‘I have been prohibited from quoting Warren Farrell in a University classroom’

2007-11-07
By

Warren Farrell (pictured), the ideological wellspring of the men’s and fathers’ movement, just sent out an interesting letter he received from one of his readers. The reader, Mark, writes:

“Dear Dr. Farrell,

“I have been prohibited from quoting your book in a University of Massachusetts classroom. The class is titled, ‘Women in Psychology.’ The class actually teaches feminism. The class was told that your book is a compilation of lies, and your theories do not deserve to be addressed. Furthermore, I may not cite your book in any research papers.

“I wrote you to ask your advice on how to handle this situation. You have undoubtedly come across this before. I would hope you could share a few ideas on how I could handle myself in such a hostile environment.”

Imagine that–a Massachusetts university professor banning a men’s movement text–unbelievable, but totally believable…

Warren’s new book Does Feminism Discriminate Against Men? was recently reviewed in the Canadian National Post here.

I am sure he would be allowed to quote the “SCUM Manifesto by Valerie Solanas. We all know how honest that book was.

In reality, if that class could only teach things that were based upon fact, they would have nothing to teach unless they changed the course outline.

…We are experienceing one of the only modern accepted forms of censorship left… feminist cenorship!!

This is where the American universities have slouched to!!

History will judge the last 50 years with concern!!!

…Feminist know that warren Farrells ” the myth of male power” Is so thouroughly docmented and persuasive…That it is one of the greatest threats to the politically correct women-as-victim….hysteria juggernaut!!!

This guy should contact the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education at http://www.thefire.org/index.php/topic/11.

They have lawyers and they sue schools.

Secondly, it is my theory that one could withdraw and go to another school, and then do a creative lawsuit against the school for:

    a. sexual harassment (what they are doing is controlling, demeaning, and abusive behavior based on sex).

    b. Suing them under consumer protection laws for a full refund. The course is mislabelled. The University is providing illegitimate credit in psychology for a women’s studies course, and the student is the victim of a bait-and-switch. Consumer protection suit against a college should get some major media attention. As part of the request for relief, the college should be forced to discontinue all women’s interdisciplinary studies programs. Also, colleges often force professors in core curricula to teach a feminist class in order to be employed at the college. In most colleges, the women’s studies program has the highest head-count. The purpose of the “feminist draft” is to require other professors to submit to feminism, and regurgitate it on command. So, as part of the request for relief, they should also require the college terminate the “feminist draft” into the women’s studies department.

Note: many social science courses that have been subverted by edicts forced on core sciences by activists working the “women’s interdisplinary studies” channels. Women’s Interdisciplinary studies are actually advanced training grounds for feminist student activists. Women’s studies departments send students into other departments with the creative theories du-jours to inject feminist hyperbole into other sciences. It is a doctrinaire cult forcing itself on the university, metastacizing itself into everything, including the men’s room.

We forbid any course that says we restrict free speech. – Kathleen Dixon, the director of the women’s studies department at Bowling Green State University in Ohio

I wonder how the student got involved in the course in the first place. It’s not a required course. Aren’t there advisors who should provide information about the nature of the course – descriptions in the course catalogue that should identify the course as a “Women’s Studies” course – i.e. feminist indoctrination course? (BTW: U of Mass has many of those – but as far as I can tell, none are required unless you’re doing your minor or an advanced degree in feminism).

    Borat 4 Barack

Asked by reporters who he supports in the upcoming U.S. presidential election, Borat answers:

“I cannot believe that it possible a woman can become Premier of US and A. In Kazakhstan, we say that to give a woman power, is like to give a monkey a gun – very dangerous. We do not give monkeys guns any more in Kazakhstan ever since the Astana Zoo massacre of 2003 when Torkin the orang-utan shoot 17 schoolchildrens. I personal would like the basketball player, Barak Obamas to be Premier.”

Feminist Clinton Stiffs Single, Working Mom for Tip.

