Global Warming: Survival of a Junk Scientist (James Hansen)

2009-12-04
By

While the continent of the myth of catastrophic man-made global warming is flooded by the melt-down of faked scientific evidence and a conspiracy for political control the scientific process, one man-made alarmist island is fighting for survival.

The UK Guardian, this week, laid out James Hansen’s unsurprisingly extremist view on the Copenhagen Climate Summit. In the article, Hansen is described as “the world’s pre-eminent climate scientist.” His role in national discussion: “[He] has done more than any other scientist to educate politicians about the causes of global warming and to prod them into action to avoid its most catastrophic consequences.”

Even Al Gore, “who won a Nobel peace prize for his efforts to get the world to act on climate change,” couldn’t be mentioned without promotion.

Hansen has been politically involved in the global warming scam for many years, often described as its “grandfather,” and has served as Al Gore’s top adviser, helping to put Gore’s famous propaganda piece together. Gore’s presentation is known to be filled with misinformation intended to scare everyone from naive environmentalists to school children into supporting trillions of dollars in corrupt political action.

Hansen has not always remained behind the scenes as a political advisor. When he, as appointed Director of the Goddard Institute for Space Studies at NASA, was questioned by scientific advisors of the incoming Bush administration, the left launched an immediate propaganda campaign alleging Bush was trying to suppress him. The rather dull humor behind the claim was emphasized by Hansen’s continued speaking tours to condemn anyone who disagreed, including a call to arrest and jail them – a rather odd thing for a government employee to do – in the interest of suppressing science and dissent – to say the least. His continued very public and obviously unbridled participation in national and international debate – repeating claims that he’d made repeatedly many times over the years – and that there was nothing at that point the least bit surprising about what said – didn’t stop the left’s Washington based law team from characterizing him as a “whistle blower” and threatening legal action.

Hansen’s participation at NASA is tied to manipulation of data that resulted in false and misleading conclusions, and will likely get more attention as new revelations about data-hiding at NASA are expanded.

At the end, one can notice that the article promotes Hansen’s new book, Storms of My Grandchildren: The Truth About the Coming Climate Catastrophe and Our Last Chance to Save Humanity. I guess, with so much effort, and so many public dollars in the making, one would hate to let this bit of personal wealth-gathering go to waste. How many CO2 destroying trees are going to be cut down for this little bit of strategic propaganda?

    juandos;

Big Lie political movements always gather followers. Many people don’t understand yet, just don’t know how often and how much they’re being lied to. Back when I was in grade-school, a teacher gave us a statistic about how much of what is published in newspapers is true. Shockingly little. But not everyone gets a good practical education.

It’s certainly naive for people to act as though politicians don’t lie. But a particular set of propaganda techniques survives in continuous use because they work. False claims of a “scientific consensus” for example are an “appeal to authority” – intended to leave non-scientist victims helpless to respond. To pull off such a big con as the global warming scam, the criminals understood they would need to do big things to create and maintain the illusion. Certainly, having the press in on the scam has been essential, along with getting their people into admin. positions in places like NASA (James Hansen) to support their position.

They also anticipate people – good scientists and others – will contradict them. Labeling and ad hom attacks are part of the game. Controlling the language – “deniers verses scientists” – is part of the game. It’s still quite evident. Haven’t you seen articles lately proclaiming that “deniers have latched onto the emails as evidence of wrong-doing” – as if no set of facts speak for themselves. Oh – it’s those right-wing religious “denier” guys again – nothing to see here.

Although there are now few, I still run into people who believe in the “deadbeat dad” propaganda. But remember that game at its peak – in the 1990s. In that case, the truth about the politics and the effect of reforms was so unbelievable that it was difficult to explain so that people could understand it. In this case – the mere size of the con makes it unbelievable. People just can’t get their heads around such a Big Lie. Who would have the audacity to tell such a Big Lie and how can such a scam be maintained in such a big way for so long? (repetition = truth)

United Nations, Nobel Peace Prize, Oscar, International Treaties, House passes “environmental” legislation ….

