Let me see, we're supposed to get "facts" about a military confrontation between Russia and Georgia from a russian military blog and to accept these facts on the basis that dead (allegedly) Georgian soldiers did not expect russion forces to "come through the Roki Tunnel so quickly to respond (and not take prisoners)."?

Russians are trustworthy because their armed forced don't take prisoners? What are you smoking?

Georgia is guilty of an act of aggression against Russia because Georgian troops attempted to restore order in a Georgian province? The Russian spin on this situation is simply surreal.

(Double post, one for each Georgia related article)

European politicians are ticked off - Russia's attack in Georgia is an unacceptable war.

And a Swedish security expert was on the news tonight, having advised the Swedish government that Russia should be removed from the Council of Europe - because they don't follow the rules that are in the nature of its members. He also mentioned that the G8 is a similar organization. If Russia is allowed to stay, then these can no longer be considered serious organizations and will be ignored.

Saakvashili was "trying to solve this problem now"?

What? Military action against Russia was needed to "finally solve a problem"?

What?

Do you think so little of Russia that you think military action against them would succeed?

If Bush had actually properly trained the Georgian commandoes and given them wonder weapons that could push the Russians out of Abkhazia, we might all be dead by now.

The Russians aren't leaving Abkhazia, ever.

Please understand that clearly.

Now knowing the absolute futility of trying to subdue these provinces to Georgian rule, do you like the idea that Negroponte might have trained death squads for use against Russian men?

Do you think Russians are like Islamofascists...who generally hide or runaway as we slowly destroy them?

This thinking may have been at the heart of those Americans who trained death squads who went into South Ossetia, did some not-nice things and whom the Russians have been tracking down and executing.

I may be Republican but I never gave the green light for our enemy to be Russia. This isn't the 1980s.

Go to the Russian military blog www.milkavkaz.net to see the bodies strown all over the place, including those of the Georgian shock troops who hadn't expected the Russians to come through the Roki Tunnel so quickly to respond (and not take prisoners).

Who would have given the green light for all this?

Do you really think the people of South Ossetia or Abkhazia will ever accept Georgian rule?

Sarkozy is now presenting the Georgian President with a peace plan, that needs to be signed right away, that puts the status of those regions up for negotiation and allows the Russian troops to stay there like they have been for the past 16 years.

France will turn against the USA if Bush tells Georgia to continue fighting (Israeli advisors helped knock out 50 Russian tanks but now Russia is breaking the deal they had with Israel not to sell advanced anti-aircraft missiles to Iran which is happening now - So everybody loses because of what just happened in Georgia).

There is no need to dislike Russia nor consider it not to have changed into an anti-communist and anti-feminist ally (we are now so socialist and feminist that our politicians consider Russia an enemy precisely because Russians are anti-communist and anti-feminist). This may be why the Neocons are pretending that the Russians want to invade all their neighbors again.

Please don't delete this or I will have to write an entire article condemning the one-sided neocon reaction to the Georgian War.

Of course, this subject has little to do with the subject of American men and their rights.
