Sen. David Vitter Apologizes For Being On An Escort’s List
“On Monday alleged prostitution ring leader Deborah Jeane Palfrey released 15,000 client names on her web site after a judge found no reason to seize the list.
Louisiana Sen. David Vitter’s telephone number showed up in phone records for Pamela Martin and Associates, the name of the alleged prostitution ring.
In a statement Vitter said, ‘This was a very serious sin in my past for which I am, of course, completely responsible.’
‘Several years ago, I asked for and received forgiveness from God and my wife in confession and marriage counseling. Out of respect for my family, I will keep my discussion of the matter there –with God and them. But I certainly offer my deep and sincere apologies to all I have disappointed and let down in any way,’ he wrote.”

It should be of no consequence if a politician’s name appears in a Madam’s little (or in this case big) black book. I don’t care what a politico does with his sex organ; I do care what he does with his brain. The pertinent question isn’t has my congressman slept around, but has he introduced any bills that will benefit his constituents.
Vitter labeled his interaction with an escort service as a “very serious sin”; and he is correct that only his family should be concerned with such moral transgressions.
I don’t care how many such sins a politician commits; I’m only concerned when he breaks the law. If my senator’s phone number appears a hundred times in an escort service’s phone logs, I don’t give a fig. But if his phone number appears even once in the phone records of a lobbyist, with a reputation for corruption, then I am very distressed.
For the record, the owner of the escort service insists she wasn’t running a prostitution ring. She claims that she only provided “erotic entertainment” for her clients.
However, when a sanctimonious politician who claims to believe in family values engages in extramarital sex, then the issue of hypocrisy comes into play.
Sen. Vitter, is a sanctimonious Republican who is for “family values” and against same-sex marriage. Shame on you Sen. Vitter, you are a damn hypocrite.
