Patriarchy for Dummies

2010-07-24
By

If you have followed the ongoing volumes of discussion in the gender war, you are familiar with a constantly regurgitated bit of feminist claptrap.

Feminism isn’t anti-male, it is anti-patriarchal and of course, it‘s about equality.

Sure it is.

We should consider, though, that in their constant attempt to reshape reality to fit the needs of the moment, there is a dirty little secret that feminists continually keep from themselves. Well, one among many. This one is called reproductive strategy. And without understanding that, you can’t understand why and how we developed a patriarchal system.

It is really simple. Men are wired to do whatever it takes to be selected by women for mating. Women are wired to select men that are dominant and aggressive, e.g. patriarchal.

Do I need to say that again?

Do you ever wonder why men like Scott Peterson show up at death row with a stack of marriage proposals waiting for them? That’s what happened, and the proposals came from women who only knew one thing about him: He savagely murdered his wife, cutting his own baby from her abdomen and dumped them both out of a boat into the bay.

How is that for marriage material?

It isn’t any different with Joran van der Sloot. After skating on the Holloway murder, van der Sloot became a sexual celebrity. Everywhere he went, young women in their sexual prime threw themselves at him like he was Mick Jagger.

Something about the missing body of a young girl and his fingerprints all over the case acted like Spanish Fly on these women.

Of course, he killed again. And of course, his marriage proposals started rolling in as well.

Here, by the way, is the video of Joran and his last victim, Stephany Flores, checking into the hotel room in Lima, Peru, where he would kill her. Watch it closely.

Did you get the way she followed him like an obedient dog? Note the two steps behind and head bowed like a Geisha body language. It is the age old false female submission to male authority, killer authority, in order to have access and eventual control of that power. It is the same type of power that has been making women wet and tingly since the prehistoric plains of the African savanna.

Are the women gone ga ga for Peterson and van der Sloot the exceptions to the rule?

No.

What they are is more extreme examples of the norm. Everyone eats, and in every culture there is a certain percentage of people that eat to the point of obesity. It doesn’t make eating abnormal, it just points to some abnormal eating. These women are the same type of phenomena.

They are attracted to killers for the same reasons that the average young woman is attracted to thugs, bad boys on motorcycles, rock stars and politicians as ugly as Henry Kissinger. It is all about power. Power to protect, power to provide, power to dominate and control.

Power to be corralled and used.

When all that power gets channeled into a box and served up on a platter for women’s benefit, you have the ultimate aphrodisiac. There’s your patriarchy in a nutshell, and all the laws, codes, social norms and gender roles that came with it.  Women use the illusion of submission and being demure, coupled with sexual appeal, to get men to perform for their benefit.

Ultimately the master is the slave.  He lives under the illusion of power, when in reality he is only the provider of it.

And this of course explains why feminism has not resulted in equality, but only more privilege for women. Feminism only takes what is already there, the female drive to benefit from the power acquired by men, power that almost all women are incapable of gaining on their own, and takes it to the extreme level. In that light, feminism is an extreme that showed up in normal sexual life, just like a letter bearing a marriage proposal on death row.

And as always of course, the chief enablers of all this are men jockeying for sexual approval/selection.

As I have said before, take it up with God or Darwin as you please, but don’t blame me for telling the truth.

But that truth, in these modern times, presents a unique dilemma for men, at least the ones that have pulled their heads out and started to read the writing on the wall.

The acquisition of all the power needed to attract women brought with it a rather unfortunate consequence.

Disposabilty.

Pulling 12 hours in a coal mine with trembling walls and death in the air you breathe is a high price to enable a woman to remain at home taking care of children, especially in an age where that kind of life is absolutely unnecessary.

If you are fortunate enough to be alpha material, you get to own or run the coal mine, have men do the digging for you and perhaps even have some of their wives yield to the tingle you give them while hubby is down in the depths doing what a man has to do.

But this is really where we run into a wall that is unscaleable in the movement toward this incredulous thing called “sexual equality.”

The minute that man takes a real look at what he is doing and decides less money is a better option, then that is where hypergamy kicks in to overdrive with the wife and he loses her.

The very moment he values his safety and quality of life more than he values her standard of living, the clock starts on her departure.

