"I am proud to be able to stand here and do this," said Morissette to wild applause. The pre-planned event took place during the 2004 JUNO awards in Edmonton, Canada. Morissette's revelations were apparently meant as a tame spoof of Janet Jackson's famed Super Bowl "wardrobe malfunction" earlier this year. "They're in an era when they're scared, when there's lots of fear," Morissette said of the American media. Standing on stage in her full-length body suit, the singer lauded Canadians who "live in a land where we still think the human body is beautiful and we're not afraid of the female breast." Report filed by Mike LaSalle. Image courtesy of JUNO. |
