There are those who view the new 46 articles for the constitution of Europe, unveiled on October 28, as a progression toward a global autocratic rule.

Many consider the so-called "United States of Europe" the beginnings of an alliance over which a demon-possessed dictator will rule. In the Bible, he is known as "the beast" (Revelation 13). In Christian theology, this symbol usually is interpreted as the Antichrist.

The published "skeletal" blueprint, overseen by Valery Giscard d'Estaing, former French president who chairs the prospectus into the future of Europe, sets forth 10 new countries to join in 2004.

Further, the three suggested captions for this union are: European Community, United Europe and the United States of Europe. Mr. Giscard prefers United Europe.

The publication, recognizing there is some disagreement on the following, nevertheless recommends that all persons in Europe be considered citizens of the United Europe as well as individual citizens of their members countries.

The document does open the door for the establishment of a powerful first president of the union. This leader would report to national heads and some parliamentary formation.

There is provision for the union to have the right to sign treaties and be represented on global bodies.

Next year, Mr. Giscard's gathering of national and European leaders will present a draft constitution for involved governments to consider.

Those attuned to biblical prophecy are aware that there are scores of fellow believers who expect the Antichrist (Revelation 13:1-10) to rule over a revived Roman Empire, that is, over the present European geography. He will rule as political leader, alongside whom will be the demonic religious leader, the False Prophet (Revelation 13:11-18).

The immediate domain of both Antichrist and False Prophet will be Europe; however, their political charisma will be global.

The Antichrist will wield treaty-making powers. Prophetic Daniel 9:27 points to him making a treaty with Israel for a seven year period (in that verse each day representing a year, that is, seven days equaling seven years total).

This Antichrist global dictator will provide the mark of the beast identification, 666, for his disciples. Those without that identification will not be able to buy or sell.

The False Prophet will create an idol in honor of the Antichrist, forcing those in the vicinity of the structure to bow down to it. Those who refuse will be killed.

Both Antichrist and False Prophet will rule from the same central European metropolis.
