The CPI is based on what the government has in their basket. They own the basket, so they alone decide what is in it. Since the Kennedy years, goods and services with the highest inflation rate are pulled out and replaced with those with the lowest even negative inflation numbers.

The evidence of this ongoing switcheroo to create an artificially low inflation number is there for anyone to research. The Republican years have been the worst. Do they switch as needed to hit a pre-determined value that flies just under radar?

The government also plays games with the unemployment rate by now not counting mustered-out military service members, teachers in the summer months, and other groups looking for work as unemployed.

David

I commend you for attempting to bring this huge problem to everyone's attention. Our Central Bank (the Federal Reserve) is currently attempting to destroy our country's economy.

The Federal Reserve is not required to disclose to our government how much money they print out of thin air. The FED is only responsible for managing inflation, which allows them to be very creative as to how they measure their performance (they ignore the price of homes and keep track of the price of rents).

The FED has used the legacy of debt by failed foreign currencies (the peso, yen) and used that debt as collateral to print more money or extend more credit (which creates even more debt).

Home loans are being transfered from mortgage companies to the US taxpayers while the banks are still receiving the interest payments from the homeowners.

The US went to war with Iraq because Saddam refused to accept the US dollar to buy his oil, and Iran and Venezuela are threatening to do the same.

Our Central bank is waging a 'Currency War' against the world and is intimidating other country's Central banks to debase their currency to bring the US dollar back in line.

There are plans afoot by those who really run this country (not repubs and dems, but those these groups really work for) to force everyone in the USA, Canada and Mexico to begin using the Amero. How will they do this?

By making the federal reserve dollar completely worthless.
