Many of the presidential candidates are running on the promise of change. Some are saying they will make more changes than the others.
Is this a good thing? No! Change causes trouble! Think about it. Most of the problems we have today were caused by changes we made in the past.
We changed the tax structure from the graduated income tax to an almost flat tax resulting in a nine trillion dollar national debt that is totally out of control.
We changed our foreign trade policy and went from a trade surplus to a five trillion dollar deficit and the loss of millions of industrial jobs.
We changed our immigration policy and now have twelve to twenty million illegal immigrants in this country and more coming in every day.
We changed our non-aggressive foreign policy and got the disasters of Vietnam and Iraq.
How many more changes can we take before we have to move to Bangladesh to improve our standard of living?
Does this mean that we should never make changes? Of course not. But make them keeping in mind that “change causes trouble†and be prepared to deal with it – something the authors of the above named changes failed to do.
