Singer Britney Spears loses custody battle

Pop singer Britney Spears will have to give up custody of her children following a court’s ruling today.

Spears’ ex-husband, Kevin Federline, is to have custody of their children by noon Wednesday.

According to Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Scott M. Gordon’s ruling, Federline will retain custody of the children “until further order of the court.”

The ruling came in part by the testimony of Spears’ former body guard, Tony Barretto, who said that Spears had a substance abuse problem.

Barretto recalled this memory hours before a concert, “She appeared to be under the influence, she was kind of incoherent, she was looking for her cell phone … she was biting her nails, her pupils were dilated, didn’t conversate well, sweating, acting nervously.”

Barretto said he knew Spears did drugs at least two times in Hollywood nightclubs.

25-year-old Spears and 29-year-old Federline were married in October of 2004 and have two children: Sean Preston, 2 and Jayden James, 1.

Starting September 18, 2007, Spears was ordered to submit random drug tests following her engagement in what the court called “habitual, frequent, and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol.”

Spears has also been ordered to spend eight hours a week working with a parenting counselor.

Also, this ruling came 10 days after Spears was charged in a hit and run and for driving without a license.

On November 7, 2006, Spears filed for a divorce from her husband. Almost eleven months later she loses custody of her children.

My wife filed for divorce from me, and with in fifteen minutes before a family judge, I lost custody of my child, though I do not drink, do drugs, or flash my viginia in public.

Personally, I don’t celebrate this as a victory for mens’ rights. I believe it’s a tragedy when a child loses a parent, whether mother or father. She has just shown immaturity, not hostility toward her kids, so she should at least get supervised visitation with them. A parents’ connection with their children should be protected to the greatest extent possible without harming them.

First off, why is it a national event when some doped up pop-tart loses custody of HER children, and a non-event when thousands of great fathers who did nothing wrong have the same thing done to them every day?

Second, a few hours with a “counselor” and a clean pee test and SHE will get custody returned to HER. It makes no difference how well off they are with their father, it’s HER that matters most.

Third, government must get out of the BUSINESS of eliminating parents and instead provide services to help make them better parents, absent a trial by jury conviction for abuse, neglect, molestation, or murder.

A woman in Ohio has pulled an Andrea Yates and drowned her children in the bathtub. The AP story I saw protects her identity but mentions the name of the father. When media and government insist that mothers can do nothing wrong and should be protected, and fathers can do nothing right and should be targeted and criminalized, and facts are irrelevant, that spells disaster for children, and we see more and more of it every day.

You’re right DCF. The minute the judge is “satisfied” with her, Kfed will have them ripped away from him. The restraining order will probably come down the same day.

I’d like to say just chill out and enjoy a rare MRM victory, but this ain’t one. But I’ll bet some will paint it that way.

I give it about 2 months and she will get them back…another year and Federline will get them after another “binge” or other irresponsible act.. This will go on and on. The kids will be utterly destroyed because the pervurse (one sided) justice we have in this country. IMO

Well, at least we now know what it takes for a mother to loose custody and a father to get it!

Judge Gordon and his entourage are criminals. They should be sued by 42 USC, section 1985, as a group of civil servants acting to deprive American citizens of their constitutionally protected rights. The plaintiffs are Sean and Jayden; defenseless American children with a natural right to be raised by their own parents. Brittney and Kevin are self-centered morons and they prove every day that they are still kids themselves. Sean and Jayden need their grandparents right now to step-up and protect their own grandchildren’s basic human rights. How do they reconcile their callous indifference while they manipulate their babies like slaves? These children are human beings, not the family Ferrari.

We are so overcome by the creeping crud running ramped in our society. We are unable to see the forest from the trees. The criminals are the tyrants and despots in control of our legislatures and courthouses. They are wicked, evil arbiters of heinous crimes against our children. When will the ‘great duped society’ wake up and smell the roses … er, the stench from the sewers?
