Michael Savage Announces he is "Exploring" a Run for Governor
of California
MND NEWSWIRE
July 24, 2003
Popular radio talk show personality Michael Savage of the Savage
Nation says he is "exploring an exploration" of a run
for Governor of the State of California as an independent.
Savage's announcement comes a day after California's secretary of state
certified
that his office has well above the 900,000 signatures required to put
current Governor Gray Davis up for a state-wide recall election this
Fall.
In his announcment, made during his radio program on Thursday, Savage
said that he was considering a run because there was no "conservative
candidate on the Republican side who supports borders, language and
culture."
Savage said that if he chose to run, he would base his candidacy on
four pillars:
-Support for California Proposition 187;
-Aggressive enforcement of immigration laws;
-Mandatory hospitalization for the mentally ill;
-An "English-only" approach to education and government.
