The Land of the Lard
Nobody Flashes: I've been wondering where all the chickens have gone. For weeks I have been reporting that finding a whole chicken to cook is about as hard as finding someone under twenty who knows who the Vice President is. Sunday chicken dinner is disappearing, to be replaced by nachos and movie theater popcorn.
Maybe the chickens are somewhere in some secret cave, being used to develop bird flu…Hillary, good ol gal that she is, is still concerned about it's dangers. One case was reported last week in Thailand.
While we worry about a nuclear attack, tainted food, Iraq, invasions, floods, fires, taxes, job going overseas, and dying in our new hybrids hit by a mack truck…Hillary is going to protect us from the bird flu.
The U.N. is in all a flutter because it now admits it cannot feed the whole world due to the price of corn and soy going up…because some idiot has decided to make car fuel out of food.
Now, that was a real good idea.
Today, it was reported that China has banned chicken and pork from Tyson Chicken Food. The company from Arkansas, who helped put Bill Clinton in the governor's mansion, evidently has been copying the practices of "tainting" the food in order to make sure that there are less mouths to feed. China said the chickens contains…salmonella.
Because the Chinese have to boil their water…cooking chickens would take just too much time. After all, they only get so much break time at the factories.
The U.S. says it's just retaliation from the Chinese, who are mad because we refused to accept their shrimp…we said it was "tainted."
At least we use nicer words.
The U.S. imports 95% of all it's shrimp. Remember that next time your at Red Lobster, and they offer you the "all you can eat shrimp" plate.
Producing our own food is not a high priority right now. We must concentrate on Wind Mills.
What does this all mean? We will all have to learn to continue to survive on fat. So we will get fatter…and then MORE new diet foods, and MORE new exercise equipment, and MORE new diet pills…will go on to become our main source of energy.
Already Walgreens have not only become the new medical centers for this new third world country, but a speical diet pill along with a program is waiting for you next time you go pick up your other drugs.
Thus a whole new industry is created, along with Ethanol.
The plan is to save the Ozone by starving the planet. The middle class people will, forget Sunday Chicken dinners with mashed potatoes, and instead get up and eat a South Beach Diet Cookie bar, with a Gator Aid Berry drink..and gain more weight then ever, thereby dying of heart attacks sooner.
Then, with Universal Heath Care under Hillary, you will have to wait your turn for that triple bypass.
The only thing that makes me feel good about missing my Sunday chicken home cooked meal is the sight of Michael Moore. I hope that when he finally has his heart attack, he flys to Cuba.
America already is known as the land of Lard. Pass the butter.
I will continue to monitor the chickens…if there is any information or sightings, please let me know.
Chickens have rights too, you know.
Nobody Cares; It's only a matter of time, before they decide that our water is tainted.
After all, they've been putting poison in it for years. Floride was originally used to kill rats.
But don't ever tell that to a dentist while he is doing a root canal. Big mistake. I ought to know.
I am a nobody. If the different classes of America were color-coded, I would be in your yucky brown, one rink up from the bottom. I grew up in Naples, Florida and live near the Mississippi River now with my husband and two dogs. I am part of the slowly disappearing middle-class. I was a musician most of my life;drummer/singer/keyboards---but I retired before the plastic surgery flu hit. I have no degrees, which could be a good thing...depending on how you view our educational system. I do have three patents...but that really doesn't make me a somebody. The one thing that is constant in my life is my OPINIONS...which I have more of than perhaps even Carl Sagan could have imagined, mostly political. Hopefully other nobodys will put their opinions on my site. But if you are a sombody...you're more than welcomed to help out. I will try to prove that sometimes nobody knows the answers, sometimes nobody cares, sometimes nobody wins, and most importantly...NOBODY is perfect. Please bear this in mind when you read my thoughts. I don't mean to offend nobody, it's all in good fun. | More from Joyanna Adams

What is it with the American dislike of the idea of a ‘universal’ health care system, Joy? I can understand disliking Hillary, but the idea and practice of a national health system is quite reasonable to me. I have lived in two major western countries with first class public health systems. Both sit alongside private systems, with charity or church based systems operating too.
I can understand a view that Governments can tend to operate at a lower level of financial efficiency in providing national systems of health and hospital care, but it doesn’t have to be the case.
I may be at odds with some arch-conservatives here, but to my mind Governments have a duty to provide for the health care of their citizens, just as they do for defense.

