1) The modern American “peace movement” is responsible for the deaths of far more people than the U.S.-involved wars its members have protested over the past half century. Why then are so many Americans still convinced that going to war is the worst thing our country can do?

2) Over the course of its existence, our planet has been much colder and much warmer than it is today, having endured periodic ice ages and various cataclysmic natural events. That being the case, why would anyone choose to believe that human beings are responsible for the earth’s most recent, and relatively mild, climatic shift?

3) The Bush doctrine of preemptive warfare would - in all likelihood – have saved tens of millions of lives had it been implemented against Nazi Germany prior to Hitler’s invasion of Poland in 1939. So why do human rights activists today insist that stopping Islamofascists from acquiring nuclear weapons isn’t worth the cost in human life?

4) Monetary transactions between private citizens are what fuel our economy. The government taxes private citizens, thereby removing money from the economy. Since economic growth is dependent upon increased monetary transactions within the private sector, why do Democrat lawmakers routinely propose raising taxes, especially on those citizens who invest the most money in our economy?

5) The word viable – as it applies to human beings – means capable of life or normal growth and development. An unborn human being during every stage of gestation is clearly alive and capable of normal development, unless he or she is genetically predisposed to abnormal growth or is hindered in some way from developing naturally by an external force. That being the case, why do some people argue that unborn human beings are non-viable during the earliest stages of their development, and therefore, appropriate candidates for abortion?

6) The Geneva Conventions’ protocols relative to the treatment of prisoners of war, were created for the purpose of holding the signatories of the various treaties which make up those Conventions to a certain moral standard of behavior during times of war. Any entity, be it a nation, group, or individual, that does not adhere to the standards set forth therein, is not subject to the Conventions’ protections under international law. How then can one justify affording such protections to terrorists, who ignore all of the aforementioned behavioral standards?

Oh, and one last thing…

7) If George W. Bush is as stupid as so many liberals claim, how did he manage to steal an election, mastermind 9/11, cover up his administration’s involvement in that event after the fact, con practically every Congressional Democrat into going to war with Iraq just so he could further enrich his cronies in the oil industry, single-handedly destroy every American’s civil rights via the Patriot Act, and then steal a second election on top of all that? And if he’s really an evil genius, which he’d surely have to be to get away with even half of those things, why aren’t his primary political adversaries in prison on trumped-up criminal charges right now… or dead?

Apparently the entire Republican party has lost its collective mind, as is evidenced by the fact that the GOP’s presidential candidates agreed to let a partisan, liberal hatchet-man like Chris Matthews[1] run their first national debate[2] on Thursday evening. Along for the ride were John Harris[3] and Jim VandeHei[4] of The Politico.com, who’s questions actually made Matthews’ blatantly anti-rightwing interrogatives seem almost unbiased in comparison.

The ten politicians who showed up for the event were Mitt Romney[5], Sam Brownback[6], Jim Gilmore[7], Mike Huckabee[8], Duncan Hunter[9], Tommy Thompson[10], John McCain[11], Ron Pail[12], Rudy Giuliani[13] and Tom Tancredo[14], and before the night was over, none of them had managed to avoid being rhetorically shivved by at least one of the three questioners. Of course, the candidates had nobody but themselves to blame for the shameful, 90-minute display.

The only one of the bunch who exhibited any real guts at all was Congressman Paul, who is really more of a Libertarian than a Republican to begin with, and he came off sounding like some sort of conspiracy kook half the time. On balance, the entire group behaved like a pack of spineless bureaucrats with nothing new to say and an unsettling willingness to allow their entire party to be disparaged time and time again without retaliating in any meaningful way.

Although I doubt I would have consented to appear at an MSBNC-sponsored event such as this, if I were a presidential candidate who found himself confronted by a trio of smarmy political hacks like Harris, Matthews and VandeHei, I have a good idea of the sort of responses I’d give to their mostly loaded questions.

The following is a list of all but a handful of the questions posed to the various presidential candidates at the GOP debate. The ones I’ve left out were either candidate-specific, or simply too annoying for me to address. Most of them have not been transcribed verbatim in this article, however, I believe that I’ve paraphrased them in a reasonable manner, and following each one I have inserted my own answers for your consideration.

Q – An NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows that only 22 percent of respondents believe that this country is on the right track. How do we get back to Ronald Reagan’s “morning in America?”

A – Stop electing ignorant, hate-America Democrats and wussie RINOs to high government offices.

Q – What would you need to do to win the war in Iraq?

A – First I’d arrest every traitor I could find here at home, starting with mainstream media swine like yourself who only report the negative aspects of the war. Then I’d bomb Iran into submission so it’s leaders couldn’t continue to arm the terrorists in Iraq. After that, I’d untie the hands of our troops in the field so that they’d be free to execute on the spot every putrid Islamofascist they find.

Q – In that same NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, 55 percent of respondents believe victory is not possible in Iraq. Why shouldn’t they have a president who will listen to them?

A – Because they’re brainwashed dullards who seem to think that people like you don’t lie to them on a regular basis.

