Napolitano – Incompetence In Ascendance

2009-12-28
By

When a CEO fumbles and stumbles repeatedly, then demonstrates incompetence, the company’s Board takes remedial action, and if it doesn’t, the shareholders get vocal with their votes. When the head of Homeland Security repeatedly demonstrates an inability to manage, as well as a peculiar ignorance of either mundane or critical facts, does she get sidelined? Not in this Administration.

Janet Napolitano said on CNN’s State of the Union, “One thing I’d like to point out is that the system worked.” After the Nation had a head-shake wondering what planet she was talking from, she then said on Monday, “No secretary of homeland security would sit here and say that a system worked prior to this incident which allowed this individual to get on this plane.”

This is the same Napolitano who in April of this year, shortly after taking office, demonstrated an uncommon knowledge of geography, international affairs and of recent history, with a claim that the Sept. 11 hijackers entered the United States through Canada. What a great opening statement for a New Administration to make toward its biggest trading partner, and supplier of the majority of its energy needs.

This former Arizona Governor is a self-proclaimed road safety expert because she thought that she could put a dent in the Arizona deficit by installing a photo speed enforcement program. The fact that the systems don’t even pay for themselves, much less bring in tax dollars, escaped her notice, and she went to Washington before the evidence of her mistake came to the fore.

Of all services a government provides its population, Security is first and foremost. The position of Secretary of Homeland Security is one that should be filled with an individual who is Ready, Willing and most importantly, Capable, of fulfilling the demands of this most critical post. This administration has deemed that security and terrorism are almost inconsequent concerns of American taxpayers, since it has attached such an inconsequential individual to manage the department. Fortunately, courageous passengers who demonstrated swift presence of mind and effective action trumped the serious breach in National security that resulted from the mismanagement.

One Canadian newspaper in April 2009 asked, in reference to Napolitano, “Can someone please tell us how she got her job?” The question today should be asked of the President, “How can someone this incompetent retain her job, and why has the task become so unimportant?”

Well, while we’re asking questions, there’s one more question that absolutely must be asked, “Can anyone from this Administration deliver common sense and coherent commentary without a teleprompter?”

    Carl McGinnis,
I’m sorry to hear of your friends problems.
    Welcome to the USSA.

Practically, the ICE is detaining your friend because he’s considered a “flight risk”. (Given we know where he would fly to, and have extradition treaties, I’m a little leery of the whole BS merry-go-round, but Whatever… It works sometimes. Usually badly, as here, but I’m sure they have a token Mexican illegal in custody somewhere…)

In reality, it is profiteering, and it violates 4th Amendment rights due a CITIZEN… but he is not a citizen, so anything goes, unless he is a terrorist, in which case, he must be accorded great respect, simply because he has the balls to cut yours off, ya know? That’s the issue with the current P*ssy of the United State (POTUS). That’s the reason we take issue with POTUS bowing to foreign rulers – the rulers are supposed to be equals, and Barry tries to scrape the ground and show his throat, like an Omega pack member.

Situations like that make me think there is a very dark time coming… Plato’s Republic detailed the flow, but we ourselves will determine the means of the revolution. So far we are voting ourselves into history, alongside Rome… And I fear it will take blood to correct the excesses of our less-astute bretheren.

    Fortunately, bullets are cheap. :-(

Janet seems to make a lot of mistakes. I wish she would fix this one.

I am a citizen of the United States and I have a friend that is from
Paris, France here on a student visa to finish his degree. Noureddine
Feddane has been here since 2005. His visa is valid until March of
2010, his passport is valid until 2014, and his I-20 is current. He is
not what people call an ‘illegal immigrant.’ In 2008, he fell in love
and married a U.S. citizen that just happens to be addicted to
prescription medications. Noureddine knew nothing about this. But he
was arrested due to her mistakes.
He was placed in detention and scheduled for deportation. My friend
has been in detention center in Pompano Beach Florida for 5 months
now. This couple has lost all there savings on lawyers, she lost her
job, and they are in the process of losing their home. All this was
caused because ICE has the wrong person in jail.

I have written many letters to Janet Napolitano, Senator Bill Nelson,
Representative Ginny Brown-Waite and even President Obama. But no one
will listen. What is illegal in this case is the way DHS is treating
this guy, who is 51 and has never had a traffic violation. While in
detention center, they have abused him, denied him food and proper
medical treatment. Noureddine is diabetic and they will not give him
the proper food or medical attention. The phone system is very poor
and hardly works. I suspect that they plan it that way so the
detainees cannot contact their lawyers and family. I fear he will be
next on the long list of persons that have died while in detention.

Until you go to one of these detention centers and see with your own
eyes, you will not believe what America is doing. I was shocked, on my
first visit and after almost 6 months of seeing what happens and how
they have to live, I am still in shock. It is all about the money
    . My friend has never
cost America anything until they locked him up. He is in a private
prison owned by a company called GEO
based near Miami, Florida. They are paid very well by our tax dollars,
but the treatment is unbelievable. I wonder how many politicians have
stock in this company. They are doing quite well even in a bad
    economy.

Six months ago I had no idea that we treated immigrants in this way,
especially when they are here legally and have done nothing wrong. I
knew nothing about ICE and how they operate illegally
    . I was under
the impression that DHS was here only to protect us from terrorists.
And I had no idea of the millions of our tax dollars were being wasted
to imprison people that could be out of detention and have their
family support them until a decision is made in immigration court. I
do not understand why we have to pay our hard earned tax dollars to
house and feed persons that are not dangerous.

When they have to lock up a man who has done nothing wrong, make him
spend thousands in fees, ICE is giving way too much importance to
themselves. How can we turn such educated people away simply to boost
the ego of ICE officers and add another number to the Janet Napolitano
deportation list, so that the Obama Administration can look like it is
doing its job of ‘cracking down on criminals?’

Something has to change soon. I feel it is my duty as an American to
let as many people as possible know the truth. I visit the detention
center every Saturday and spend the rest of the week writing letters.
This Christmas, let’s do something worthwhile. Let’s go back to
protecting the country rather than making up stories to justify the
expansion of a national security complex. Let’s end businesses
profiting from immigrant detention and restore our image as a nation
    of immigrants.

“Well, while we’re asking questions, there’s one more question that absolutely must be asked, “Can anyone from this Administration deliver common sense and coherent commentary without a teleprompter?””

    James,
Sorry to say, no, they can’t. This administration, more than ANY other so far, needs people who will carefully write speeches and choose weasel words so tehre’s always a way to spin it. When caught flat, they have an unfortunate tendency to tell the truth…

And they don’t want the little guy getting any ideas of what’s REALLY going on behind the Bread and Circuses.

But you gotta admit….she’s kind of cute….in a Janet Reno sort of way.