Without playing by the same rules that gave us patriarchy, there is no real connection between men and women. The men who undermine patriarchy in the only real way it can be undermined, by refusing to take care of women, are automatically reduced to the status of loser and placed on the sexual sidelines.

The only answer to this is to open the door for women on the way out, and perhaps give them a little shove as they go. It’s the feminist equalitarian thing to do, after all. These men should be lionized by Steinem, et al, because it frees women from all the “oppressive” patriarchy that comes with marriage (which they will then, invariably, look to get from some other man) and it allows the man, at least in the case of a coal miner, to add a decade or so to his life span and perhaps enjoy it a little more.

If feminism were about being either anti patriarchy or pro equality, the only focus it would have had would be on challenging women to quit picking the most powerful provider that they can and using them to live as close to the state of royalty as possible.

It would have also told women to put down books and pick up shovels.

Instead, what we have is women dominating the work force in the most cushy jobs available, many of them low paying, while men still bear the brunt of often fatal occupational hazards so they can make enough money to be an attractive provider. Whatever financial gaps result in this for women, they simply use The State, that ultimate expression of patriarchy, to fill in.

And do you think these under employed women are more prone to marrying down than any other woman?

Let‘s be real here, all feminism has done is give women a new place to kick back and take it easy while men ante up the blood, sweat and tears. And it leaves their supposedly lamented patriarchy safe and completely intact, ready to do their bidding in any way they want.

Same as it ever was.

Your two examples are poorly chosen. Scott Peterson had nothing to do with his wife’s abduction and murder (ironically this was done by a woman, not a man). The state’s own witnesses and evidence proved that.

Joran van der Sloot might have killed Flores but clearly the Lima cops aren’t certain of this. There’s something very fishy about the case and the videotape. He may, however, be convicted out of prejudice rather than by evidence.

There are plenty of repellent men who still get female attention. Richard Ramirez and Charles Manson would be better examples of this.

  • Bill

Thanks for your note. You’re a good writer.

One correction: Van Der Sloot apparently lost his babe magnetism after the Holloway case. Not long before the Lima homicide, he complained to another gambler that he was unable find hook-ups. He also seems to have concealed his identity to women he met in Peru, the Netherlands, and Thailand. As for Stephany, her autopsy found amphetamine, which might account partially for her robotic behavior and bad late night choices.

    Thanks for your kind words.

I think the link to this article from The Spearhead may be of interest to you. It seems in direct contradiction to the idea that van der Sloot’s sex life suffered as a result of the Holloway case.

Paul, you’re a real asset to growing men’s awareness of the bondage they labor under.

  • paul parmenter

There you see. It really didn’t take much to blow away 40 years of total crap from feminists and their lackeys, did it? Just step away from the lies and the smokescreens, shake off the conditioning, look at the facts instead of listening to the hype, and apply a sensible degree of good old fashioned male logic. Then you can see the truth in the clear light of day. Paul has just shown the way in a few short paragraphs, that are worth more to men than they will ever be able to find in the endless recycling of misandric garbage that is the hallmark of the MSM.

Removing the rose-tinted spectacles and stamping them into a billion fragments is a necessary pre-requisite for freeing up your life.

Men have been getting the short end of the stick for a long time now. women get to be stay home parents yet if a man wants to do the same thing he is considered lazy, a bum, and even has his manhood put in question. The really foul psrt is if you actually play devils advocate in terms of Joran Van Der sloot. I to this day have a problem with the Natalie Holloway case and how it was handled. Her mother refused to let the Aruba police interview Natalie’s friends. Most parents here in the states claim they know there kids friends but most of the time they don’t. Natalie was drunk lets get that part out first. Most men if they were to get that drunk and were to be robbed or beaten or worse they would be called a drunk that should have known better. Even more disturbing is the fact that multiple witnesses saw Natalie Holloway get into a car with strangers. This did not come from just any ole witness this came from again some of her friends. With friends like that who needs enemy’s huh? I think that Van Der Sloot has some issues but if you dont go on the Holloway case then Van Der Sloot is another schmuck who is in the wrong place at the wrong time. Do i think he killed this young woman in Peru more than likely he did but i cant say for sure. I have only seen what everybody else has seen and that’s what the media and the Peruvian police have released. whether it be Beth Holloway or the father of Stephany Flores this guy has to fight both because i would stand to reason Beth Holloway will be there at his trial and will testify even though he was never charged in Beth Holloway’s murder.