Q – A recent Zogby poll shows that in moderate Islamic countries, only 12 percent of the people support us, the rest hate us. Doesn’t that create a sea of recruitment opportunity for our enemy? Do we have to reduce that temperature of hatred before we win the war?

A – No, we need to INCREASE the temperature in the Middle East by dropping a few nuclear bombs on Syria and Iran.

Q – Would you have fired Don Rumsfeld before last November?

A – I can’t say for sure, but I certainly wouldn’t have fired him the day after the freakin’ election! Thanks again for that, Dubya.

Q – Do you think a general shake-up in the cabinet right now would be good for this administration?

A – No, and before you ask, it also wouldn’t be good for the administration to adopt the Soviet system of government either.

Q – Former Senator Fred Thompson said that Iran has already committed acts of war. Do you agree, and what’s your trip-wire for a U.S. strike in Iran?

A – Fred Thompson is absolutely right, and my “trip-wire” for attacking Iran is ANY act of war against our country.

Q – If Israel should decide to strike Iran’s nuclear sites, and asks for your help, what would you say?

A – How many bombs do you need, and how fast can you pay us back for them?

Q – When speaking about Osama Bin Laden, Governor Romney said that it’s not worth moving heaven and earth, spending billions of dollars just trying to catch one person. Senator McCain called that naive. Who’s right?

A – They’re both RINO doofuses in my opinion, but if I had to choose between them on this issue, I’d side with Johnny Mac.

Q – Would you be comfortable with Tom Tancredo as head of the Immigration and Naturalization Service?

A – Comfortable? Hell, I’d declare him the Border Baron for life and give him an extra ten dollars on top of his regular pay for every illegal he managed to ship the hell out of this country.

Q -Â Should we change our Constitution to allow foreign-born, naturalized citizens to run for president?

A – Yes, but only the ones who look, act, and talk exactly like me.

Q – What do you dislike most about America?

A – Leftist weasels like you.

Q – Thousands of reputable scientists have concluded with almost certainty that human activity is responsible for the warming of the earth. Do you believe global warming exists?

A – Yes, and I also believe that global cooling exists. The fact is that the earth has warmed and cooled countless times since it was first created, and any person who believes humans are responsible for that is a complete nimrod.

Q – Do you have a plan to solve the shortage of organs for transplant?

A – Yeah, kill everyone on death row within a year of their sentencing and harvest their organs.

Q – Do you consider yourself a compassionate conservative like President Bush?

A – In the first place, George W. Bush is not a conservative. Secondly, embracing conservatism is, by definition, the most compassionate ideological choice a person can make, so yes I’m a compassionate conservative.

Q – If you were president, would you work to phase out the IRS?

A – Phase out? No, I’d try to eliminate it completely on my first day in office.

Q – Would the day that Roe v. Wade is repealed be a good day for America?

A – Only if you believe that killing millions of innocent babies is a bad thing.

Q – Could you support a nominee of your party who is not pro-life?

A – No, I tend not to like people who support the murder of children.

Q – If a private employer finds homosexual behavior immoral, should he be allowed to fire a gay worker?

A – Of course, it’s his business and if you don’t like his opinions, shop somewhere else.

Q – What would you have to say to Roman Catholic bishops who deny communion to elected officials who support abortion rights?

A – Nothing, that’s exactly what Catholic bishops are supposed to do.

Q – Governor Schwarzenegger has won the state of California twice by downplaying partisanship and taking centrist positions on the environment, immigration, abortion… is that the way to win for Republicans?

A – Sure, if you happen to be running for governor of an extremely left-wing state. If you’re running for president, however, you might want to try being an honest conservative like Ronald Reagan, who was swept into the White House by the biggest electoral landslide in American history.

Q – Would you keep Karl Rove in the White House as an adviser?

A – No, but if Condi Rice wanted to hang out after hours and knock back a few shots of scotch with me, I wouldn’t complain.

Q – What’s with your party and all the corruption?

A – What’s with your mouth and all the stupid questions?

Q – What specific programs would you cut if you were president?

A – Every program that isn’t national security related.

Q – Using a letter grade of A through F, how would you rate the Bush administration’s handling of the Iraq War?

A – I’d give it a B for effort and a D for results.

Q – Is racism still a problem in our society, and can a president do anything about it?

A – No, there is no racism anywhere anymore… we’ve totally eradicated it from our midst… DUH! As for the president doing something about it, yes, he can treat everyone like individuals instead of racially pigeonholing people like you leftists do. That would set a fairly good example for the next generation of Americans to emulate.

Q – Did you watch Al Gore’s environmental documentary “An Inconvenient Truth?”

A – Yes, and I thought his hair looked marvelous.

Q – Perhaps the most important skill a good president must have is the ability to make sound decisions, often in a crisis situation. Can you cite an example of when you had to make a decision in crisis?

A – I once decided to grab a guy who lost his balance while we were free-climbing on some boulders, and prevented him from plummeting 100 feet to his death. Does that count?

