While Muslims are terrorizing innocent people world wide, here in the United States, Muslim/Islamic Extremists are using our own system to further their own political/religious agenda of dominating the world and turning Christians and Jews into Dhimmis.
We’re one step closer to being dominated by Islam right here in the United States of America and the so called defenders of the Constitution, the ACLU is silent on this one! Apparently, violating Muslim Religious law is considered a Hate Crime in the USA.
Officials at Pace University are caving into the demands of Muslim students and had a man arrested for throwing a Koran in the toilet.
NEW YORK (AP) _ A 23-year-old man was arrested Friday on hate-crime charges after he threw a Quran in a toilet at Pace University on two separate occasions, police said.
Stanislav Shmulevich of Brooklyn was arrested on charges of criminal mischief and aggravated harassment, both hate crimes, police said. It was unclear if he was a student at the school. A message left at the Shmulevich home was not immediately returned.
The Islamic holy book was found in a toilet at Pace’s lower Manhattan campus by a teacher on Oct. 13. A student discovered another book in a toilet on Nov. 21, police said.
Muslim activists had called on Pace University to crack down on hate crimes after the incidents. As a result, the university said it would offer sensitivity training to its students.
The school was accused by Muslim students of not taking the incident seriously enough at first. Pace classified the first desecration of the holy book as an act of vandalism, but university officials later reversed themselves and referred the incident to the New York Police Department’s hate crimes unit.
By God if burning my flag is considered Free Speech then so is taking a squirt on this handbook of Islamic Terror. The ACLU considers a crucifix immersed in urine to be freedom of speech and fought tooth and nail for it. A portrait of the Catholic icon, the Virgin Mary in which feces was used as the artists medium was considered a work of art and free speech by the liberal left. Where are the cries of Religious freedom and Free Speech where this one is concerned?

Sadly enough, Jews have played a big role in promoting this idiotic concept.
Like other such bad ideas (e.g. gun control) it just comes back to hurt the people who fought for it.
A crime is not more or less serious because of what other people suspect the perpetrator was thinking.
In the case of injuring a toilet with a koran, I can see charging the perpetrator with damaging property if in fact there was any damage, but that’s the worst case.
Some people think every city should hold a privately organized Koran flushing festival every year on September 11. During this festival we can take a few hours to mourn the human losses at the hands of such a corrupt, violent faith and enumerate historical atrocities inspired by this sad excuse for a holy book.
I personally stand against Hate Crime Legislation. What’s in a persons mind when they kill or maim another human being does not make the crime more or less disgusting and we should not offer specific special interest groups special protection based on race, religion or sexual preferences.
It seems our once great country is devolving into a banana republic. Can anything be done? Short answer is no. Too many special interests are vested in the type of miscarriage of justice discussed in this thread. Law enforcement has created a vast array of drug laws that deprive us of property and freedom, the hate merchant/race lobby has passed these idiotic “hate” crime laws that has effectively destroyed the concept of “double jeopardy”, & the various Prosecuters use any of the above 2 loopholes to destroy anyone they want. Without the citizens of the United States stepping foward and saying “Enough is enough!” we are doomed to be dominated by Islam and the thought police of the Liberal Left.

After the rumor of a Quran down the toilet in Guantanamo was irresponsibly spread, a mob in Afghanistan burned down an ancient library that (as President Hamid Karzai pointed out dryly) contained several ancient copies of the same book. Not content with igniting copies of The Satanic Verses, Islamist lynch parties demanded the burning of its author as well. Many distinguished authors, Muslim and non-Muslim, are dead or in hiding because of the words they have put on pages concerning the unbelievable claims of Islam. And it is to appease such a spirit of persecution and intolerance that a student in New York City has been arrested for an expression, however vulgar, of an opinion.
This has to stop, and it has to stop right now. There can be no concession to sharia in the United States. When will we see someone detained, or even cautioned, for advocating the burning of books in the name of God? If the police are honestly interested in this sort of “hate crime,” I can help them identify those who spent much of last year uttering physical threats against the republication in this country of some Danish cartoons. In default of impartial prosecution, we have to insist that Muslims take their chance of being upset, just as we who do not subscribe to their arrogant certainties are revolted every day by the hideous behavior of the parties of God.
It is often said that resistance to jihadism only increases the recruitment to it. For all I know, this commonplace observation could be true. But, if so, it must cut both ways. How about reminding the Islamists that, by their mad policy in Kashmir and elsewhere, they have made deadly enemies of a billion Indian Hindus? Is there no danger that the massacre of Iraqi and Lebanese Christians, or the threatened murder of all Jews, will cause an equal and opposite response? Most important of all, what will be said and done by those of us who take no side in filthy religious wars? The enemies of intolerance cannot be tolerant, or neutral, without inviting their own suicide. And the advocates and apologists of bigotry and censorship and suicide-assassination cannot be permitted to take shelter any longer under the umbrella of a pluralism that they openly seek to destroy.
This story has really touched a nerve among Americans who value free speech and refuse to be bullied by CAIR and the MSA and their Islamic Masters who want to dominate the west.
I for one am not afraid of CAIR and my message to them is that they can kiss my fat hair ass!

Well that was an ugly thing to do to any book, however the Muslims are such a hot-headed lot anyway so it doesn’t take much to set them off and this guy knows it, that’s why he did it. Just to piss those on campus off big time.
That said, the Muslims seem to think that they can do anything, say anything and get by with it, especially here in the US where the liberal media and courts will let them.

