MND NEWSWIRE Swedish researchers at the Department of Clinical Genetics at the University Hospital in Lund have reported an important discovery on the relationship between genetics and cancer. The old division between blood cancer (leukemia) and solid tumors is not correct. Data on genetic material related to thousands of cancer variations shows that the same mechanism seems to be behind all forms of cancer. If the result is correct, medicine can be developed that is directed against every type of tumor. The study is published in the journal Nature Genetics. Report filed by Roger F. Gay. |