Q – Women are the fastest growing prison population. Most are mothers who are non-violent, first-time offenders. What will you do to address the issue of mothers behind bars and the children left behind?

A – I’d encourage them to STOP BREAKING THE LAW!

Q – What taxes would you like to cut?

A – ALL of them.

Q – Can you name one thing that the federal government does really well, and one thing that it does poorly?

A – It trains and equips our military pretty well. Other than that, it sucks eggs.

Q – Do you believe in evolution?

A – If you’re talking about Darwin’s macro-evolution theory, no. I think it’s got more holes in it than a screen door.

Q – Do you trust the mainstream media?

A – About as much as I trust pit vipers.

Q – Do your personal religious beliefs influence your foreign policy thinking?

A – Yes, and if they didn’t there would be something seriously wrong with me.

Q – What do you consider to be your most significant weakness as a candidate for president?

A – That I was foolish enough to agree to be questioned by a neo-communist parasite like you on national television.

Q – Will you work to protect women’s rights, as in fair wages and reproductive choice?

A – From what I understand, women outnumber men in this country, so they’re more than capable of defending their own rights. As for reproductive choice, women are perfectly free to choose who they sleep with and who they don’t.

Q – How many American soldiers have lost their lives in the Iraq War, and how many have been injured to date?

A – If you don’t know the answer to that already, I suggest that you go back to watching Jerry Springer and leave running the country to serious adults.

Q – Are you for a tamper-proof national ID card?

A – Why don’t we try creating a tamper-proof Social Security ID system first?

Q – Do you think Scooter Libby should be pardoned?

A – Yes, and I also think that Patrick Fitzgerald should be disbarred for malicious prosecution.

Q – Would it be good for America to have Bill Clinton back living in the White House?

A – Would it be good if I walked over to you right now and jammed my pen in your eye?

It was only a matter of time before anti-gun nuts all over the country started calling for stiffer gun control measures in the wake of the recent Virginia Tech massacre. If there’s one thing leftists are, it’s predictable. If there’s another thing they are, it’s staggeringly foolish.

Yeah, we need more firearm restrictions because some nutbag went on a shooting spree on a college campus where nobody but criminals and psychopaths could have been expected to be packing iron. As it turns out, it wasn’t so much a “gun-free” zone as it was a self-defense-free zone.

I know I’ll be getting a slew of scornful emails over this article, but frankly, I don’t give a sweet damn. Disparage me all you want, but keep in mind that if someone who thinks as I do had been in charge of that university prior to the 16th of April, the chances are good that one of those victims, or at least one of the people nearby who managed to avoid being shot, would have had a gun of his own with which to fend off the attack of Cho Seung-Hui. Instead, every student and professor there had little alternative but to run away or cower in fear as the 23-year-old South Korean took his time executing everyone who crossed his path.

Don’t try to make people like John Kerry or Hillary Clinton appreciate the basic logic behind that statement, though. Common sense is as alien to liberal Democrats these days as the term ’safe sex’ is to Sub-Saharan Africans. As usual, whenever somebody murders a bunch of innocent people in cold blood, the first thing leftists try to do is disarm everyone who didn’t do it.

BRILLIANT!

Maybe next these mental giants will decide to ban writing utensils in elementary schools for the purpose of curbing incidents of poor grammar and misspelled words on homework papers.

Quick, somebody take Rosie O’Donnell’s fork away from her before she eats herself to death!

I swear, if I hear one more jabbering nitwit say that the horrific events of Monday last never would have happened if owning handguns were against the law, I’m gonna go on a rampage of my own, swatting every liberal I can find across the head with a rolled-up copy of ‘Guns & Ammo’!

If you really want to talk about effective gun control, I’m perfectly willing to discuss the issue. As a matter of fact, I’m all for it! I think every adult who isn’t a convicted felon should practice gun control on a regular basis. With a little practice, there aren’t too many folks out there who wouldn’t be capable of controlling a gun well enough to drop a scumbag like Cho Seung-Hui from 50 yards away with a single shot!

Ever since the new Defeatocrat party took control of our Congress less than two months ago, the snarling anklebiters who make up its support base have allowed their irrational hatred for the Bush administration to propel them to new heights of lunacy, and it doesn’t look as if they’re going to be piloting the starship moonbat toward planet reality anytime soon.

Of course, there has never been a time when the word rational could have been used to accurately describe this particular generation of leftists, however, with each passing day it’s becoming more and more difficult to refer to them as anything but a gaggle of frothing nutjobs.

If the truth be known, I’d rather be locked in a room with a few dozen hysterical 5-year-olds for a week than spend half an minute listening to the sort of mindless gibberish that routinely flows from the mouth of Cindy Sheehan. Unfortunately, the Jurassic media feels the need to report every idiotic phrase uttered by that brainsick rube, while virtually ignoring the opinions of the most honorable people in America; the men and women of our armed services.