It’s funny how the brainwashed can’t see beyond the “blame the victim” cliche. This article doesn’t discuss blame at all and yet that’s what cbs news sees. It’s amazing but not unexpected.

  • mongo

Yep – world of difference between ‘blame the victim’ and ‘understanding the victim’s motives’ – the MSM consistently pushes its readers out of forbidden territory and back into the comfort of the approved, repetitive slogans of the herd. Saves the pain of thinking I guess – or worse: men beginning to understand women too well.

    @Paul

Then again looking to evolution for the answer perhaps those females {and only those females} attracted to dominate alpha males to the extreme of sending a known killer sitting on death row a marriage proposal. Are perhaps genetically defective in some way and their pathological attraction, to someone who just might end up taking their life, is natures way of eliminating this defective genetic aberration before it can be passed on to the next generation

    @ mongo

No male wants to have his nose rubbed in his enslavement to the females in his life which is why the average male prefers to live in denial and pretend not to understand those selfsame females. While seeking to earn the approval of and perhaps a mating session with his mistress by bullying those males who are secure enough in their own manhood to stand up on his weaker brothers behalf and declare that the empress is wearing no clothes.

It is these willingly enslaved men who are the real losers!

On the other hand the average female is so easily understood that I waste no pity on the average male who allows himself to be bamboozled by her clearly predictable feminine wiles.

  • http://menarehumanstoo.blogspot.com/ aHuman

    Unfortunately this is spot on!

Even most of the career women only follow that path in order to gain access to more alpha men (CEOs). But they’re competing with ever more other career women who had the same idea. They’ll drop their career in a heartbeat as soon as they’ve found their mate. But getting there isn’t easy for them either.

The only real winners, as usual, are the alpha males – I mean those at the very top of the sexual food chain. As ever they do it at the expense of the betas and gammas. If there ever is a sexual revolution for men, it will be more of a class war than a gender war. Women will remain quite safe either way.

Modern male feminists are nothing but a reincarnation of the old knight in shining armor. But instead of fighting for women’s honor, they fight for women’s “liberation”. Same game, only different labels.

  • Denis

Just posted the following comment at CBS42:

I concur with DirkJohanson. This piece is intellectually dishonest and the unknown author a coward. The MensNewsDaily piece by Paul Elam is about the motivations of women towards men in this feminized culture that has been saturated non-stop for over 40 years with radical feminism. Now that the men’s movement is growing on a daily basis the feminized mainstream media wishes to discredit it with this unfair slim-piece. Paul Elam has the balls to speak the truth. CBS42 clearly is not in the same league on this point.

I can’t help but thinking of Mrs. Governor, Silda Wall-Spitzer, loyal wife of disgraced ex governor Elliot Spitzer (D-NY). She stood by her (powerful) man when it was discovered that he had been enjoying the company of the best girls money can buy in the pleasure business. Much to the admiration of public and press, who wrote countless articles of praise on her, she stood right there in front of the cameras through Elliot’s admitted shame. Distress was written all over her face through this entire ordeal. What a women! So what if she enjoyed being Mrs. Governor till then, she is now disgraced and dethroned. She stuck by her man. Now, just to show us all a display of virtue almost certainly reaching Angelic proportions, Mrs. Ex-Governor wrote a book where in it she blames herself for her husband’s straying. She has been quoted as saying “The wife is supposed to take of the sex. “This is my failing; I was “inadequate”. Can’t get much bigger than that. The unwanted pity and admiration intensified, and there it remains. An inspiration to all women, and even men.

  • Phillip

I haven’t taken any interest in this case since I figured it would wind up being another tool in the march of feminism’s use of proving that men in general are evil and vicious while women are always pure and saintly…
Still, after watching the video, I have a question: why does the camera over the desk wobble? If it is a stationary, mounted camera it should be as steady as the hallway camera. Instead, it looks more like a hand-held camera.