I [a reporter] followed Clinton during a recent bus tour across Iowa, when she and her entourage pulled into a Maid-Rite, a greasy spoon famous for its loose-meat sandwich. Clinton settled into a red stool at the counter, ate a sandwich, chatted with her waitress and then was on her way.

The scene gave Clinton perfect fodder for her next few stump speeches. Turns out her waitress was a single, working mom — just the kind of voter Democrats are courting aggressively this year.

Clinton recalled the meeting for an audience up the road in Boone. “The woman waiting on us — it was her first day,” she said, adding, “She was a little nervous. Single mom, raised two boys, works at a nursing home and always has a second job.”

If she’s elected president, Clinton promised, people like her waitress will have it better.

The way Clinton eased the waitress into her rhetoric is something repeated day after day, by all the campaigns. But in the process, people like the waitress don’t always have their stories told.

    ‘Nobody Got Left a Tip’

“I wished I would have been asked first,” the waitress, Anita Esterday, said of Clinton’s decision to insert her in a speech, adding, “I wish she would have asked if she could talk about me later. I didn’t like it when someone called me up and said Hillary Clinton is talking about you. It’s like, what’d I do now? What’s she saying?”
When I returned to the Maid-Rite a few weeks later, Esterday said the senator had caught her off guard. But once they got talking, she was honest with Clinton about her need to work two to three jobs.

Esterday does not think Clinton got it. “I don’t think she understood at all what I was saying,” Esterday said, adding, “I mean, nobody got left a tip that day.”

This just shows that the family law reform movement and the advance of fathers/mens rights is on the move. You see hatemongers like the feminist and their lackeys in higher education know that the end of their little reign of terror is close at hand. They fear people exposing just who they are and what they are really up to.
Once exposed, it is the beginning of the end for people like the feminist. Just like communism and Hitler’s thousand year Reich, they don’t want to be beaten and vanquished. They have planned on staying around a while , the problem is that if they stay around a while, society may not be staying around at all.

He could try playing a game with her. There are many other men’s rights and conservative authors that are sufficient to get this woman into a swoon that she didn’t mention: Christina Hoff Sommers, Ann Coulter, Phylas Schlafly.

He could do a paper citing one of these authors and when she bans that author, he can just move onto the next. In addition, he could just use the straight facts presented by the authors and present them himself direct from the source.

If she attacks him and threatens to fail him in the class, he could argue that the facts he presents are valid and therefore of scientific value and demand a hearing from the board.

    The usual questions-
    “…a University of Massachusetts classroom”
    Which campus EXACTLY?
“The class was told that your book is a compilation of lies, and your theories do not deserve to be addressed.”
    Who EXACTLY proclaimed this?
“”I have been prohibited from quoting your book..”
    Or WHAT?
“…I may not cite your book in any research papers.”
    Or WHAT?

    Say what you wand.
    Write what you want.
    Cite who you want.
Respectfully ask this unnamed (why?) “teacher”-before a jury of the rest of the class- to present their credentials,
their peer reviewed rebuttal of Mr. Farrell’s work, or STFU and consider a more appropriate career- with a polite invitation to kiss your ass.

Send this one off to Dr. Helen!

Check out your local high school or college “gender studies” book list. I ask them if they knew of women with PhD’s from Harvard in education who disagreed with feminist views of how women have been slighted in education, or female medical doctors that disagree with feminist views of the “male medical establishments prejudice against women, or perhaps the first women to open a safe house if she disagrees with feminist views that all most all significant abuse comes from men, would they include those books among the 50 or so that bash men from a feminist perspective. Most feminist I know don’t even know that their are such women protesting feminist propaganda or that there are views entirely different about gender issues than those spouted by gender feminists. The term “equity feminist” is still missing and so is misandry.

How is it possible that they still have such a firm grip in academia that they are teaching others what to think instead of how to think and no one challenges them?
