It is essential to be aware in this time-sensitive brief note that there are three groups whose health will be negatively impacted by ObamaCare. First, all boys and all men will lose. Harry Reid’s behind-closed-doors-deal-busting bill establishes yet five more Offices of Women’s Health throughout the federal government which are on top of at least five existing Offices of Women’s Health and further specifies that none can be combined. Of the most critical importance, however, is the reality that nowhere in Reid’s bill nor in any existing federal agency is there an Office of Men’s Health. By no measure does this represent gender equality in health care.
The second group which will be negatively impacted are all seniors and all soon-to-be seniors (baby boomers) who will carry the brunt of the costs of ObamaCare. Seniors and baby boomers will lose through the elimination of already existing health services caused by cuts to Medicare.
Finally, writing as an old white man, I imagine that my personal Health Rationing Board will consist of President Obama, Speaker Pelosi, and The Wise Latina (or their appointees). Thus, it seems fair to ask: Were I and a female of any stripe to come before this rationing panel with identical conditions — would we receive equal treatment?