By the way, if you’re waiting for the Republican leadership to step up to the plate and finally confront the various neo-communists in our government, the press, and Hollywood, you’d better pull up a chair and get comfortable, because that’s not going to happen in the foreseeable future.

It’s become painfully obvious to anyone willing to look that the folks who currently run the GOP are as useless at defending the conservative principles of their voter base as liberals are at defending the U.S. against Islamo-fascists.

Political correctness has wormed its way through the Republican party’s hierarchy to such an extent that the President himself refuses to call the people who creep across our borders in the dead of night illegal aliens. If he can’t even do that, what’s the likelihood he’ll be referring to John Kerry and Dick Durbin as seditious bastards before his second term comes to a close?

When George Dubya talked about a “new tone” in Washington back in ‘04, I never expected that what he really meant was he intended to let every screeching, hate-filled liberal in the country attack him and our troops relentlessly, while he sat around perfecting his Rodney King impersonation.

Can’t we all just *sniff* get along?

No, clearly we cannot all get along, you freakin’ bumpkin, now wake up and smell the treason!

I swear, I would give my right arm if I could turn on my television tomorrow and hear the President proclaim that he’s all done playing Mr. nice guy with America’s enemies at home, and that from here on out he will be as dedicated to eradicating the threat of domestic socialism in the future as he’s been to wiping out international terrorism in the past.

While I know it’s a long shot, I still can’t help but wonder what our country would be like if the Republican party elite started behaving like real Americans for a change.

And just in case you’re wondering what I mean by REAL Americans, I’ve prepared the following list of their shared traits which should give you a fairly good idea of the sort of folks I’m referring to.

A) Real Americans understand that socialism is a dangerously stupid concept which is diametrically opposed to the idea of individual rights and responsibilities.

B) Real Americans love their country more than they hate any particular politician.

C) Real Americans know the difference between legal immigrants and illegal aliens, and they strongly disapprove of the latter.

D) Real Americans realize that total equality among all people is a practical impossibility, but that at least equality under the law affords everyone the opportunity to achieve happiness and success.

E) Real Americans understand that the Constitution of the United States (1) is not a “living, breathing” document, but, rather, a legal contract between them and their government.

F) Real Americans practice what they preach.

G) Real Americans are willing to help any person who is down on his luck, just as long as that individual is trying to better himself, and doesn’t blame other people for his own failures.

H) Real Americans recognize the fact that blaming guns for violent crime is about as logical as blaming pencils for poor penmanship.

I) Real Americans understand that the main problems with public schools are a lack of discipline among the students, dwindling parental involvement, over-regulation by the government, incompetence and corruption within teachers unions, and rampant political correctness throughout the entire education system.

J) Real Americans would never think of suing a restaurant for making them fat.

K) Real Americans know that taking money from the rich and giving it to the poor only makes the rich poorer, the poor lazier, and the middle class nervous.

L) Real Americans recognize the fact that the Geneva Conventions (2) don’t apply to terrorists and other non-uniformed enemy combatants.

M) Real Americans believe that the only fair way to judge a person is by his deeds, not his skin color, which is why they consider affirmative action programs to be inherently racist and indecent.

N) Real Americans don’t give a crap if the rest of the world likes them or not.

O) Real Americans know that tax increases always damage the economy, because the economy is fueled by monetary transactions between citizens, and when those citizens have less money, the economy cannot grow.

P) Real Americans are too busy working for a living to organize mass protests against the people they find objectionable.

Q) Real Americans do not embrace moral relativism.

R) Real Americans believe that human-caused global warming (3) is a politically motivated sham being perpetrated by anti-capitalist forces throughout the world.

S) Real Americans have noticed that government bureaucracies are far less competent and productive than private businesses, primarily because the latter must compete with other private interests, and competition is the anvil upon which excellence is forged.

T) Real Americans understand that Islamo-fascism is the greatest threat to world peace and prosperity, and that George W. Bush, for all his flaws, isn’t.

U) Real Americans are never willing to surrender, because the cost of losing a war is always higher than the cost of winning one.

V) Real Americans know that their country would not exist if it weren’t for the efforts of its military men and women, and that citizens who degrade those individuals, or seek to undermine their efforts, are traitors.

W) Real Americans have common sense.

X) Real Americans don’t care what homosexuals do in the privacy of their own homes, but they do resent being told they’re bigots if they happen to be repulsed by public displays of homosexuality.

Y) Real Americans understand that their rights come from their Creator and not the government.

Z) Real Americans are patriotic individuals who love their country, not because it happens to be the land in which they live, but because the United States is the greatest nation in the history of the world, and, moreover, the last best hope of all mankind.

As most everyone knows by now, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton (HRC) has recently thrown her hat into the ring of contenders for the 2008 Democrat presidential nomination. [1] [2] Because I happen to think that Ms. Clinton is among the most disingenuous individuals in American politics, I have decided to relate what I believe she would have said in her public announcement to run for president if she were capable of being honest with the people of this country.

The following quotes are from Hillary’s brief “I’m In” statement of January 20th, 2007. After each one I have included my own version of her message, written in a way that I feel more accurately reflects her true attitudes and desires.

