A video purported to show the beheading of an American civilian in Iraq has surfaced on an Al Qaeda website.

The video, titled "Abu Musab al-Zarqawi shown slaughtering an American", shows five men in ski masks and headscarves standing behind a bound man wearing an orange jumpsuit.

"My name is Nick Berg," the bound man said. "My father's name is Michael, my mother's name is Susan. I have a brother and sister, David and Sarah. I live in ... Philadelphia."

After the man finished his statement, the terrorists were seen executing him by driving a knife into his neck as he screamed in pain and anguish. The terrorists shouted "God is great" in Arabic, then displayed the man's severed head for the camera.

The terrorists attributed the deed to Al Qaeda's front man in Iraq, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, and said they committed the atrocity because the U.S. refused to release their fellow terrorists from Abu Ghraib prison.

"So we tell you that the dignity of the Muslim men and women in Abu Ghraib and others is not redeemed except by blood and souls. You will not receive anything from us but coffins after coffins ... slaughtered in this way," the terrorists said in their statement after the murder.