  • knuckledragger

Brilliant! As more men begin to understand that it’s not “them” that the little vixen is attracted to, but the status and resources they command, men are staying more emotionally unavailable. Women could view this as making him a “loser” like Paul says, or could make a woman only chase harder in an attempt to get something she can’t have. Either way, the modern legislative endorsement on women’s claim of men’s resources still hinges largely on the Consent of the Victims. The illusion of “equality in the workplace” and “emotional connection” between a man and a woman with an eye on his assets still depends entirely on our reluctance to say “no”. “No”, you are not in fact able to work like I work. “No”, I will not sign a paper that puts my survival secondary to yours. “No”, I will not change my perception of obvious facts to match your outfit. “No”, I will not view myself, my abilities, or my beliefs as anything but what I alone assess them to be. “No”, little lady, I will not carry your load as well as mine and concede that you are my equal. You wanted equality? Take it, it’s yours.

  • Jim Hays

Headed in the right direction but, it when women can’t achieve “equality” they turn to socialist government to do so. They can’t achieve it so they want daddy government to give it to them for doing nothing.

Madison, Adams, Jefferson, Franklin and Washington spoke of their fear of “democracy as the “51%” would begin to take from the 49% and relied on the US Constitution (Balance of power and states rights) and the Bill of Rights (individual rights) to prevent it.

Did I mention that women are now the 51%.

As an aside, 80% of females reproduce and only 50% of men. Men need to stop providing a free ride for women or they will end up slaves to the socialist feminist (Femimarxist) state.

  • Mr. Knight

Women aren’t in any danger of being treated as ‘disposable’ because the system forces men to support women they aren’t with.

Like, for example, when the divorcing ex-wife gets the bank accounts full of money earned by her ex-husband and the house paid for with money earned by her ex-husband.

    That is a core problem:

Women are getting the man’s money without the man.

And correspondingly, that points up a key change that needs to happen:

Each marriage needs to be set up so that if the woman divorces the man, she divorces his money and everything bought with that money, like the house, as well.

In sum: get an ironclad premarital contract which ensures that if you get divorced, your ex-wife doesn’t leave with even a cent that you earned, or with any material item that you paid for.

  • m

This misogynistic, twisted argument makes me sick. It’s garbage like this that keeps everyone dissatisfied with gender relations. Now that women are the MAJORITY of the workforce and university students, men not longer fill any of these roles (besides cowardly murderer). Good luck to all you guys taking this idiotic advice. I’m sure you will all be able to find a “geisha” who will submit to your adolecent insecurities after she realizes that you have nothing to offer as a human being and realizes that she makes more money than you.

  • Mickey T.

    @ Jim Hays

    “….they turn to socialist government…”

    Or, they turn government socialist.

Gallup poll for 1st quarter of 2009 shows 41% of women to be Democrat, while 30% of men are.
In 1964 there were 1.7 million more female votes than male. Go to 2004 and we had 8.8 million more female votes than male.
Our government still continues on this socialistic course.

  • Mickey T.

    @ Jim Hays

I forgot, in 2004, 56.2% of women voted, while the number for men was 53.1%. That was the year they enjoyed 8.8 million more votes than us. Pretty straightforward.

  • Denis

Well “m” it looks like I can add you to a list I complied more than 5 years ago and posted here at MND:

Genius. Things are not simple here. It takes intelligence and honesty to see them. But like most people are trained in the mommy matrix – just go for power – thats what she wants. However… the truth is the greatest power and is only available to those who can abandon their lust for power and serve to honestly understand. Much more difficult – but is the truth and in the long run worth it.

Wow. Angry men blaming women for the psychotic behavior of some men. I don’t know a SINGLE woman who would be attracted to Peterson or Van der Sloot. You guys have really been roughed over by some nasty women, I see. It’s a shame you can’t figure out how to get with normal women, and stop blaming the entire gender for your lack of skills. Real men are NOT agressive conquerors, and real women do not seek that kind of man.

  • http://www.google.com/profiles/mike.lasalle Mike LaSalle

    Natalia said “real man”

If I hear the term “real man” one more time, I will certainly puke. “Real man” is an advertising hook used to shame and manipulate men into getting something out of them. It’s bunk. A lie. A pile of manure. All men are real. That includes Stephen Hawking and the mutant scumbag on death row.

The hackneyed “real man” motif is dehumanizing and ethically reprehensible. Get over it.

  • Mickey T.

    @ Mike LaSalle

About 15 years ago my wife (a very special person) was very sick with a permenent disability and needed almost constant care. I did my best, and I believe I never waivered from my duties to care for her as any person should do. I had to run a business and care for her with no help other than who I paid and only then when I had to work.