Try the health care system in Canada where people who need life saving operations are put on a year long waiting list. If you don’t believe me research it for your self.

Yea, I want the same type of people who run the DMV & Passports running my health care. As a military retiree, I get Tricare which is a paperwork nightmare. Trust me the nation doesn’t want health care run by the government. Many doctors won’t touch Tricare simply because of the paperwork burden. I can’t even change my Primary care provider without a battle with the local hospital commander.

Which article of the constitution covers health care?

I can still find whole chickens in my local grocery store, but the fact is a lot of people are losing the ability to cook meals for themselves. They rather go to a restaurant. Also the food they do make comes from a can and is highly processed. You want to lose weight without a lot of work? It’s simple, start cooking for yourself. Use only whole ingredients whenever possible. Vegetables, fruit, meat, bread, all need to be whole grain and least amount of processing done. You will find that such food will fill you up for longer as well as having less calories then the boxed and canned junk. Only tomatoes go up in nutritional value after being processed.
Right now the US has arguably the best health care system in the world. Of course it costs out the wazoo, but we have the best equipment and treatments. If health care was nationalized then the service would drop. If you look at Britain and Canada their health care systems are not nearly as good. Older equipment and long wait times for care. Of course the cost would be staggering in the US. With a good chunk of the population retiring and then needing more end of life care, the strain on the system would be enormous.

I am a single man……I live alone and I work a minimum of 12 hour days…..I BARELY have time for physical exercise….How can I possibly make time to cook food from scratch?

I believe in universal health care, and here’s how:
I don’t consider my kids’ health care to be your problem, so the wife and I work like hell to provide that for them. If you return the favor, your kids are covered too, and we’ll have finally arrived at a workable universal health care system that doesn’t involve socialist thievery and the opportunity for political pigs to dig their snouts into the redistribution trough under the guise of “caring for the children.”

Use A george Foreman grill for 1 chicke breast. Cut into chunks and put on salad(from a premade bag). Add Ken’s Caeser Dressing. 8 minutes but tastes great!

I haven’t had any problems finding whole chickens either. Just got a couple of them at BJ’s a while back, and roasted the last one just a few days ago. MMMMM, it sure was good, too. But I have to admit I have a real problem with eating healthy. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes two years ago, so I have all these changes in my eating habits I’m supposed to make. And I have made quite a few of them. But I have discovered that I absolutely cannot tolerate the taste of whole wheat bread, and I really don’t care for tofu or soy at all. I’ve tried them, I just want to gag while eating them and that really isn’t so good. I have learned to like yogurt, though, and I have cut out a lot of sugar from my diet; plus I’m drinking more water and getting more exercise. But fruits are so expensive, as are many of the healthy foods I’m supposed to be eating. And I’m not big on vegetables either, as preparing many of them is a total mystery to me. I guess I’m just a fussy eater, but my point is that even when you try, it’s difficult to do everything the way you’re supposed to. And as far as eating out–we rarely do because we can’t afford it.
Hey, tv2112, I have a grill like that which I use all the time for my chicken breasts and hamburgers and boneless pork chops. But I don’t like Caesar dressing, will that work with any kind? And how about giving us some more recipes? (Huge grin!)

Substitute Caeser dressing with (any dressing you like) Also, I use the Tyson Buffalo chicken tenders occasionally too. Then I usually put Ranch dressing on that. Makes for a spicy chicken salad.

Are you freaking kidding me,,, I don’t have the time to post any links right now but YOU can google or whatever Englands and Canadas health care problems…
Unless you’re simple you’ll see the truth..
IT IS NOT the governments responsibility or my responsibility to provide health care or any care for welfare children..
It is the parents responsibility,,,,
And I am no “arch-conservative” by any means… I just HATE socialism..
Of which universal health is a signifigant part,,, it doesn’t work and the lazy assholes who sit at home pretending to not be able to find a job don’t deserve a dime from my hard working ass.
