My recent His Side with Glenn Sacks radio commentary for KLAA AM 830 in Los Angeles commends Michael McManus, the founder of Marriage Savers, for his increasingly vocal endorsement of Shared Parenting. This is in contrast to some Christian conservatives’ meager efforts to defend marriage and fatherhood from the ravages of our current family law system.

Shattered Men has been doing this since 1999 but we do not ask for “shared” parenting, we ask for “equal” parenting. You see, with shared parenting, One parent could have the kids all month except for one weekend and it would be shared. Equal parenting means just that…it is equal time and equal responsibility for our children.
It is nice to see a Christian ministry such as Marriage Savers being recognized. I sure know that we can not get Shattered Men recognized by anyone including you. We are in no man’s land since we are Bible based, secular groups do not recognize us and since we do focus on abused men, Christian ministries including Focus on the Family, the 700 Club and Moody Broadcasting will not give us the time of day. Shattered Men has kept about three dozen people that we know of from suicide and we have helped hundreds if not thousands. In fact, we had a thousand members before someone hacked into Shattered Men and destroyed it but that has not stopped us. We have done all of this with few resources as we have never asked anything in return and we will not commercialize our website by selling ads. Our only interest is helping others heal from the scars of abuse. We could help more if they only knew about us. I am sure there are hundreds of men and women who would be interested in a faith based site that addresses both abused men and women but shhhhh…lets keep Shattered Men a secret!
