Misogyny and Stupidity Over Female Baseball Umpire

Background: Recently I lamented the release of female baseball umpire Ria Cortesio (pictured). Her release also reminded me of one of the stupidest and most misogynistic blog comments I’ve ever seen.

It was written as a response to my blog post Will the First Woman Major League Umpire Improve Baseball?, in which I speculated that a female umpire might help cut down on some of the asinine umpire blaming and baiting that goes on in baseball. My theory is that since the vast majority of men are gentlemen (though feminists will never admit it), a female umpire will be treated with far more courtesy than a male umpire.

Misogynist/radical masculist “GrizzlieAntagonist” doesn’t like Cortesio, doesn’t like me, and wrote:

“Baseball is a religion, and, regardless of objective qualifications, a female presence of any sort is an abomination, and Glenn Sacks is a wuss…is there any doubt that this umpiress hates men? What was her motivation for becoming an umpiress anyway? Love of the game? No way! Women don’t love anything, and they sure don’t love baseball. The motivation surging through her black evil heart was hatred of men. She wanted to impose upon a male pastime with her presence. She wanted to urinate on it.”

Gee, and here I thought she just enjoyed her job…

Just out of curiosity, on what did you base that assumption? Why didn’t she enjoy her job just as much umpiring for women’s baseball? And when are we men going to be allowed to enjoy our sports jobs participating in women’s sports?

I know, I know. Women are just more equal than us men. Not only that, I must be just another one of those “misogynist/radical masculists”.

Thank goodness we have Glenn out there protecting MND readers from those nasty misogynist/radical masculists!

Glenn, men are released every day from employment in professional sports, and they cannot expect much in the way of sympathy when they are suddenly unemployed.

Rio Cortesio chose employment in a man’s world.

And when she was deemed not worthy of employment, she shouldn’t receive one iota more sympathy than any other sports professional released from their contract.

I am reminded of those female “sports journalists” who sued for the right to interview male athletes in locker rooms immediately after games…. with their lawsuits upheld in courts of law.

To date, no male “sports journalist” has been permitted inside female athletes’ locker rooms immediately after THEIR games.

Don’t lose too much sleep on behalf of the poor female umpire, Glenn.

Yes, I agree that the guy went overboard in his comment, but I do not understand why Glenn Sacks has to put such a NOW-sounding blog post screaming misogyny. I had to doublecheck to make sure that I was in Glenn’s website, not in NOW’s website.

Why this girl ref needed to call men’s game? Why not girl’s baseball or softball. Is it because she thinks men’s games are better? Is she SEXIST? Why girls trying out in men’s game needed to be treated with such sympathy and prefernce, while men referring/coaching in girl’s sports are at best treated as necessary evil, or temporary measures until suitable female ref’s/coachs arrive to take place?

And do we realy want female refs in major professinal sports? Remember, they are not EQUALS, they are PROTECTED people who belong to SPECIAL CLASS. That is why men can never win in courts, etc.

If we admit one girl ref in MLB, this will open up Pandra’s box. You think feminists would be happy to have just ONE ref in MLB, out of hundreds of refs in the league? That’s less than mere 1 percent! It would naturally follow, in our Title IX mentality that premeates society, that the gender composition of refs should mirror the demographics of the fans, or better yet, the whole society. Thus we will have to have over 50 percent female refs. And why only MLB? How about NHL, NBA, NFL, etc.? I am not into sports really so I don’t know well, but if there is such thing as referree hall of fame or best referee of the month/year, then of course females need to comprise at least, XX percent (you now what percentage). And of course any aggressive argument against girl refs will be considered a form of “sexual harassment” (who doesn’t feel “uncomfortable” if big hunky guys are frothing at your face) and worse, persecuted as sexual assault and “rape”.
