MND NEWSWIRE RENAISSANCE HOTEL, CHICAGO - Grover Norquist, the President of Americans for Tax Reform, warned the nation about the negative effects of a Democrat presidential victory in November. Norquist spoke at a 2004 Chicago Conservative Convention at the Renaissance Hotel in Chicago. Norquist spoke for nearly a half hour concerning the divide between the Democrats and the Republicans. He urged a Republican win in November, citing catastrophic consequences if John Kerry were to become Commander-in-Chief of the nation. Norquist labeled the Democrats as "takers" populated by a core leadership of "coercive utopians." Conservatives, he said, simply wanted "just want to be left alone." Norquist was followed by speeches from Republican Senate candidate, Jack Ryan, the Congressional Republican candidate from Illinois's 7th District, Antonio Davis-Fairman, and former state senator, Patrick O'Malley. Conference hosts included the American Conservative Union, the Americans for Fair Taxation, The Lincoln Legal Foundation, the United Republican Fund of Illinois, the Illinois Center-Right Coalition, and the Howard Center.
