I googled VAWA and found lots of men's sites and feminist sites about VAWA and the money and this dates back years.

Maybe it is time to divide and conquer females.

Either that or feminists start realising that DV is not a one way street. Somehow I don't see the second part happening in a hurry because 2 victims and 2 perpetrators can cancel each other out.

But then what about lesbians and gays?

It must be very frustrating for you to work in the field you do. It doesn't seem that feminists really want to solve the problem does it?

But I can see that the most people who use this site are well informed about the issues and have probably been involved for many years.

I should look to what NZ spends.

Julie, I do agree with your points in this reply but it may even be worse then you are pointing out. Much of that$240 million may even be earmarked for crimes against women.

For example, notice this in the article.

" Celebrate Safe Communities is a new initiative taking place throughout the country and will help local communities organize safety-focused events. October is Crime Prevention Month "

I wonder if this is not really referring to Domestic Violence Awareness Month in which the main stream media and other sources will only refer to violence against women?

Excellent article.

But.... Am I reading this right?

$240 million for crime prevention for the whole of America while the feminists get $430 for women initiative programs and to fight against men?

In other words, women will get pretty painted nails in communities while drugs and gangs run rampant and the men/women/children caught up in this pay with their life 1000 times more in numbers than domestic abuse on women.

Doesn't anyone think the money should be the other way around? After all how many DV incidents occur over drugs and gangs.
