Amazing isnt it how much in DENIAL are advocacy groups too like Justice for Children, (Houston Phoenix, Michigan, and D.C.) , Stop Family Violence, Courageous Kids, and Legal Momentum (adjunct org to the National Organization of Women), Mary Kay Foundation, including such politicos as Rep. Ted Poe (Houston)and David Lujan, Arizona and others.

They repudiate even the idea this disease exists!

AS I have said before I and my daughter are direct victims of the EVIL ONES who compose the Justice for Children, Houston Texas, Founder, Randy Burton.

Richard Gardner was full of perception on this subject. Yes its the courts and the process and all the addicted ones attached to the financial gain possible from it. I was told by a lawyer that the Family Courts is one of the richest veins in the courthouse! Quick and certain action. These alienators are the spoiled brats of the household. They learned nothing but manipulation and control. They have no substance or form.

Another Richard, Mr. Richard Wilbur, told it well many years before Gardner with his poem "The Undead". I must thank my friend Stan Sawyer for showing me to Richard Wilbur. Any one for a few scenes from the "Night of the Living Dead"??

I just may have been 'born again'.

I have often said peace is the best thing that we , as divorced parents, can do for our children. PAS is just a weapon of war, a war most often started by women, though to be fair not always! The only way to make the system change its behavior is to cut off the money, power and control. PAS gives the courts more of all three. So, cutting off the "life support" for this evil system will slowly, but surely stop this awful practice.
When the courts( I call them tribunals) have to make joint physical/legal custody the norm and shared parenting replace the extortion racket that it child support, then this God awful practice stop! Women will no longer have total control and total access. The only heart wrenching problem. like all issue reguarding parental rights, is that the damage and the loses are often permanant. It difficult to " deprogram" a child damaged.... no I say violated, by this evil act. And it is impossible to get back the lost years!
I say this, the day PAS is outlawed and the punishment for it is very severe, is a day that I will rejoice. Oh we will have to come down hard on a whole lot of people who have attitude" We don't have to obey no stinking PAS law" It will take tough penalties and we will have to make judges impose them and put some of them ( judges) in jail for doing it aswell!

p.s. thanx Dave, I had read Gardner's thesis back in the 90's and was aware of the syndrome as I was living thru that hell. I appreciate you renewing interest in it even if my battle is slowly ebbing (as my daughter is getting older). The words you wrote broght back the horrors many of us lived thru. The sad part is that soooooo many dads won't read this of remember what they went thru because of so many mentally ill women.

For the record: I was one of those "targetde parents", and as described a male. My Attorney knew the term, knew the seriousness of PAS and actually used the wors during the many trials we all suffered through because my ex-wife was mentally ill.

One of the judges during the 84 visits to court was an ex therapist who had become a lawyer and subsequently a judge must have known the term as well. He gave me custody 24/7 (10 years and counting) of my daughter.

This is as real as it gets. This syndrome is real and practiced on a daily basis. Even in families where there is NO divorce and generally by women. Guys, women hate men for the most part and the best way they have to destroy the relationship we have with our kids is thru PAS.

Read the words carefully, think about the daily attacks women perform on men across the board. It's real.

just wanted to point out that grandparents can, if they are educated to the facts and dangers of this, make it worse, or help the child by supporting both parents equally and becoming aware of when this is happening. if you are close (emotionally) to the child and know what to look for PA is easy to spot. i have witnessed it first hand twice.

a cure for this would be the automatic presumption of full joint custody. for PA to work the child must be kept for prolonged periods of time away from the NC parent.

too much $$$ being made by CS/divorce industry for any positive changes to happen. when was the last time we had a positive change in the way anything in this nightmare family court system was changed for the good? not going to happen. it is next to impossible to stop any system in the u.s. that is making money. especially if lawyers are making lotsa money. federal matching funds, $$$$$$$$.

The alienating parent- right!
Gee, is there an estimate on who the chiild resides with from the onset of such dilemmas?
What's the range of expenses for these "therapists" and "evaluators" for the duration
that these cases typically drag on?
How about the legal fees? Is there an average ballpark figure to be expected?
Aaaannnd- Who pays?

I'll bet that would certainly put a drain on the resources that "the target parent" has
to throw in to a needless hole.
