Racism Charge No Reason To Apologize
As expected, my last piece on no longer apologizing to Muslims drew the expected responses. Here are a couple….
"Ya know, I'm old enough to remember when folks talked about black people this way. Somehow managed to repeat only the bad stories, the worst examples, the ugliest crimes. Complained that "they" were demanding too much, that "they" ought to stop trying to change the way "we" liked things to be. People really did that (some still do). They didn't see themselves as bigots, but realists, just telling it like it is.
"I am tired of apologizing to Muslims"
They too said they were tired of apologizing, but ya know, I never heard them apologize at all."
And there was this one.
“Bob, what name would you call yourself? You've used the words intolerant and unapologetic. You've described Muslims in the worst terms possible. Is there another word besides racist that you would like us to use?”
It's truly amazing how unoriginal the liberal template of response is to those who disagree with them. Throw out the “r-word” and that should shut me up, right?

Ya know, “unoriginal” is an effective word to describe these left wingers. What unadulterated morons.
Here’s another proof: Some months ago, I wrote an editorial calling for George W. Bush to “stand down.” And just to make my POV clear, I created a website (georgewbushstanddown.com) and posted a link to the editorial at the top of every one of MND’s 100,000 or so pages.
For my trouble, MND suffered a significant traffic contraction in the ensuing months as the most hard-core Bush supporters (example: Will Malven) apparently got mad and left. It’s only in the past couple of months that traffic has returned to its earlier levels.
Not content to accept my simple declaration of “no confidence” in President Bush, a silly little leftwinger named “David” has now begun to post to my new site, and — unbelievably — has now called me out to “kick my ass” in an alley-fight.
ROTFLOL
Oh, man. What trees do these dweebs grow on….or swing from?

Bob said: “I also believe they [Muslims] are being given into, not out of cultural compassion, but of fear of retaliation.”
It think it’s a combination of both misguided compassion and fear, with fear dominating (the main or real reason), and compassion being used as a justification to hide the fact that we are afraid. So we tell ourselves we are tolerant, compassionate, etc, instead of admitting our fear and taking action.
Calling people racist is just a shaming tactic. Again, it plays on fear. Some (many?) people won’t speak up for *fear* of being called racist.
