Texas Polygamy Case: ‘Boys as Young as 13 Are Expelled from Group & Left to Fend for Themselves’

“Recent news reports about a Texas polygamist compound highlight the abuse of underage girls by compelling them to marry men two or three times their age under threat of excommunication.

“But very little attention has been paid to the abuse and neglect of the boys. Even those as young as 13 are frequently expelled from the compound and forced to fend for themselves without education, friends, or adult guidance…

“The excommunication of boys has been occurring for years and nothing has been done. Are state officials ignoring this problem? Why? –  this is child neglect. Will charges be brought against the members of the sect for neglecting their male children, or only for the sexual exploitation of the girls?”

Excellent, excellent post by Ned Holstein of Fathers & Families on the Texas polygamy issue, pointing out the plight of hundreds of boys who have been booted out of the polygamist cult and cut off from their families. Read it here.

I’m amazed nobody spoke about how CPS told mothers if they wanted their children back they had to leave their husbands/fathers of the children and go to womens shelters and attend treatment for battered women.

The 6 women that went to the shelter left after the state told them they wouldn’t see their children, they are all back at the ranch.

And its still a crime of neglect of they put a boy on the streets, if its true, they need to be prosecuted. There is no excuse for child abuse.

This is typical for anything CPS gets involved in. Many of the women in Shattered Men have told me that CPS told them similar things to this. They use the VAWA to do it. VAWA strongly advocates the breakup of marriages for any problems that occur. I know one couple that lost custody of their TEN children because one son who at an early age played “doctor” with one of his sisters. CPS insisted that she accuse her husband of abuse and divorce him. When she would not, CPS stole their ten children. Several have returned to them but a few are still alinated from them.

I contend that Child Protective Services should really be called MOMMY Protective Services as I know far more women who have been protected then the children they have abused.

What CPS has done is disgusting, and this is just feeding the lie storm. The “16 year-old victim” has turned out to be a fraud.
