first thing you whip out when you meet a woman is your credit card, you lose.”

A woman NEVER respects any man who showers her with cash and gifts. She’ll take the largesse, though. Losers — eunuchs and matadormats (as I call them in my article, “How to Lure a Golddigger”) deserve to be taken to the cleaners. These idiot men keep purchasing women.

When goldgivers disappear, golddiggers will disappear. It’s that simple. The reason NBC and Money magazine even had a platform is that MEN give it to them.

  • scottkirk

tom of covent garden tries to divide men by consistantly using the left wing right wing rhetoric…to in effect draw men to divide themsevles..

When in reality mens rights (or lack thereof) effect both left wingers and right wingwers..

  • tom of covent garden

In the UK, the left wing TV and radio network, the BBC, occasionally dabbles in female supremacist whoremongering, to see if it can get away with it on licence fee payers’ money, with series such as Bring Your Husband to Heel, and the long-running Woman’s Hour. On the right wing networks however, like ITV, whoremongery is not signposted as such, and is rather, the standard fare -anything else would be seen as left wing, feminist, or weird – as ITV’s key demographic, the Conservative housewife, didn’t get where she is today without slutting herself off to the highest bidder.

I’m sure there is a centreground for politics and the media, with right-wing free market spirit, and left wing (feminist inspired) female work ethic, for media content, and I’m sure that in the case of the UK, the centre left wing BBC is the best bet, as when the BBC does whoremongering, at least it’s tongue-in-cheek, rather than the insidious ITV norm.

Rather the devil you know, advertising itself as a devil.

Watch women when their daughters get divorces. They may speak about equality and “girl power” but when the divorce shows up, like the Germans making cartoons of Jews, or the KKK of blacks, mom’s “go off” demonizing the male, then the girl friends chip in, and by the time they have listed every fault he had, ever mistake made, then amplify that by ten – you would think that the women couldn’t have possibly contributed to the break up and that she was a total victim of a creep and deserves to be compensated to a degree that men just don’t get.

Once it’s agreed that he is a total rat bastard then fleecing him, getting all you can get, “feels fair” to the “fairer gender” … so it appears to me.

The “we all pay for pussy” line, it’s old. I know men besides myself whose wives work hard, make more money, and don’t play games about sex. The “we all” or “they all” reminds me of how women speak of men sometimes.

I think if some of those men who work extra hours to make the money they need for sex, … took that extra time and went clothes shopping after a few weeks in the gym they would find that they didn’t need to pay for sex because they would be in demand “that way” … I have seen some really dumpy, unhealthy looking men, wondering why women don’t just fall down for them after they pay for dinner and make a few compliments.

Some men pay for pussy because they want to be able to send her home when it’s over. Others pay because it’s the only way they can get it, – some men have willing sex partners without games… if you are in one group or the other most likely it has to do with a life time of choices and has less to do with “all of them” or “all of us” …

  • Virtue

Marc I disagree with you on one of your published opinions. However I feel that is irrelevant because the of the one principal that I do agree with you about.

Men need to stop paying for pussy.

If as a whole we could grasp and follow through with this ONE thing everything else would fall into place. And we do….we ALL PAY

    We ALL PAY FOR PUSSY.

If we don’t pay with cash we pay by catering to her every whim….”If momma aint happy, no ones happy” Sound familiar? We just vary the coin we use to pay for pussy.

Why do you think women from EVERY END of the political spectrum, right left Feminist, religious even from the Mens rights movements they all have one thing in common….they HATE prostitution and porn…..because it basically lowers the cost of pussy…..and they want MAXIMUM RETURN on investment. The attacks on men going outside of western culture drives women INSANE!!! because their jobs are being outsourced !!!

  • BobH

Why is anybody surprised or upset about this? It sounds like NBC is just trying to make a buck and it’s pretty widely accepted, by both men and women, that sexual intercourse it at its core, prostitution.

Women don’t like this out in the open because any man who thinks of a woman as a prostitute isn’t likely to trust her in any deep fashion. Women like to be trusted and very well paid when they betray that trust. It is much more difficult to do that when the guy is overtly thinking in terms of a buyer-seller relationship.
