Michael Yon’s photograph on November 8, 2007 depicts moment of prescience frozen in time in Baghdad, Iraq

Though prescient fishing is gone
from dominant media ponds,
our troops risking lives
to help it survive
get credit from whom? Michael Yon.

Said Yon, long ago, MSM
shows losses but rarely shows wins,
so Yon risked his life
to cover the strife
while also reporting on wins.

Today, on the Eighth of November
he shows an event we’ll remember:
A prescient act
performed in Iraq
so hate is by freedom dismembered.

Said Churchill when asked “Are we winning?”
“Not yet is the ending beginning,
but yet we can say
events through today
are marking the ‘end of beginning’.”

On old Iwo Jima our flag
when raised by Marines not to “brag”
that battle they’d “won”–
It showed they’d begun
when heroes at first raised the flag.

To people with prescient brains
events thought by some as “mundane”
give insights to show
where hist’ry will go,
while others in darkness remain.

You ask “What event does Yon show?”
It’s Christians and Muslims as “bros”
performing such act
in Baghdad, Iraq.

And Yon’s not alone, rest assured,
in knowing the best can endure–
The blogosphere’s right
is shining the light
like Day-By-Day’s author, Chris Muir.
