Obama/Biden: Escalating the War on Fathers and Families

Tragically — but true to the radical feminist agenda — the Obama/Biden Democratic ticket portends an escalating war on boys, men, fathers, and families. On Father’s Day 2008, Sen. Obama could have spoken on any number of topics. His choice was to castigate African-American fathers and blame fathers, and fathers alone, for the ills of the African-American family.

He called upon African-American fathers to be more involved in their children’s lives (certainly a worthwhile call) but he also castigated them for failing to endorse “responsible fatherhood” which essentially means signing up for 18 years of overly highly calculated child support. Economists understand, but Sen. Obama ideologically overlooks, the reality that child support currently is calculated at a level far above what the majority of fathers — including poor and unemployed fathers — actually are capable of paying or that children require (see W. S. Comanor, The law and economics of child support payments, 2004).

So, what then does Sen. Biden bring to the ticket? Sen. Biden brings the divisive Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) which he originated, expanded, and vigorously supported in subsequent years. Unfortunately, substantial evidence now indicates that VAWA not only fails to protect women from domestic violence but in many cases increases their risk of harm and contains much fraud. What VAWA does best, however, is squander billions of taxpayer dollars annually to finance the war on fathers and families.

As promoted by divorce lawyers (see The American Bar Association’s position on Domestic Violence at www.mediaradar.org) and domestic violence shelter operators, mothers are advised that the surest path to fortune and child custody is to obtain a restraining order through VAWA by telling a judge that they are “afraid” of their husband. No physical evidence of violence or abuse is required, only her claim of “fear.” Based on this “evidence,” judges routinely and immediately grant ex-parte temporary restraining orders against husbands.

With the restraining order in hand, Sen. Biden’s VAWA removes the father from his home at any hour of the day or night, separates him from his children, requires him to stay away from his wife, and immediately orders him to begin paying child support to his wife based only on her self-reported “fear.” VAWA explicitly denies the father his Constitutionally guaranteed due process protections. Children explicitly are denied the love and companionship of fit fathers. In short, the feminist objective of destroying family life is achieved and the only real beneficiaries are the lawyers.

While Sen. Biden’s contribution to the war on fathers and families is clear, much remains to be learned about Sen. Obama and his attitudes towards fathers and families. The problem is that Sen. Obama’s book Dreams from My Father and material emanating in the media and on the web differ very substantially from one another.

In closing, and of critical importance for the balance of the presidential race, it must be noted that “change” was the seminal issue which propelled Sen. Obama from obscurity to the Democratic Nomination. Is it then not fair to ask– after three decades in the Senate — where voters are going to find “change” in Sen. Biden? And, above all else, what does Obama’s selection of Sen. Biden portend for his future appointments and the future of the American family?

Biden may be a poor choice for Obama. Obama like most career politicians is completely lost and wrong about the problems of the family and fatherhoods role in it.
We need to educate them, first by making it known publicly the it is women and the out of control system that is responsible for so many kids not having a father. We need to teach Obama and the other” wrong thinking ” politicians just what the truth is!
We first teach them the lesson, then if they don’t get it. Remove them from office! I think that will get the job done! A politician maybe just a bottom feeding skunk, but that skunk wants to keep his “cushy little job”. If it takes “smartening up” about the real problems facing the family, then they will learn it
If it takes turning on what were previously considered allies, hells bells those thieves will do it and oh will the women be surprized. It seems that the 35 million or so noncustodial parents, if sufficiently pissed of, can end a politicians career. It may be a lesson that a whole bunch of the thieving bastards have to learn he hard way, but learn they will!

Prof. Finley’s analysis is spot on. This is an incredibly important issue that has been gaining attention in DC over the past year, thanks to a handful of dedicated activists who are trying to reform VAWA to provide all due process protections for accused men and fathers re- the newly defined “domestic violence problem” that is being spearheaded by the left.

The fact that Biden, the sponsor and proponent of VAWA, the Violence Against Women Act, is now Obama’s running mate is going to add fuel to the fire.

Both Biden and Obama are severely limited in what they can say about the purported “fatherhood crisis” in America, for fear of offending trial lawyers and feminists, who have promulgated this myth for fear of losing ground in other areas where they have been able to marginalize the standing of boys, men and fathers throughout society’s institutions.

The only “fatherhood crisis” is the one being promoted
by feminists, government bureaucrats, and trial lawyers who seek to use the issue for their own sordid political motivations.

