Actually, the federal intrusion into family law is a "tar baby of enormous proportions.” That's why federal action is required - to get the federal government out of the business of domestic relations, just like Gerald Ford promised when he signed the original bill that had the creation of the federal office of child support enforcement tagged on as an unpopular amendment.

It's funny but a lot of democrats now have bad feelings towards Hillary for the similar reasons that we have towards Captain Amnesty. If McCain wins the nomination, I'm teetering between either not voting for any presidential candidate OR voting for Hillary JUST TO MAKE SURE he doesn't get in. At the same time, angry Obama supporters who love RINO's might be voting for McCain.

This may be the first election where the president will be decided by voters _against_ their party's candidate. It's going to be one hell of a ride.

Last year, I was down at my state capital lobbying for shared parenting.

At one point, and much to my surprise, out steps Mr. Mccain and was standing on the front steps, discussing something with his two body guards.

I walked up to him, shook his hand and had a short exchange - he asked why I was there, and I gave him a brief description of shared parenting, and asked him his thoughts on it.

And sadly, he stumbled and mumbled, hemmed and hawed. Finally he said he'd have to 'look into the issue', but that he admired the fact that, as a citizen I was taking the opportunity to be involved.

He hadn't declared for the presidency at that point, but asked me, if he did, would I vote for him?

I laughed and said, well I'll vote for someone other than that woman. We shared a laugh and that was the end of the discussion.

I wrote his campaign and mentioned this conversation and that he'd said he'd 'have to look into it' ... meaning shared parenting.
