I would hope they draw blood. (They will.) Unfortunately, it will be each others'.

I agree with almost everything you've said, and the differences are merely those of degree.

The Fannie and Freddie bailouts must not be allowed to happen, but they will happen anyway. The authority sought is unconstitutional, because it is provided for nowhere in the Constitution. This scale of creation of money is massively inflationary; this is an inescapable consequence. Our kids are being put into debt to pay off rich people who made bad investments. And the only remaining way to avoid it now is to leave and renounce citizenship.

That measure is becoming worthy of consideration. Unless the system falls apart and the banksters are dethroned. More likely we shall have a dictator on the other side of this crisis. Then you will need your gold just to bribe your way across the border.

What do you lifelong Bush supporters (who frequent this site) think of this crap now? Endless war, endless borrowing to support endless spending, endless need to domestic crackdowns, endless transfer of wealth from poor to rich. All culminating in a massive power grab called "better regulation." And your currency is toilet paper. We haven't even started.

When the banks fail en masse (they will) and the FDIC runs out of money (it will), and when government checks are no longer honored (this is already happening, right now), what do you think the next move will be? Cops keeping people away from banks? Protest absolutely not tolerated? What do you think will happen when people can't write checks to buy groceries? Or if they can't afford the groceries that are in the stores?