HRC – “I announced today that I am forming a presidential exploratory committee.”

I announced today that I am forming a presidential exploratory committee, and before I say anything else, let me just point out that it was never my intention to complete my second term as the junior Senator from New York. I’ll be damned if I’m going to continue taking a back seat to Chucky Schumer, [3] while losers like John Kerry [4] get all the attention. Screw my constituents, I want to be president!

HRC – “I’m not just starting a campaign, though, I’m beginning a conversation – with you, with America.

I’m not just starting a campaign though, I’m creating a fearsome political hit squad to eliminate all of my competitors, and while I’m at it, I’ll be having conversations with wealthy Hollywood film actors, labor union leaders, sycophantic journalists, a slew of activist lawyers, and anyone else with the money and influence to help me get elected.

HRC – “Because we all need to be part of the discussion if we’re all going to be part of the solution. And all of us have to be part of the solution.”

Because limousine liberals are the solution to my fiscal problems, and sitting down to softball interviews with schmucks like Larry King [5] will be of tremendous help to me as I attempt to convince large numbers of Americans that I’m not really a communist.

HRC – “Let’s talk about how to bring the right end to the war in Iraq and to restore respect for America around the world.”

Let’s talk in nice, warm, totally disingenuous tones about how wrong it was for George W. Bush to get us into a war for oil, and why we must pull out of Iraq as soon as possible, even though doing so will demoralize our military and emboldened our enemies.

HRC – “How to make us energy independent and free of foreign oil.”

How we need to punish Exxon-Mobil and Chevron with millions of dollars in new taxes, and block any effort to increase oil production in the United States.

HRC – “How to end the deficits that threaten Social Security and Medicare.”

How to end deficits via accounting fraud and increased taxation across the board, while throwing billions of dollars more at Social Security and Medicare, and praying that those government-run monstrosities don’t completely collapse… at least while I’m president.

HRC – “And let’s definitely talk about how every American can have quality affordable health care.”

And let’s definitely talk about the socialized medicine plan that I’m still determined to force down everyone’s throat, even though practically nobody supported it the first time around. [6]

HRC – “You know, after six years of George Bush, it is time to renew the promise of America.”

You know, I’m actually glad that Bush won the last election, because I’d never get my party’s nomination if John Kerry were in the White House today. Still, the useful idiots [7] who make up my support base will abandon me like rats from a sinking ship if I don’t take a cheap shot at the president every now and again.

HRC – “Our basic bargain that no matter who you are or where you live, if you work hard and play by the rules, you can build a good life for yourself and your family.”

I don’t care who you are, where you live, or how hard you work, if you’re not among the liberal elite in this country, what you think is irrelevant to me, and I’m going to do everything in my power to seize control over every aspect of your pathetic life.

HRC – “I grew up in a middle-class family in the middle of America, and we believed in that promise.”

I grew up in a middle-class family, and not a day goes by that I don’t thank the gods of fate for delivering me from that nightmarish existence.

HRC – “I still do. I’ve spent my entire life trying to make good on it.”

I still have contempt for the American capitalist system, which is why I went into politics in the first place. I’ve spent my entire life trying to make huge amounts of money without contributing anything of real value to society.

HRC – “Whether it was fighting for women’s basic rights or children’s basic health care. Protecting our Social Security, or protecting our soldiers. It’s a kind of basic bargain, and we’ve got to keep up our end.”

Whether I was defending murderous Black Panther members, [8] covering up my husband’s sexual exploits, [9] or accepting over a million dollars in illegal contributions to my first Senate campaign, [10] [11] I always managed to walk away with my cloak of respectability intact.

HRC – “So let’s talk. Let’s chat. Let’s start a dialogue about your ideas and mine.”

So let’s forget about all those pesky little details of my life, and focus instead on destroying Barack Obama’s [12] reputation before next year’s Democratic primaries.

HRC – “Because the conversation in Washington has been just a little one-sided lately, don’t you think? And we can all see how well that works.”

Because the conversation in the media has been a little too Obama-centric lately, don’t you think? And we all know what happens to people who get between me and the spotlight.

HRC – “And while I can’t visit everyone’s living room, I can try. And with a little help from modern technology, I’ll be holding live online video chats this week, starting Monday.”

And while I can’t force the folks at CNN and MSNBC to like me more than Obama, I can sure as hell dig up some dirt on the guy, which should eventually cause opportunists like Chris Matthews [13] and Wolf Blitzer [14] to turn on him like a pack of rabid weasels.

HRC – “So let the conversation begin. I have a feeling it’s going to be very interesting.”

So let the mud-slinging begin! I have a feeling my attack machine will have that amateur on his knees in a matter of months, and if all goes well, he’ll be reduced to a political eunuch long before the 2008 Convention.

