And lives are at stake here. The people of Kivalina didn't have a choice when they moved to the current site they are in. The federal and state governments decided for the village where they will live permanently, erecting a school building on the island. They decided for the people of Kivalina and now they are responsible for the consequences of their actions! Regardless of what this man thinks, science tells us that most coastal villages will eventually end up undersea.
