Worth noting, after running a social liberal like McCain, the Republican Party establishment is still claiming that the loss is the fault of social conservatism. What a crock. The war is unpopular, trickle down economics is unpopular, lack of attention to infrastructure is unpopular, disregard for the environment is unpopular, and energy prices are too high. Those are the real reasons the GOP went down.

“The appearance is misleading, however, as the core of America remains open to reason”.

I hope that if nothing else you’re right about this one sentence, if not, there really isn’t much hope for America or the Constitution.

In my opinion, the bulk of the American People are not open to reason and have completely lost their way. Most people don’t care about the Constitution any longer. That’s made painfully clear by the actions of people over the last hundred years and especially the last eight.

George Bush is reported as saying that the Constitution is, “just a goddamned piece of paper”. Even if that isn’t true, his actions speak loader than words, and he’s far from being the only one in government who’ve taken turns defecating on the Constitution.

I hope you’re right, but my gut instinct tells me you’re dead wrong. In order for this country to turn itself around, people have to do some very serious, nonpartisan, soul searching and truth seeking.