Thank you, Prof. Finley, for your article.

      Absolutely true.

And how is it possible that all these men so gravely affected by the VAWA have not joined together (or as individuals) and found a greedy lawyer to take on such an important (and likely financially rewarding) legal case?

Obama and Biden will make life very difficult for men and boys. The instruments of oppression such as VAWA and Family Court law are in place and will be used even more aggressively against men. New instruments will get enacted.

It will get very ugly for men and boys.

That Obama does not see the national self-destructive nature of the anti-family, anti-male stance that has been taken, largely driven by his much older and more experienced running mate Biden over many years, indicates that he is either ideologically blind or plain stupid.

And yet he thinks he can be President and deal with highly complex national and international issues which are a damned sight more obscure.

He doesn’t strike me as being stupid. Not droolingly so , anyway. But being blind, he would serve anyone searching for lit fuses.

Once the father are hunted down, rounded up, and exterminated, like Nazis did to Jews, only through rape-infested government prison camps, the mothers who dare to raise children other than through state dictated means will be next.

Meanwhile, mothers glibly cling to the free ride promised, but never realized, for selling out their children as they are entitled to do for owning a vagina.

The article rightly furnishes us with evidence of the duplicity and personal venalty of our leading males in authority. That is those representatives of the male gender-class whom are apparently, so concerned, charitable and kind to women but only with other mens income, person, property and progeny. Not a dimes-worth of that which is theirs is ever commited to the causes for which they advocate so much misery on the rest of mankind.

These mendacious creatures of public service get where they do, only on account of their persistent auctioning off to females and other interested bidders, of the rights of males both living and yet to be born.

They diminish themselves and the status of their sex-class for good fees and prosperous careers, caring not for one second to contribute personally to their attested causes.

A clever person must then ask what is wrong in society with the socialisation and education of males, that permits of such creatures as Bidden or Obama, a place in the sun and ascendance ? Because the ansewer isn’t simply feminist contaminartion, but a degeneracy of maleness and male culture.

Chicken - Egg ? Egg - chicken? Maybe hand and glove. Feminism / Cultural Marxism works on exploitation of human weaknesses and Ego, both female and male. Femaleness and female culture has become degenerate too.

The Ego has been elevated over SuperEgo. In Transactional Analysis Terms, the Parent and Child currently rule and suppress the Adult.

Obama is the Id Child with all his ‘attractive’ surface ‘Charisma’ and cuddly ‘exciting’ ‘change’ concepts; and Biden is the Parent Ego issuing commands, holding power and giving punishment. An abusive parent.

Unfortunately Palin is a Child too, a ‘natural’ and ‘fundemental’ Id running wild.

Childlike and childish and parental - McCain has ‘Good Parent’ too as well as having some ’sound’ Adult ‘Rules of Engagement’. But by himself he cannot cure the ills, especially allied with and reliant upon a child.

A fully matured Adult Human is a Wonderous creation.

      And so rare.

      And so needed right now.

None of the Candidates in this election can save America.

Neither Party has the balance and maturity to tackle the Main Problem of America.

      What is that Main Problem?

Not International Affairs; not Energy; not Global Warming (hah!); not the religious divide nor racism nor sexism nor Feminism nor Cultural Marxism nor the Muslim world nor the rise of China - although ALL of these are problem issues to be dealt with, even those that exist in imagination and hysteria - but what you are alluding to Poiuyt.

It isn’t just the male cultural degeneration but the degeneration of the American Character.

      Look inward America. Heal thyself.

Then you can gain the Adult ascendancy to lead the World.

I work with many people who have been abused as children. Joe Biden fits the profile of many of these people. They often hate their owe gender and falsely believe the other gender has superior qualities. I contend that Joe is one of these people. He was abused by his own sister and he could do nothing to defend himself.

Shatteredman, I hear what you are saying about VAWA and that Joe Biden was a big part of it.

Strangely, our rightwing brought both the DV Act and CS Act in. Rightwing in Sweden brought in 40/40/10 male/female/either into business boards and political positions. And England will have the rightwing bring in some things for feminists also.

I don’t know how to tell which adults have been abused as children but I will take your word for the possibility as you have more expertise on this than I.

      ……..

The world is meant to divide as a tactic to control. Feminism is one tool IMO. Stopping DV is very important in my eyes because I live in a neighbourhood where it is rampant. The poorer and uneducated the environment the worse it gets and as they move in people from less educated countries to well to do areas, the areas fall as the children become affected by their environment through their school and other activities.