Coming to grips with the level of corruption is an awesome task, easier for those of us who’ve been tracking it for some time. Follow the money. Always, follow the money ….

I’ve often wondered just how thoroughly stupid one has to be to actually consider the blathering of an Al Gore as the least bit credible?

I’ve often wondered just how naive people are who can’t see this fraud called ‘anthropomorphic global climate change‘ is a push by parasites for more government funding, hence having the government steal some of one’s private wealth?

Fools like Vincent Kosik do both at once and cost us all money via the government extortion system of taxation…

    sanjeev,

There are places you can go to start your research. I’ve linked to a number of things in the articles I’ve written on the topic. You can click on my articles related to the subject and find some interesting links. I must admit, that there came a point when I understood that my commentary no longer needed to refer to the scientific argument. It’s not about science. Here’s a couple:
    http://mensnewsdaily.com/2008/05/24/global-warming-debate-has-anyone-noticed-that-its-over/

    http://mensnewsdaily.com/2008/04/19/ipcc-challenged-to-recant-global-warming-position/

You can also check http://www.climatedepot.com/ for additional commentary.

I’ve also found some very good lectures on YouTube. Sorry, I haven’t kept a list. Be sure that at the very least, you find a list of things that are absolutely wrong with Al Gore’s film. Note that the evidence that they’re wrong is often based in IPCC findings, and even those are biased in Gore’s direction. You must at the very least understand that Gore simply lied about everything. His catastrophes are not based on any science. His cause and effect is wrong, etc.

  • sanjeev

    dear mr. gay
could you please provide me with some scientific articles which point out the ‘misinformation’ regarding global warming. i want to learn. sanjeev

  • Vincent Kosik

Dear SS (SharpShooter or whatever your it is you call yourself),

Never mind to read the article itself and account for its contents.
Let us resort to name calling and insults. Well, if that is the level that is present here among these web pages the more fool you.
    Good Day, Sir!

  • Sharpshooter

AAMOF, MediaMatters is funded by the same fraud that funds RealClimate. You know, the same bunch that was involved and mentioned in the ClimateGate emails.

Really, Vincent; you’re a dupe of the worst sort.

    BTW!

    Vincent,

MediaMatters is not a credible source.

  • Vincent Kosik

Mr. Gay, I wish Fox News would also follow your advice… please call them

  • Roger F. Gay

Yes, Vincent. If you were trying to use sarcasm, you should be aware that it doesn’t come across in writing in the same way that it appears in your imagination. Try just saying what you mean.

  • jjtaup

Vincent, I’m not sure who you’re saying is to blame and for what? You mean “big oil” is to blame for greenhouse gasses? Or the crusaders are to be blamed for fake analysis? There may be enough blame to go around, but I’m big enough to relinquish my share in order to make sure that others more worthy may receive it.

  • Squiggy

Vincent said: Obviously, this exchange is going nowhere and comments are being brushed aside.

I said: As for the world we’re leaving our children, leaving unborn people with enormous debt is unconscionable. My three-year-old owes a half a million dollars because of you knee-jerk lefties. Which he won’t be able to pay because you people are intentionally destroying the economy.

Obviously you are telling the truth. You completely “brushed aside” what I said. You leftists are so closed minded I can’t see how you can breathe the same air as us troglodytes.

  • Vincent Kosik

    Dear Squiggey and Gang,
I was being sarcastic with my comment and was to be taken seriously. If we were serious, we would be considering our impact on the “seventh” generation ahead, as some native american societies.
Obviously, this exchange is going nowhere and comments are being brushed aside. I made my point and appears folks are entrenched in their opinions.
One thing is certain, we cannot say we weren’t warned looking out the back rear mirror.