Less than half a month has passed since the Democrats took control of Congress, and already they are proving to everyone just how far to the left their party has slid over the years. In typical neo-communist fashion, Representative Maurice Hinchey of New York [1] has decided to drag the long-buried – but apparently not quite dead – Fairness Doctrine [2] out of its tomb, dust it off, rename it the Media Ownership Reform Act (MORA) [3], and attempt to replace free speech in the media with what he and his ilk like to refer to as “fair speech”.

Of course, neither Mr. Hinchey nor his bill’s 16 liberal co-sponsors can explain why they believe free speech is so unfair to begin with that they feel compelled to replace it with something else. And it should come as no surprise to anyone that clearly delineating the criteria by which someone in the media may be deemed “fair” is also something they’re unwilling to do, since determining the difference between what’s fair and what’s unfair is purely subjective in nature.

For instance, is it fair that members of Congress get huge salaries for doing next to nothing, while the vast majority of their constituents have to work much harder for far less money? Many people would say no, but I’m betting Maurice Hinchey and his cronies on Capitol Hill don’t feel that way.

In my opinion, forcing the children of poor people into a public school system which condemns most of them to a life of quiet desperation and, at best, mediocre employment prospects is unfair in the extreme, but you won’t see the new Fairness Police in Washington D.C. offering any of America’s underprivileged kids the opportunity to attend private schools anytime soon.

Mr. Hinchey states that MORA “seeks to restore integrity and diversity to America’s media system by lowering the number of media outlets that one company is permitted to own in a single market,” but he fails to point out that no company is going to be successful enough to buy very many media outlets in any market unless it gives its audience what it wants. Fed up with the left-wing bias that has permeated the television news industry for decades, today’s media consumers demand both diversity and integrity from the people who provide them with news and information. That’s why talk radio programs are so popular these days. Shows like Rush Limbaugh’s afford their listeners with a wide variety of viewpoints, and their hosts routinely cite articles from the most reputable news sources around.

While it’s no secret that Mr. Limbaugh is a staunch right-winger, half of the news stories he reads over the airwaves come straight from the New York Times, the Washington Post, and many other left-leaning publications, and just as many liberals call into his program as conservatives. If they didn’t, his ratings would plummet! Nobody wants to listen to three hours of people agreeing with each other about everything. Folks tune into Rush to hear him argue with liberals – and sometimes other conservatives – not to listen to a bunch of saps tell him how wonderful they think he is.

Comrade Hinchey also relates that his bill “reinstates the Fairness Doctrine” in order to “protect fairness and accuracy in journalism,” yet there is at least as much accuracy in news reporting today as there was before 1987 when the original Fairness Doctrine was done away with. Does anyone really believe that the now infamous Bush National Guard document story of 2004 would have been exposed for the fraud it was if the media of today resembled the media of the 1970s?

And need I remind anyone that the main reason why the FCC discarded its rules concerning (supposed) fairness was because they actually discouraged debate on the more controversial issues of the day? Broadcasters didn’t want to risk being punished by the federal government for not being “fair enough” when it came to exhibiting ideological balance in their programming, so they simply avoided many hot-button issues altogether.

Between cable television, newspapers, talk radio, and the Internet, we have more access to information than at any time in our history, and although much of it is inaccurate, most of it is not. While it is difficult to know for sure, I suspect that the modern media brings us more truth than the Jurassic media ever did, because today’s technology provides tens of millions of Americans with the means to do something that Dan Rather apparently never learned how to do… fact-check.

Gone are the days when average citizens had no choice but to accept what was spoon-fed to them by the media elite. In case Mr. Hinchey hadn’t noticed, this is the year 2007, and folks like you and I have access to more information today than the entire CBS television network had only a few decades ago.

Isn’t that “fair” enough for you, Congressman, or do you think I need Al Gore to come to my home personally and preach to me about the dangers of human-caused global warming until my freakin’ ears bleed?

It’s no secret that Iran, and to a lesser degree, Syria, are responsible for supplying weapons to our enemies in Iraq, as well as encouraging would-be terrorists from their own lands to join the ranks of the blood-thirsty Islamo-fascist militias that our military and the Iraqi Army faces on a daily basis in the area known as the Sunni Triangle.

Both of these countries also directly support Hezbollah, the most well-organized terrorist group in the world, and next to Al-Qaeda, the most deadly. The United States and Israel know full well the threat posed by this extremist faction and their patron states, yet year after year passes with no substantial military action being taken against them. Why?

It’s all well and good that we are expending every available resource to destroy Al-Qaeda and its confederates worldwide, but for some inexplicable reason the terrorist organization which was responsible for more American deaths prior to 9/11 than any other in history is largely ignored by the Bush Administration. Israel as well seems to have concluded that taking the fight to these parasites isn’t worth the trouble, and every time I think about what’s going on in Lebanon these days, my stomach begins composing an overture to the next ‘Star Wars’ sequel.

Hezbollah is treated as if it were little more than a minor nuisance by the only two countries on earth that have ever exhibited any real, long-term commitment to advancing the cause of liberty in the Middle East, and I can’t for the life of me understand the mindset of the people charged with leading the free world in this global conflict we commonly refer to as the “War On Terrorism”.