One day while talking to some of the local women, one said, referring to how I cared my wife, “you are a REAL man”. I responded “there are plenty of real men, there just that many real women”. A look of shock and confusion came over them.

    They just don’t get it.

Again, I did nothing special, and I deserve no credit for doing anything special. It’s what I would expect of any man.

    Good post.

  • Mickey T.

    @ Natalia

I noticed a sharp increase in the “no” votes, some at the most unlikely of places, at the same time you appeared here. I also noticed a “yes” vote in a very unlikely place. I tested, and sure enough, one CAN vote on their own post.
Doesn’t that sort of defeat the purpose?

In my last post, the second sentence in the second paragraph should read:
I responded “there are plenty of real men, but there just AREN’T that many real women”.

  • http://www.google.com/profiles/mike.lasalle Mike LaSalle

I think it’s important to take a semiotic approach to the use of the “real man/real woman” motif. This phrase is a stock and trade of advertising pitched at men, eg., “Real Men use x-shaving cream.” It is the universal go-to catchphrase in selling products to men.

“Real woman” is a less popular phrase, mostly because it is already assumed by the media and society that all women are already real. It is often used in conjunction or reaction to “real man”.

My point here is that language itself creates the rules for human discourse. Words that have application to sex/gender or racial/ethnic identity are powerful, and often used by individuals in one group to exert control over individuals from another group. (Just think of the racial epithet of your choice to see what I mean. Epithets are meant to demean, dehumanize and to control.)

Words that correspond to sex/gender identity can be used to taunt or torment just the same way as words that define race/ethnic identity. If it’s not acceptable on MND to use racial-identity slurs, you can be sure it is not acceptable to use sex-identity slurs. I believe that Stephen Hawking is a “real” man despite his physical condition. I also think the loser on death row is a “real” man.

I imagine that puts me off the reservation with a lot of people. Yeah, same as it ever was.

  • Mickey T.

    Right
I was simply pointing out to the girls, that I’ve about had it with women whining about basically the entire male population not treating women with the care they assuredly deserve and sinfully do without. That instead, they may try to consider the novel concept of evaluating their treatment of men.

This, of course was beyond their comprehension. But, they never made any similar remarks to me.

    Right
I probably could have said “stick your misandrist attitudes where the sun don’t shine” and got the same results. But then, you might do a dissertion on the proper/improper applications of rectal references when encountering misandrist situations.

    I’ll

  • jon

we need more feminists to comment. Don’t discourage them.

“It’s a shame you can’t figure out how to get with normal women, and stop blaming the entire gender for your lack of skills.”

That sentence demonstrates what it means to blame the victim. A guy got abused by a woman? It’s because HE lacks skills. Whatever that means. How about this:

“You got beat, it’s a shame you can’t figure out how to get with a normal guy and stop blaming the entire gender for your lack of skills.”

See how that works? It isn’t particularly tricky. It’s just mean.

  • Paul R

I had occasion to debate the issue of “role reversal” on another forum. The piece to which I was responding contended that the female majority in higher education would lead to women taking on the provider role and men staying home. I argued the evidence of the last 40 years does not indicate women are interested in a role reversal–they simply want it all. They want the house, the kids, his money, the government’s money, and everything else they can get. Divorce is emblematic of what women want. They are not the least bit interested in men or children getting a fair share–both should be content with whatever the woman lets them have.

The original piece concerned the “boy crisis”–the evidence that boys are struggling in school at all levels. A feminist responded that no real feminist would do anything to help boys–after all, boys become men and men have had it too good for too long.

Feminists don’t just dislike men–they also have it in for little boys. How can any movement that declares little boys its enemies justify its existence?

    m says
“Now that women are the MAJORITY of the workforce….”

Do you think that’s good. m?
Have you noticed the effects on the workforce standards since women have been playing a greater part?

I used to notice when someone did something wrong, now I notice when someone does something right.

Before I continue I’d like to state that I do realize that there are some other contributing factors to this decline in standards, but they are minor.

I recently had a conversation with an aquaintance who had a managerial position at United Parcel Service. He described, the effects of the influx of women coming to work for UPS. Factors such as unwillingness, unable and unrequired all played a part in women performing 70 to 80% of their male counterparts in most jobs. UPS execs knew this and did not want to hire women for the jobs in which they could not perform as well as men. But, womens groups > politicians > unions said YES they will get these jobs and with equal pay. UPS had to concede because the costs to fight it would have been prohibitive.

