VAWA Subsidizes Green Card Scams

The Violence Against Women Act underwrites Green Card lottery schemes, lures foreign women into prostitution, and tars innocent American men as abusers – all at taxpayer expense. Here’s how it works.

Green Card Girls – women who inveigle unsuspecting single men to bring them to the United States — are a well-known fixture in the international dating scene. An internet search on the term turns up chat room discussions, how-to books, X-rated videos, and more.

Green Card Girls may frequent entertainment clubs, operate out of translation agencies, or simply run an advertisement. In December 2007, immigration officials arrested Russian-born Yuliya Kalinina who placed an online solicitation stating, “Green Card Marriage — Will pay $300/month.”

The price of admission of enrolling in the Green Card lottery is a willingness to engage in a series of amorous flings. Gill, a teenage girl from China, explains it this way: “I know a few girls will kill to date a rich man, and of course they shall be more than willing to offer themselves in a sexual way.”

Prostitution comes next. A few years ago Shonda Werry interviewed female students at elite Russian universities and found many regarded prostitution as “their ticket to a better life,” according to a Times Higher Education article. And last July Hungarian-born Agnes Jeges, 35, was arrested in Van Nuys, California for her role in a prostitution-for-Green-Card deal.

Once she latches on to her Prince Charming, the Green Card Girl can look forward to life in the Land of Milk and Honey. Even if the relationship goes sour, no problem, she can dump the guy and accuse him of domestic violence.

Then she dashes to the local abuse shelter. Thanks to the Violence Against Women Act, she now qualifies for emergency housing and can bypass the usual two-year waiting period to land her coveted Green Card. And she’s entitled to free legal help.

All this is common knowledge. Do a Google search on “green card” and VAWA and you’ll turn up nearly 10,000 hits.

Immigration authorities are aware of the scam. One official explains the shake-down this way: “Beautiful young women…entice a poor, unsuspecting 40-50-year old into marrying them, and then methodically proceed to ruin his life: calling 911 to report a wife-beating…going to a domestic abuse shelter.”

One such man is Michael Wnuk, an engineering professor at the University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. Diagnosed with cancer, he met one vivacious Lidiia Kolisnichenko of Poland who promised she could help – but first he would have to marry her.

Days after the wedding, her mood darkened. Her husband had never hit or harmed her, but that was beside the point.

Lidiia then staged a confrontation scene, ripping a phone from his hand, hysterically running from the house, and frantically imploring the neighbors for help. Now she had “witnesses” to her charge. Then she took a B-line to the local shelter, which welcomed her with open arms.

Over the ensuring months Wnuk spent thousands to clear his good name. “I am financially ruined and emotionally devastated,” the engineering professor laments.

Lidiia Kolisnichenko is just one of thousands of Green Card Girls who each year flee to abuse shelters to become “certified” victims of violence. According to a recent survey by Eleanor Lyon and Shannon Lane at the University of Connecticut, 15% of residents at abuse shelters are there to get help for their immigration problems.

That means a lawyer who is willing to tell the woman that merely raising your voice is the same as full-fledged physical violence. According to the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago, “possessiveness” or needing to “walk on eggshells” are all signs of extreme cruelty. The attorney then coaches her how to complete the application for a restraining order.

I’m sure a few of these cases are legitimate and the ladies need our help. But many of these shelters are flim-flam operations. When the director at the Community Fellowship for Battered Women in northern California admits that persons are admitted simply because “they tell a good story,” you know something fishy is going on.

So how do our billion-dollar-a-year federal domestic violence programs come into the picture?

First, they funnel money to immigrant aide organizations like ASISTA that openly advertise a Green Card can be had merely for the asking.

Second, they order the Citizenship and Immigration Service to give special deference to any woman who claims abuse – no proof needed. These petitions are rubber-stamped at an office in Vermont where the CIS adjudicator has little chance of verifying the petitioner’s story.

Third, they channel millions to abuse shelters around the country who help perjurers file false accusations of abuse so they can ruin men’s lives and qualify for government aid.

This is done in the name of protecting women and eradicating domestic violence.

Not surprising at all. Although there are women who are abused, just as there are MEN who are abused, these types of scams have been going on for decades.

There’s no time limit on this scan either. I brought a Thai wife to America sixteen years ago. When I got in trouble for whistle blowing against my employer, they cut my pay and she panicked because my six figure salary was in danger so she ran to the cops and claimed domestic abuse. I got wind of it and bugged out just in time. Now she’s divorcing me and says she still loves me. If you are stupid enough to marry a green card woman, let alone ANY woman in America these days, get a pre nuptial agreement or forever hold your peace.

If a man doesn’t have a girlfriend, or wife, people think there’s something wrong with him, even to the point where it may warrant investigation. A man by himself is seen as a lone wolf and a danger to society.

