Perhaps Paul Weaver's point explain why fathers point on government VAWA,
Title IX, Commissions for Women etc no counterarguments are not reported.

"Weaver's claim is that journalists and public officials combine to fabricate artificial crises of public policy that end up being "covered in the media, reacted to by the public, and dealt with by government" as if they were real. In short: officials tell lies by inflating the urgency of things, and journalists compound the fraud by passing them along in supposedly objective--but inherently uncritical--ways.

The result, he argues, is both bad government and a journalism that is "stupid and dysfunctional," practiced by reporters who are little more than "dependent, submissive, narcissistic courtiers" to the officials they"

I don't know if you meant to be sarcastic or satirical with reference to NYT,
But after reading Paul Weaver's boook "News and the Culture of Lying" , I cas NYT logo "All the news that is fit to print" someone decides what is news.
Link to review of Paul Weaver's book.

Somebody needs to send a link to DailyKos and see how many of them scream with glee before they get to the 'satire' part.

Mike, could you label on front page which is "satire" or "reporting". Otherewise the readers get confused and don't know who to belive or not.

If it's good enough for The New York Times....

Miller, I concluded some time ago, is nuts. But in this case I wonder if he is trying to make a point about how morally and intellectually bankrupt and just plain rotten the two major parties in the USA are today. Are the Republicats so reprehensible to him (as they are to many of us) that Marx looks good in comparison?

Satire? Where?

This seems to me to be as satirical as a comedian is funny when he tells a so-called joke that he thinks is funny and nobody laughs. I looked up satire in the dictionary and I just don't see it. But I did feel like I wasted a decent chunk of my time on an article that suckered me in based on a fraudulent title.

What a waste of time! Does the author have a regular job where he actually does something constructive?

Addendum,
Several years ago The New Yok Post reported (alleged) survey of people's opinions about different professions. They only reported 2 categories
Rank downwards
Lawyers and journalist,
Politicians and prostitutes
What surprsed me that prostitutes ranked below lawyers and journalist. Prostitutes only sell their bodies (legal in rural counties in Nevada.) Politicians sell public trust.
But lawyers and journalist sell their souls to highest bidder in the " freedom of expression" and lawyers control most legislatures and can change hats from prosecutor, defense attorney and judge with generous 2/3 pension of their salary.
AP wire service (arrogant) and local reporters kowtowing to editorial policy report what the boss wants. I saw poster "The freedom of the press belongs to those who own the presses."

Mike La Salle,
Earlier there was a story that only in the end said "satire". I glanced Coug Powers story and did not read it.
Then I saw your commentary on the front and was really baffled. Since I respect you enourmously, I didn't know if it was for real, so I went back to Powers piece. Only at the end it said "This is obviously satire".
Mike, could you label on front page which is "satire" or "reporting". Otherewise the readers get confused and don't know who to belive or not.