The West is going down, the divide between rich and poor is widening. Chaos will bring forward laws that treat humans like animals.

And yet, here is something that has power we can all use if we get the chance to use it wisely.

I know that is the last thing anti feminists would want to hear but somewhere along the line we need to band together to fight the chaos that exists and getting worse by the day.

Some people are aware that chipping everyone is on the agenda in my city and some have rallied to try and bring the community together so to fight violence head on.

Feminists were abundant decades ago but most married and raised families which left the work to those with firm beliefs in women taking over and lesbians who have much to say against the system they think was created by men.

      ……..

What we need as has always been is decent people coming in to help the communities. Unfortunately ground work is low paid work and doesn’t attract the right people easily since they can make a far better lifestyle through business.

We need to have faith in people who want change. We need to rally them and fire them up.

Which side one chooses to do this IMO is pretty irrelevant. It is a must for ALL communities.

You don’t have to spend hours posting at MND to change the world. Everyone is tired of gender politics. Talk to the people you know personally. Spread the word.

Men are screwed in many many ways. But women will pay a much much bigger price going forward. Do you really believe gender politics will decrease with a Obama-Biden Presidency??!! And who will pay the biggest price over the long term?: men or women.

Today, millions of women work. Millions of these women are married with children.

And, on average, these women all earn within $5K of the overall annual family tax bill.

My point here is that in the past, women could stay home and raise their children. One income could get the family a middle-class quality of life.

Today, women do not raise their own children-they work instead. And that money largely goes to the government.

So now do you understand why the government so strongly supports the feminist cause?

The government does not give a damn about women and neither do the feminists. But the government and the feminists both gain by encouraging adversary between men and women. Get it?

And today, women are more tired and more unhappy then they ever have been.

Many more are single then ever before and will likely remain so.

And men are opting out of marriage and all the risks that it entails.

Do you think more female friendly programs and legislation from Obama-Biden will really help women? Will really make men want to marry and have families? Will really bridge the divide between men and women?

      The Decline of Men

      by Guy Garcia

      http://www.amazon.com/Decline-Men-American-Tuning-Flipping/dp/0061353140

Garcia (The New Mainstream) explores disturbing trends of men leading increasingly socially isolated lives and dropping out of high school and college in record numbers, naming them victims of an invisible epidemic.

According to the author, modern men have failed to forge a new and productive role in the 21st century. Garcia charts the rise of feminism and the changing societal roles of both men and women, illustrating how and why men have become so confused about what defines masculinity; having lost their traditional role as provider and protector, men flirt with hollow substitute identities—drawing on Jackass culture (men pretending to be boys), gangster culture (boys pretending to be men) and metrosexual obsessions with grooming and body image—that have reductively redefined manhood and led men away from compassion, responsibility and family. Garcia wisely avoids degrading feminism or pitting men against women; instead, he offers an astute and well-researched meditation on how men might reclaim their identity and place in modern America and why such a transformation is important to future generations of both men and women. • Why are so many of today’s supermen superclueless?
      • Why are so many ambitious young women unable
to find boyfriends as successful and independent
      as they are?
      • Why do so many men prefer the escapist digitized
world of SPIKE TV, Jackass, and Grand Theft Auto
to the reality of their own lives?

In an eye-opening exploration of contemporary American manhood, The Decline of Men shows how men are struggling to redefine what being a man means in today’s world. Their confusion has led to rampant male malaise, which has left many men feeling alienated and disconnected. Unable to communicate their frustrated thoughts or emotions effectively, too many guys are slacking off and opting out of their manly obligations, producing an entire generation of men who are ditching their own potential and failing the moms, wives, and girlfriends who love them.

The Decline of Men is a wake-up call to this distressing state of affairs. As award-winning journalist Guy Garcia reports, rather than working hard to achieve top grades or a promotion at work, too many American males squander their energy tracking their fantasy football league scores or mastering the latest video game. Men drop out of school at a far higher rate than women and are far likelier to die early because of poor health habits. Even the male Y chromosome is said to be at risk of disappearing altogether one day.

Packed with startling statistics, informed by pop culture, and narrated in the entertaining style for which Guy Garcia is known, The Decline of Men sheds light on a problem that has wreaked havoc on the American family and urges men and women to look past the gender wars to address this national emergency together.