I’m amazed. You have seen thousands of cases of Muslims blowing up anyone who is an ‘infidel’. You have seen videos of them beheading us and telling us how Allah will take over the world. We have security videos of them blowing up cars in which they’ve placed children in the back seat. Their “leaders” send out fatwah’s to kill us. They tell us (over and over and over) we will bend to their will or be killed. And somehow you don’t believe their own words. Yet anyone who says they saw a flash from tower 2 is preaching the absolute Gospel.

United 93 is a very well- documented movie based on numerous cell phone conversations with people on the ground at the time of the hijacking. The Western Standard is a Western Canadian Magazine that I subscribe to. The survey was of 500 Canadian Muslims. I used the statistic because I was assuming that the situation in the USA is roughly the same.

As a former Boeing engineer, I have to make a comment on United 93. The 757 was taken into a power dive and no doubt went supersonic. This bird is designed to fly with a top speed at the very beginning of the transonic range, about Mach .91, while the ideal flight speed at cruising altitude is about Mach .85.
The engines typically used on a commercial aircraft includes a rotor carrying a huge fan at the intake. This fan compresses air for two purposes: to feed the jet engine in the center and to pump the rest of the air, about 80% of it, through the bypass coke bottle for propulsion. The relatively small portion of the air sent into the jet engine provides the oxygen to combust the fuel, generating energy and expanding gas to blow through the turbine which spins the entire rotor.
That is the short and incomplete explanation of a typical engine as used on the 757. It is designed for subsonic and low transonic flight. When air is entering at supersonic speeds, and it is thicker air at low altitudes, it is possible for the fan to freeze in position or for the bearings to overheat and freeze.
When the rotor of a 757 engine freezes, its angular momentum is sufficient to 1) snap the wing off the aircraft; or 2) flip the entire aircraft around several times.
Therefore Boeing engineers (and McDonald Douglas and Airbus engineers) design the attachment of the engine to the wing spar to consist of several shear pins. These shear pins are designed to snap should the engine rotor freeze on its bearings. The engine falls off the plane, but with the other engine intact and both wings intact, the pilots have a chance to bring it to the ground for the kind of landing you can walk away from, a good landing.
So if an engine fell off the United 93 757, all that means is that its rotor may have frozen from the stresses of the power dive and the angular momentum sheared it off the wing, as it was designed to do.

Yes they did. It just wasn’t enough to stop the enormous weight crashing into them. Each crash made the collapse of the next floor go a little faster.

Ever heard of “air pressure”? Or maybe it was from expansion caused by the massive heat wave coming up the elevator shafts. Or any number of simple explanations that don’t involve conspiracy.

So gravity pulled it straight down? How odd. And it was broken up for shipment? If that weren’t an really pathetic lie, it would be amazing. I’ve seen lots of smaller buildings demolished, and they weren’t “broken up for shipment”.

Roger Knight is dead on target. Brrmerrick you would do well to listen just as I have listened and learned at numerous meetings sponsored by DHS. There is no conspiracy. We and much of the rest of the world are at war with bad guys who mass murder civilians, support child sacrifice, and kill and eat their own if it furthers there goal of murdering their way to power. The poll taken in this country a few months ago show that 30% of muslims between the ages of 18 and 35 support these tactics. It ain’t pretty; this is not a video game and we are going to be fighting the religion of mass murder for the next 50 years and beyond. Roger Knight attacks one point of Tom Kovach’s article, that of “sonic boom”. S Baker, the government’s story is a story of conspiracy. Eyewitnesses report seeing a military plane circling the Flight 93 crash site. Norm Mineta’s 9/11 Commission testimony and Dick Cheney’s interview statements are completely contradictory. Kovach points out that at least one of the government’s spokespersons is a known liar.
I’m glad you learned a lot from DHS meetings. For the amount of fake money being shelled into a new government bureacracy (after it is taken by force from hard-working citizens), I would hope someone would learn something. Why don’t you spend some time with the Kovach article and read all the points carefully laid out?
It is quite possible that some or all of the facts laid out will eventually point in different directions. But they will never explain why the FBI to this day does not put responsibility for the 9/11 attacks on their bin Laden webpage.
I’m glad that you at least admit that we are in this for the next “50 years and beyond,” a statement that speaks volumes concerning the ruling elite’s true intentions.
Terrorism is a tactic waged since the beginning of time by many different types of people. It is also on the rise after the Iraq invasion, years after “Mission Accomplished.” Terrorism as an idea will never be defeated, just like the War on Drugs. There are other ways of dealing with it, and free people need honest government.

Yes, brmerrick, some of us do have to pay taxes if you want to provide for the common defense, infrastructure, hiways, etc. I pay more than my share and you best thank a soldier for doing his part. Let me provide an example of what you are getting for your tax money besides a military, law enforcement, and emergency responders. Foot and mouth disease (FMD) is present in more than 50 countries around the world–this is a devasting disease affecting cloven-hoofed livestock and wildlife. The USDA-APHIS has done a masterful job of preventing entry into this country — our last case appeared in 1929. Are you getting your money’s worth.
If the money is “fake” why do you object to having it taken from you? What does the FBI webpage have to do with anything? What the hell is your point of truth here? So they don’t have OBL as the perpetrator on their webpage–what does this prove? It doesn’t prove anything, you may think it suggests something by which you can construct a conspiracy theory, but that is a conspiracy theory, not reality.

Please enlighten us on how the U.S. should be dealing with terrrorism or for that matter, murder, theft, fraud etc. You know, all those issues that have been waged since the beginning of time.
For the record, I don’t believe all politicians are honest, but in general, most government officials are decent people at about the same incidence as the population as a whole.
On a less strident note, I bet you are probably a nice guy and I am sure we share common ground, but I fear you are a bit misguided and influenced by ideas that have insufficient evidence to prove your point.