A single female is seen as a harmless victim spending nights alone with her cat because there are no decent men in the world.

Any man in his right mind doesn’t want to get between the single female and her cat because there’s a better than 50/50 chance that he will end up on the receiving end of abuse accusations and/or wind up a financial slave for the rest of his life.

The logical alternative, (or so it would seem) would be to find a wife from a country that hasn’t been corrupted by irrational feminism. (As in any type of “feminism”) For a lucky few this scheme may work, but for the majority it has devastating consequences.

Neither RINOS nor DINOS are going to address this issue. The divorce, single mother, domestic abuse, abused and neglected children, prison industries, law enforcement, family courts, an army of lawyers etc. etc. etc. all depend on this for their livelihood. It has become a huge part of the economy and is the only group of industries not presently in need of a bailout.

There is a very simple and completely legal solution to this problem. Watch the excellent documentary “Freedom to Fascism” to get an idea of what needs to happen. Business as usual is going to lead to more of the same. You can *legally* stop paying your taxes and make a contribution to change, or you can do nothing and watch things get worse.

    Everyone has a choice.

I am a victim of Immigration Fraud

My name is Michael H. Mason, and I am a victim of immigration fraud. My Filipina wife abandoned our marriage April 7th 2008. I did not hear from her for five months.
She worked illegally in Washington DC as a live-in housekeeper until June 2008 when she went to New Orleans to work for her cousin.

On May 6th she had a hearing with the Immigration Court in Arlington, VA. I went to the hearing, but she did not bother, and she was ordered removed from the country in absentia (deported). I went to my doctor in August 2008 and was informed me that my advanced prostate cancer was beginning to resist the treatments, and had quintupled in just six months (A double in six moths is serious). I was alone with no family in Virginia, so I contacted my wife to ask her to come back and help me. She agreed immediately.

Subsequently she began telling me what a bad person I was, she even called me daily to tell me and ask about her green card processing.. I became afraid that she would come back, accuse me of domestic violence and get her residency under the Violence against Women Act (VAWA). I knew about it because I stumbled upon the information in Dec. 2007, when her residency was denied by UCSIS. I suggested to her that I could get by without her help, and she should stay where she was. I then notified immigration in New Orleans where she was and informed them of her exact location and phone number. For two weeks no one picked her up. She told me that she would come on August 31st 2008, so she could avoid immigration, as it was a Sunday. On the 23rd of August 2008 I called the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office and asked what I should do, because she was definitely on her way to Virginia and home. The deputy told me to call them and they would pick her up and hold her for immigration. She arrived, and I waited until I could call them when she was not home (They always call back and I didn’t want her intercepting the call.). In the meantime she threatened me daily, telling me that she did not need me to get what she wanted. Finally, I got a chance after four weeks. I was told that they would not pick her up. I called Immigration in Virginia and got the same answer. She came home later, and told me that we didn’t need to be together because I did not like her friends. She left that night with her friends, Sept. 26 2008.

Five days later Oct 1st, the Sheriff’s Deputy shows up at my house and tells me that she went to the emergency room on Sept. 30 2008 with bruises on her arm. I asked if they wanted me to come with them…thinking it was for questioning. When they handcuffed me I began to realize this was an arrest, but didn’t ask them. I was never advised of my rights, and the first confirmation that I was under arrest was when I was placed in a holding cell, while they got the magistrate on closed circuit TV. I was then charged, but not advised of my rights. I was finger printed, and given a copy of her protective order, and released.

On Oct 14th at about 10:30 P.M two couriers from the Sheriff’s office show up to remind me of the hearing and give me an other protective order and a sheet with charges as well as a statement that I had a history of physical and verbal abuse a lie plainly and simply. Oct. 15th 2008 I went to the hearing with a lawyer, pled “not guilty”, and the trial was set for Dec. 17, 2008.

In the meantime I get a letter 0n Oct 17th 2008 from Immigration dated Oct 9th 2008 thanking me for my “recent correspondence”, that the information was noted, and that the application should be filed, and an interview set up. I called immigration, gave them her “Alien Registration Number” and was asked if it were about the application for SSI. A few weeks later I get an invitation to join my wife on her “dating site JHOOS”.

At the trial the judge was advised of the VAWA provisions and she admitted knowing about it. The Deputy produced photos showing NO BRUISES, and claimed that it took him eight days to get a camera. He then testified that I told him about a scuffle in our kitchen which I never said, since it did not happen. Still I had not been advised of my rights. The judge said he believed her, despite the fact that she had a powerful motivation to lie…a GREEN CARD! So I was convicted. Her deportation order went away, her green card is assured, and I now have a criminal record. My lawyer said that an appeal would be a waste of time.

    Sincerely,

    Michael H. Mason
