Is This Legal?

This CarMax TV commercial actually portrays a father positively and a female negatively.

No, that’s not a misprint.

It’s actually, for once, man good/woman bad.

Is this legal?

There is a program where girls turn 16 and have a coming out party. A girl got a nice car, a Lexus I think, and she went off on her parents for running her party and giving her the wrong car, screaming like that and then swearing and saying “I hate you” … I saw this last year and I believe it ended up on U tube.

I don’t know about ‘legal’ but such a depiction of a chap being shown positively is clearly offensive to women and yet another example of the Patriarchy oppressing all women and girls, gerbils and other sundry fauna.

    Men!! ™.

imho this is NOT a positive image of a father. a strong father raises a respectful loving daughter who appreciates gifts from her parents. it does say a lot about this society though. not too far from typical.

And then her Dad, instead of taking her out back and paddling her, caves and gets her the “correct” color:

It would seem that our most important job is to educate and convince our brothers to stop this madness, to stop spoiling our daughters. Girls should never have their sense of entitlement encouraged, and fathers like that guy need to understand the damage that it does. Every time a father over-indulges his daughter, it makes it worse for every other man.

To quote Pogo: We have seen the enemy, and it is us.

Not even close Glenn. This is a play on that stupid spoiled brat that whined and cried after she got the incorrect color car. In otherwords, this ACTUALLY HAPPENED. It is not a stereotype. It HAPPENED.

Now, lets talk about the new dominos commercial shall we? Oh wait, the actions of the woman in THAT commercial probably really happens as well. But it’s funny! right?

I know! How about the commercial of the father throwing a tantrum and wifey and son telling him to “grow up”… Oh wait, THAT’S funny too! Right?

No wait! O got it! Know what would really sell that commercial? If she gave him a well deserved boot in the nads just as she runs off… immediately followed by a scolding look from mommy dearest as she storms off as well to console her poor poor widdow princess…..Now THAT would sell it baby!

Sorry Glenn, maybe you shouldn’t continue to get your opinions on sexism from your new pal Jessica V….

Didja guys notice? The point of the commercial was a 5 day MONEY back guarantee! Get it?

They should have shown him getting the money back and buying himself a fishing boat.

If that was indeed the point… then why not show him ACTUALLY doing it? Like any good parent would have done?

No, the point was to show yet again how men are of course stupid, have no clue about their children, and can be bullied and villified in front of everyone….

And they didn’t even have to dream this one up! They just had to model if from REALITY!