Consider, women make up 50% of the delivery jobs. That means, at 80% productivity of their male counterparts (while receiving the same pay), the entire delivery force will deliver 10% less parcels. A male driver would deliver 100 parcels a day while the female driver deliver 80 parcels. Since the women are only half of the drivers, this slows the delivery volume by 10%. That means recipients of business related parcels would be receiving 10% less parcels per any given period, which means they will likely to lack about 10% of revenues, or some such amount. They have to loose revenue if they lack the needed supplies/materials when required. The expenses these businesses incur come due regardless of what revenue they lack, so the money has to come from somewhere. Payroll, taxes etc. don’t wait. Do they lay off 10% of the employees? Do they impliment pay cuts? Do they increase their prices and/or compromise the quality of what ever brings them revenue? They can’t borrow as long as they lack the revenue to pay the loan.

What does this do to UPS and all other related revenue generating entities.

Although the exact details etc. are estimated here, it is a very realistic situation and is happening in many businesses now.

When efficiency and productivity are diminished, as described above, the standards are compromised and someone dearly pays somewhere. When it reaches a greater scale, it’s only a matter of time, on the present course, it will have a devastaing effect on the economy and culture.

But, it might be more important to liberate the girls.

    Open you eyes, man.

Did you really claim there are more real men than real women? How did you determine that? Do you really believe there aren’t millions of women who have cared for their ailing husbands and children? There are a few of them in my family. There are also a few men in my family who left their wives for younger women. But I said nothing about whether there were more real women than real men. I don’t think I am in a position to make that call. Do you really want to start keeping a tally of which gender commits more ethical crimes? I, by the way, do not judge a man by his bank account OR by his alpha maleness. Neither one of those things holds the slightest interest for me. I feel bad for the men here who have been rejected by godldiggers. Not all women are golddiggers. They need to keep looking. And stop being so bitter.

    Paul:

“Let‘s be real here, all feminism has done is give women a new place to kick back and take it easy while men ante up the blood, sweat and tears. And it leaves their supposedly lamented patriarchy safe and completely intact, ready to do their bidding in any way they want.”

Really? I wonder why I have worked my whole life — AND cleaned the house, taken care of the kids, etc. etc. etc. According to you, I should be able to quit my job and just kick back and take it easy. Will you explain who will pay our bills if I do that? And who will cook dinner?

  • Of course my first answer to that question, of why you work and do all the home care, is because you chose to.

But of course, since you don’t live in the world of the average man, you really don’t know what it is that you are asking.

In all the work you did for a paycheck, how much of it was with a shovel in your hand? How many cross beams have you welded in place thirty stories up? How many miles have you put in behind the wheel of a semi over iced covered roads?

How much of your work exposed you to the weather outside? To toxic chemicals? Or to bullets?

If you answered yes to ANY of these questions, it makes you, as a woman, the exception. But I think I know what the answer is.

When I use the word cushy, I mean it in the sense that you don’t, as many men do, cheat death and wreck their bodies to get through another days work so that you can go home with some money. Whatever you do, I doubt it is in a mine or on a crab boat or in a forest setting choke on fresh fallen trees.

    Cushy? You bet cushy.

93% of workplace fatalities are men. 98% of combat fatalities are men.

You don’t really see any of this, I suppose, because in the world you live, stress is measured by inconvenient time lines and too many pieces of paper to push or phone calls to answer before quitting time.

I don’t mean to say those things are without their problems. But when you compare the on-the-job problems of the average man with the average woman?

Well, things look pretty cushy from here.

As almost always with fem-types, you are missing my point. Considering that, I don’t see the need to counter your points.
Perhaps if you read my response to Mike’s dissertation on “real men/women”, we could try to communicate.

And stop voting “yes” to your own damned posts!!!!

    i have to disagree.

women are not wired to choose patriarchal men. patriarchal men are paternalistic and dorky.

imagine a woman who acts like a mom. matriarchal / patriarchal is lame all the way for romantic partners. no one should be looking for a dad or a mom.

unforch, guys don’t get much feedback on this from popular culture. be the standout male by standing out, by thinking for yourself, not by copping patriarchal behavior or excusing sexism in your midst.