    PS
    Mr. Gay,
I did not call you “right-wing”, please take the time to read the sentence. As far as making money, the folks profitting from fossil fuel consumption are donating all to the poor and there is no self interest in their actions.
As far as propaganda is coincerned, your piece fits the bill.

  • Roger F. Gay

I’m pretty sure I’m looking at a fake argument as soon as someone calls me “the right-wing” and starts piling on the whole propaganda list against the “group” of anti-whatever. That in the employment of Big Oil thing is really really old and quickly found to be a false accusation. On the other hand, people like the current head of the IPCC has Big Oil / Big Energy all over his resume – and pretty much everyone (the small minority) on the scare-monger side is making money from the scam.

Oh . but dear me . I guess we’re all supposed to pretend this fits a simple two-party partisan model and accept our designated character and role – whatever the propagandists tell us that is — or, NOT!

  • Squiggy

Do not be concerned about future generations, what did they ever do for us!

Sorry, Vincent, but I DO worry about my children, and the world we are leaving them.

I live in the Deep South, and it’s snowing right now. In early December. That ain’t normal (as in the “normal” temperature this time of year is in the fifties and sixties). It’s getting colder every year, and you people are telling us “Gaia” is going to fry us.

But guess what? It won’t stay cold. It’ll warm back up. And then it’ll get hotter, at least until it gets colder. It’s normal earth-weather (whatever “normal” means).

As for the world we’re leaving our children, leaving unborn people with enormous debt is unconscionable. My three-year-old owes a half a million dollars because of you knee-jerk lefties. Which he won’t be able to pay because you people are intentionally destroying the economy.

And you think you own the moral high ground. You don’t have a clue what the word “moral” means.

  • Vincent Kosik

JJ, I was taking liberties with a qoute from the various elected officials that stated this comment as far as another “crisis” is concerned (the so-called “financial”). I believe even our President elect said it!
By claiming such, no one is to blame; how convenient!
As a matter of fact, this intentional financial crisis, which a small segment made immense profits from (both on the way up and down), will prevent our societies from tackling the real dangers we face.
I do not know why the anti-crowd is so worried; even if it was 100% certain that climate change is occurring do to humans (we are perhaps 99% certain), little meaningful action will be taken until it is too late.
Do not be concerned about future generations, what did they ever do for us!
    Analyze that!

  • Squatch

    @Vincent

    Hahahahahaha! Laughable.

  • jjtaup

    @Vincent

You’ll need to cite some facts to substantiate your “blame” thesis. I would like to know who is being blamed for what, please.

  • Vincent Kosik

    Dear Professor,
No, not at all- first, I challenge your statement there is “systemic fraud” nor is it a “movement”, like a crusade for a belief.
Second, we are dealing with people and their shortcomings. Science, which seeks the truth, is above all that and am afraid that is being ignored.
I agree that it is wrong and “those guys”, as you put it, should not do it.
I just wanted to pointed out, “There is PLENTY of BLAME to go around!” on both sides of the issue.

  • http://rebeluniv.blogspot.com Professor Hale

    So Mr Kosik,
Your argument about systemic science fraud in the global warming movement is. “you guys lied too”?

Don’t you ever get tired of being lied to? Can’t you accept that each and every attempt to manipulate you through fraud is bad and should be ruthlessly crushed? Or is it OK as long as it is your guys doing fraud because it is for a such a good cause?

  • Vincent Kosik

Oh, Mr. Gay the so-called “right wing” never would do such a low down false act such as this! Yes, Mr. Gay, there is no corruption in the anti-climate change circles (Exxon-Mobile will swear under oath to that one!).
No worry, there is “CLEAN COAL” technology.
Yes, Mr Gay, the whole evidence is false and we are living in a flat world, really we are.
No, The Bush administration did not suppress/ sorry “edit” the reports.
Well, Mr Gay, hope you are correct. Oh, read a copy of Peter Wards’ book, UNDER A GREEN SKY, that may cause some doubts.
I know, you don’t need to its just JUNK.
