MND Announces Male Studies Scholarship Fund

2010-02-13
By

On behalf of publisher Mike LaSalle and the MND Editorial Board, I am pleased to announce the formation of a scholarship fund for the upcoming symposium on Male Studies, at Wagner College, Staten Island, New York, sponsored by the On Step Institute.

The conference, which is being conducted to promote the formation of Male Studies courses and departments on the University level, will be held on April 7th of this year, and is available to be viewed via streaming media for a cost of $15.00.

One of our subscribers, who wishes to remain anonymous, has donated the funds to cover 10 other Men’s News Daily subscribers who wish to see the conference but may be experiencing financial difficulties, as so many people are in the current economy.

With that, let me first offer a very public thank you to a very private person. Your generosity will make this conference available to individuals who would not have otherwise been able to attend. And it will help the On Step Institute further this very important agenda.

It is our hope that it may inspire others to follow your example and offer additional donations to the scholarship fund.

I would also like to thank the many MRA’s and others that have been running the Male Studies banners on their websites and have been helping us promote this conference.

For anyone who would like free attendance to the online broadcast of the symposium, please send a request to paul@mensnewsdaily.com with your MND username in the subject line. There only qualification for acceptance is that you be registered with mensnewsdaily.com. All requests will be approved on a first come, first serve basis.

For anyone else who wishes to contribute additional monies to the scholarship fund, please send an email to the same address and you will be connected with the individuals who will handle your donation. It would be magnificent if no interested person had to miss this conference because of funding problems.

Paul Elam is the Editor-in-Chief of Men’s News Daily and the publisher of A Voice for Men.

When I read the headline, “MND Announces Male Studies Scholarship Fund”, I thought at first a scholarship was setup for people who enrolled in a Male Studies program at a University. I thought that was a very clever way to get Universities to create such programs. Especially if the scholarship defined what Male Studies programs are qualified for participates to receive the scholarship. Universities are always after $$ and such a scholarship could be used as a means to establish the programs we seek.
