McCain’s temper may prove to be a liability

USA Today. WASHINGTON – John McCain is known for his temper. The presumptive Republican presidential nominee has been dubbed “Senator Hothead” by more than one publication.

Even his Republican Senate colleagues have not been spared his sharp tongue. McCain, who had a 22-year career as a naval aviator before launching his political career in 1982, does not delete the expletives when angry.

“F— you,” he shouted at Sen. John Cornyn last year.

“Only an a– —- would put together a budget like this,” he told the former Budget Committee chairman, Sen. Pete Domenici, in 1999.

“I’m calling you a f—— jerk!” he once retorted to Sen. Chuck Grassley.

continue …

Stiff Right Jab responds: Point 1. Is Senator McCain the man to be trusted with the red button?

Point 2. Notice the media was quiet about this obvious liability until the more principled and conservative Romney was pushed out of the race.

Point 3. Expect the Evangelicals and Christian right to be hammered next as untrustworthy to hold political office, since they couldn’t keep their sectarian prejudices from clouding their vision about what’s fair, and right, and honest, and in their country’s best interest.

Parting insight: In summary, too many of the Republican Party faithful were duped by the very media they are always telling everybody they know, not to trust, not to watch, not to support.

Wait and see. Hugh Hewitt in his book “Mormon In the White House?” predicted this one over a year ago. He was right.

Any questions?

Stiff Right Jab: Independent and intelligent, punchy and precise news and commentary that stands up for faith, family, and freedom – and stiff right jabs humanism, socialism, and internationalism.