It’s no surprise to me that the many thousands of virulent anti-Semites who inhabit every major global news outlet, left-wing government, and internationalist organization are more than happy to side with these radical Islamo-fascists as they make war against the state of Israel. Dirtbags like Kofi Annan and Vladimir Putin will support anyone who hates Jews, regardless of the negative, long-term affects of their actions upon everyone else. But why would George W. Bush and Ehud Olmert behave as if Hezbollah didn’t deserve to be wiped off the face of the planet, and their benefactors in Iran and Syria right along with them?

While we were fighting against Japan and Germany in World War II, we didn’t just turn a blind eye to Italy! Yes, the Japanese were our main target at first, and as soon as we got our act together, we went after the leader of the pack, the Nazis, but at no time did we ever say to ourselves that Mussolini’s fascist army didn’t have a major ass-whooping coming to it.

This is war, damnit! Why aren’t we kicking the living crap out of every terrorist we can find, no matter what name is applied to his particular extremist organization? And why the hell are we even considering negotiating with the leaders of nations which have clearly sided with our enemies in this war, especially one that’s determined to build a nuclear bomb and thinks that Israel should be, in the words of its own president, “wiped off the map”?

Anyone who thinks that Iran’s leaders can be bargained with, or that threatening them with some useless U.N. resolution is going to dissuade them from eventually turning Jerusalem into a parking lot, is crazier than Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. How many times does diplomacy have to fail before the democracies of the west come to the realization that the only way to stop violent despots from threatening the world is to bomb them and their followers into dust?

The last time the United States took the approach to warfare that we’re taking today, we won every major battle we fought… right up until the day we lost the war. That was over 30 years ago, and an entire generation of our best and bravest has yet to recover fully from that politically-engineered defeat.

The main difference between the current war and Vietnam is that losing this time around won’t just humiliate us and leave hundreds of thousands of innocent foreigners to be slaughtered at the hands of our enemies. No, failing to achieve victory against the forces of Islamo-fascism will, in all likelihood, lead to a nuclear holocaust on our own soil!

If you thought Hitler was a menace, try Hitler with ten megatons of nuclear destructive force at his disposal, and fifty million followers so fanatical that they would willingly give their lives to ensure the utter annihilation of every Jew and Christian on earth.

Do you think I’m just trying to scare you with all this doomsday scenario stuff? If you do then think again! I haven’t even attempted to describe the devastation of an actual nuclear strike on an American city, nor is it my desire to do so at this time. Suffice it to say that the things you’ve imagined in your worst nightmares don’t begin to equal the horrors of such a reality.

Kim Jong Il managed to get his grubby little hands on a nuclear weapon by promising that he’d play nice with the rest of the world if only President Clinton would stop insisting he treat his own people like human beings. Slick Willy left himself wide open to a hell of a sucker-punch back in the ’90s, and now there’s one more tin-pot dictator in the world with the ability to kill more people in a single day than Pol Pot did in his entire murderous career.

Still, as lunatic regimes go, the one led by Chairman Kim is at least manageable. China’s leaders, even though they are no allies of ours, do indeed recognize that a nuclear North Korea threatens the stability of the very region they inhabit, and will do what is necessary to keep its barking-mad leader from going postal on South Korea, Japan, or any other country in the neighborhood. Little Kim isn’t about to screw with the ChiComs, regardless of his posturing, and at least for the time being, the threat of his arsenal remains relatively minimal.

However, the same cannot be said of the current Iranian government. Like Hitler’s dreaded Third Reich, this malignant cabal is composed of stark-staring maniacs who apparently fear no one. Moreover, their objectives are founded in an ideology which has existed since “the prophet” Muhammad himself walked the earth some 1,500 years ago, and belief systems that old tend to die hard.

Tell me, does this seem to you like the best time in history for the American people to pack it in? Should the Israelis retreat within the ever-shrinking borders of their own country, and pray that those who’ve conspired against them from the day their nation was established will just decide to stop attacking them for no apparent reason?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but free people are obliged to fight for liberty every day of their lives, no matter what the odds, no matter what the cost, no matter what some defeatist coward may have to say about it. Free people are free because they’re FIGHTERS, not because they roll over and expose their bellies every time some punk gets in their face!

Sir Winston Churchill once said:

“You ask, What is our policy? I will say; it is to wage war, by sea, land and air, with all our might and with all the strength that God can give us: to wage war against a monstrous tyranny, never surpassed in the dark, lamentable catalogue of human crime. That is our policy. You ask, What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory… victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival.”

He made that statement over 60 years ago in reference to the global struggle against Nazism, one of the greatest threats to humanity in the annals of recorded history, and second only to Communism in terms of the number of innocent people exterminated in its name during the 20th century.

Of course, Churchill recognized the threat of Hitler’s regime well before the start of World War II, and spoke out against the irrational view of his fellow countrymen that the Germans could be pacified. His warnings fell on deaf ears, however, and as history now shows, a catastrophe of unparalleled proportions soon followed. The appeasers within the British government and elsewhere around the word waited too long to try and stop Hitler’s war machine, and their naiveté led directly to the slaughter of tens of millions of people.

