The university is not in the business of producing competent adults.
They are in the business of indoctrinating students to have the
correct view. But they don't just need a mass herd of people who
think the same. They need to cultivate a few leaders too.
The following is how the university breeds radical campus leaders.
To reveal this in real terms, I'm going to relate a story told
to me by a girl I happened to meet while at PSU. She is a young,
black girl.
She came from a single mother household, and her first year at
Penn State University was overwhelming. She was lost, quite confused,
and admitted to depression.
If you were a genuine liberal and wanted to help say, this girl,
how would you do it? Perhaps take her under your wing, help her
sort through her issues, and guide her to being a capable, competent,
independent human being? Not the university.
The university looks at girls like my friend, and sees the next
leader of the Black Caucus. They don't want her to get over her
pain; they want to exploit it.
My friend, we'll call her Kristie, called me up one night and
wanted to go to dinner. She had just had a "discussion"
with her old women's studies professor and wanted to tell me about
it.
Apparently Kristie was in this professor's class in fall semester.
The professor approached her and said she would like to talk to
Kristie personally. Not only did the professor hound her in class,
all during the following semester she called Kristie at her dorm,
and asked her meet her.
Finally, at the end of the academic year, Kristie went in to see
her. The first thing the professor said to her was Kristie seemed
"upset." She asked Kristie if there was anything she wanted
to talk about. Kristie said no.
Then the professor started to preach politics to her. She started
telling her about libertarianism, and her belief that prostitution
and drugs should be legal. More fun, however, was when they moved
on to feminism and rape. The professor started preaching that blaming
the victim was wrong. Kristie said to her she agreed there were
unfortunate cases of rape, but she felt women could do things as
to prevent that situation. Oh no, bombs went off!
Then the professor instantly went for the kill. (How dare Kristie
say something conservative!) The professor said to her "So
if you can't get a job because you’re black, is this your
fault for being black?" Kristie told her she felt that there
was some racism, but, with work, she could overcome it. "You
can't, Kristie! The statistics prove it! Do you want to see the
stats on success of Hispanics and blacks?"
If you need some time to absorb this: the white, elitist liberal
professor was telling the young, struggling black girl that she
couldn't succeed in the world. And she had the statistics to prove
it!
This professor stepped over some serious boundaries in trying
to get her hands on Kristie. She was calling her at her dorm room.
She hounded her for an entire semester. All because she noticed
Kristie looked "upset" in class.
This is how the university does its recruiting. They know how
to spot troubled students, reel them in, convince them of their
oppression, and make good activists out of them. That is exactly
what the professor wanted to do.
This isn't just intuitively done; people at the university are
encouraged to do this. Christine Stolba in an article entitled "Moon
Groups, Vagina Monologues, and Drum Circles: The Sorry State of
Campus Women's Centers," describes: "At a meeting of four
University of California Women’s center directors, the following
advice was offered: 'Identify pockets of people who have been disenfranchised
and target them with special events, like a breakfast for women
of color.'" In other words, as Stolba says, "Troll for
victims."
I suppose every organization scouts out its talent appropriately.
The basketball program looks for basketball talent. The university
looks for victims.
The Daily Collegian used to do feature articles about leaders
of student organizations (although they never did seem to get around
to calling me). My theory of campus activists being created out
of lost, depressed students is almost always validated. Most of
the featured students came from some type of drug rehabilitation
or a broken home.
Kristie also decided to take advantage of the University's free
therapy available to students. Feeling depressed, she asked for
their services. Kristie frequently complains about her mother as
being too "controlling," as many 18 yr old girls do. When
she went down to see the therapist, there is little doubt in my
mind she talked the therapist's ear off about her mother.
The therapists "advice?" He told her all her issues
have to do with a "controlling mother!" Oh, how insightful!
What kind of advice is this? What will pointing fingers do? Just
about nothing, as far as helping Kristie get over her depression.
This is what it is good for: getting students to turn on their parents.
Turn away from any tradition or values from your family, and becoming
absorbed in the university’s "values" becomes much
easier.
George Orwell describes in Animal Farm how the head pig, Napoleon,
took puppies away from their mother. He then trained them to become
his thugs. Oh, how insightful this particular book of Orwell's was.
This is why the left is not interested in solving broken families.
Functional families produce healthy children. What good are well-adjusted,
capable students to them?
The left makes me angry. They aren't interested in the betterment
of minorities. Just like feminists aren't interested in the betterment
of women. They have a vested interest in keeping them down. And,
as soon as they use these young, lost people, they'll discard them
like trash. They are in the business of exploiting pain, not eliminating
it.
And minorities intuitively know it. Take away the left's successful
propaganda to convince minorities that Republicans are all racists,
and let minorities decide which values they like, and they always
gravitate towards more conservative views.
Minorities are leery of leftists. They consider them to be Utopian
and out of touch with reality. Perhaps because leftists are. The
reason why I can reach out to many blacks, both male and female,
is because I am honest.
The women’s studies professor had to hound Kristie for an
entire year to get her attention. Kristie actively came to me -
and wanted to see me immediately. It's my message she likes. I'm
the one who offers her hope, vision - and a means to attain it.
I’m the one who preaches independence, dedication, and infuse
confidence in her to be able to attain what she wants. Do you think
the left does this?
The Democratic Party does nothing for minorities. The Democratic
Party is no longer very democratic. It's no longer a party led by
the likes of FDR, who, even though a socialist, still fought for
the people; it’s now a party of ideologues who care more about
saving trees than human beings.
The best thing to help raise minorities up is conservative values.
In-tact families. Hard work. Self-reliance. Abstinence. I’ve
yet to meet a minority, except perhaps bell hooks, who wasn’t
receptive to these ideas. It's time to stop letting radical leftists
get their hands on the minorities, and thereby raise them to be
their thugs.
The union between minorities and conservatism is natural and can
happen. It will only take a few dedicated individuals who care enough
to see it happen.