The book is not yet out so I have not read this. It may be yet another male-bashing book afraid to address the true causes of the decline of men.

I blame baby boomer men and women who control the MSM and who refuse-to this day-to allow any honest discussion about the gross unfair treatment of men and boys going back 40+ years.

If you think a country that mistreats half of it’s population will be good for women then you are in for some big surprises and disappointments in your life.

I know what the last 40 years has done to men and boys and going forward-without a dramatic reversal in how this country treats it’s men and boys-the women of America, and America itself will find itself far worse off.

I cannot forgive America for what it has done but hopefully the younger guys will experience a positive change someday, and in time, will be able to forgive America instead.

Simple answer to a simplistic question: yes. Of course American women are not a monolithic block, voting in lock step anymore. Sometimes it has been written “good men and women of faith” with others ignored. Americans in 2008 should by now have heard of feminists, feminism, femini-nazis, radical feminists’ and the maternal revenue service; still American Women are not a monolithic group nor are American men.
Pro abortion, incessant demand for child support, VAWA and equal pay for equal work tend to be associated with feminists. End of misandry or Father bashing, Boyz Crisis, Child Custody and parenting time tend to be associated with men. As there are various types of women, so to, there are different types of men: masculinists, anti-misandrists, Fathers Rights advocates, shared parenting advocates.
2008 has an American Presidential election, various elections for United States Senators and Representatives, representatives and senators for various state assemblies, judges and other local positions. In the several hundred elections being conducted, principally, November 4, 2008, no candidate has explicitly stated I am pro feminist or pro masculinist.
      2008 US Presidential Race:
Obama articulates his position, first by saying “I was shaped more by my Father’s absence, than by his presence”. Obama authored the Responsible Fatherhood Act (mentions child support sixty-five times), explicitly endorses “women’s choice”, supports VAWA, and, speaks of families most often as “a single mother and her children”. Obama’s Vice Presidential mate, Joe Biden is the author of VAWA.
McCain asserts that abortion and Father’s Rights are best left to the States. The Republican Party appears to be pro-life, against VAWA and in the summer of 2008 congressional republicans passed the Child Support Collection assessment fee to custodial parents. Republicans speak often about Social Security Reform, far too often men fail to realize that Social Security Act Title IV-D et al take substantial monies from the Social Security Fund (no longer a Trust since LBJ in 1964) to pay for TANF, Child Support Collection Systems and incentives, as well as other non-retirement expenditures. The republicans did have Boy Scouts at the RNC National Convention and at the announcement of Sarah Palin as the Republican Vice-Presidential candidate. The Department of Justice no longer accepts Duluth as a therapy for domestic violence, and Minnesota Program Development, copy right owner of the various published power and control wheels, dropped its published call “for and end to patriarchy and establishment of an equalitarian society”.
      2008 elections in Michigan
In Michigan, long time Father’s Right supporter, Michigan Representative Jack Hoogendyk is challenging U.S. Senator Carl Levin a long time defender of VAWA for one of Michigan’s US Senate seats. The entire Michigan House of Representatives is up for election, incumbents Kevin Green, Dave Agema, Fulton Sheen, Rick Jones, Tome Pearce, Arlan Meekhof and others have all sponsored or co-sponsored Father Friendly legislation. Justin Amash running for his first term in the Michigan House of Representatives explicitly states his endorsement of Father’s Rights as do two Circuit Court Judge Candidates seeking office for the first time, Kevin Cronin and Brian Downs.
      2008 elections across America
Men seem to be notorious for not working or voting together on Public Policy, in Michigan, you may need to ask one hundred guys before one could tell you of a pro male or pro Father candidate.
Is your candidate opposed to abortion, VAWA, spending social security dollars on non-retirement expenditures? Is your candidate in support of FairTax, shared parenting, Father Custody, advocating for and end to judicial creation of laws? You may have a pro male or pro Father candidate entered in elections you will be a part of.
      Why a referendum at al?
At this moment buses in Dallas Texas are driving around with Father bashing domestic violence posters for all to see( DART): misandry in America, indeed across the globe, hurts all males individually and as a group. Prosecuting attorneys in California are arresting family members of Dads who have a child support arrearage, for assisting criminals.
As American men, we may disagree on pennant races, or the economy, even which soda pop we prefer; the examples are countless, mi hermanos, brothers, bruders: only by standing in solidarity will we end misandry in public policy and social perception.
