Sep. 20 – The Iraqi PM is disputing the Blackwater version of a weekend shooting that left at least 11 people dead.
Iraq and the U.S. are jointly investigating Sunday’s incident in Baghdad’s Nusor Square, but that hasn’t stopped the Iraqi prime minister from disputing the security contractor’s version of the shootings. Nuri al-Maliki says he won’t tolerate “the killing of our citizens in cold blood”. A U.S. military official, meantime, has praised Iraqis for showing restraint in the wake of the killings.