Pursuing peace with a group of fanatics whose stated intentions from the beginning were to eliminate the Jews and conquer the world (sound familiar?) proved to be so profoundly idiotic that applying the term ‘brain dead’ to the people who tried it, would only be acceptable today if doing so wasn’t such an insult to the clinically deceased. At least the dead have a good reason for not fighting evil when its standing right in front of them. What was the Allies’ excuse for their inaction prior to the Nazi invasion of Poland?

And what is our generation’s excuse for not striking at the heart of Islamo-fascism before it is able to unleash the power of an atomic weapon upon infidels like you, and your parents, and your children? The politicians who currently run the democracies of the world act like they have no recollection of the events of the 20th century, and seem more than willing to repeat the horrendous mistakes of the not-too-distant past.

They claim – just as their predecessors did in the 1930s – that they are merely seeking a peaceful resolution to the conflict at hand, but if you ask me, they have been stricken with rigor mortis of the spirit, and it is up to those of us who are not yet ready for the boneyard to take decisive action against the eternal forces of darkness while time is still on our side.

Every once in a while (and don’t tell me you haven’t done this yourself) I allow my mind to drift off into fantasy-land for a brief period of time, where I begin to envision what this great nation of ours would be like if the most qualified and intelligent people around actually held positions of authority in our government. Earlier today I lapsed into that exact mental state, so I decided to take a few notes while I was there, and I came up with the following list of folks who, in my humble opinion, would best be suited to run the Executive branch in 2008.

Keep in mind, however, that some of the individuals mentioned in this article were added to it several hours after my daydreaming session had ended, because, at the time I couldn’t remember the titles of some of our nation’s less well-known Cabinet posts. I trust you’ll forgive me if a few of my choices are somewhat less impressive than the rest. After all, who would YOU pick to be the Secretary of Agriculture?

By any means, I now present to you my personal fantasy picks for President, Vice President, and the various Cabinet Secretaries of the United States. After each person listed below I’ve included a simple paragraph outlining their respective qualifications… except for the bottom five individuals, whom I’d never heard of before today, but who appear to be pretty decent public servants nonetheless. Of course, you don’t have to take my word for that. You can always click on the links I’ve placed below each of their names, which should provide you with all the pertinent biographical information you may require.

President – Newt Gingrich
http://www.newt.org/backpage.asp?art=15
Of all the leading conservative politicians in America, I can think of no one who is more intelligent, articulate, knowledgeable, or serious-minded than former House Speaker Gingrich. Since leaving office in 1999, Mr. Gingrich has written many articles, policy papers, and books on a wide variety of subjects, and few politicians can match this former history professor’s speech-making abilities. If there is any Republican in America who is more hated by leftists than George W. Bush, it’s Newt… and for good reason; when compared to him, every liberal in Washington D.C. sounds like a babbling nitwit.

Vice President – Bill Owens
http://www.colorado.gov/governor/biography.html
Simply put, this popular, two-term, Colorado Governor, former state House member, former state Senator, and former state Treasurer is one of the most effective elected officials in the nation today. He holds a Masters degree in public administration from the University of Texas, and is considered an expert on Russian affairs. Known for his fiscal responsibility, predilection for lowering taxes, and an unwavering determination to improve the public school system, Mr. Owens is widely regarded as one of the rising stars of the Republican party.

Attorney General – Mark Levin
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_Levin
What can I say about this man that Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, and practically every well-informed conservative in America hasn’t already said? This accomplished author, Constitutional Law expert, and talk radio host isn’t called “The Great One” for nothing. Known for his brilliant legal mind, as well as an acerbic wit and abhorrence for judicial activism, Mark Levin, who currently heads the Landmark Legal Foundation, is uniquely qualified to head the U.S. Department of Justice… and if you don’t believe me, just ask him!

Secretary Of Defense – General John Abizaid
http://www.defenselink.mil/bios/abizaid_bio.html
If hands-on leadership and over three decades of experience fighting for our country are what you’re looking for in a Defense Department head, you need look no further than the current U.S. CentCom Commander. As a West Point graduate and four-star Army General, whose service decorations include the Defense Distinguished Service Medal (with Oak Leaf Cluster), the Defense Superior Service Medal, the Legion of Merit (with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters), the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal (with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters), John Abizaid stands out as one of the finest military leaders of our time.

Secretary Of State – Dinesh D’Souza
http://www.dineshdsouza.com/more/about.html
Any American who has ever heard this man deliver a speech on the virtues of this, his adoptive country, would be hard pressed to walk away from the event feeling anything but pride. A native of Mumbai, India, Dinesh moved to the U. S. as a youth, and is now a naturalized American citizen. He is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Dartmouth College, a former Senior Policy Analyst for the Reagan White House, a former Editor of various political affairs magazines, a Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution, a former Fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, and a best-selling author of – among other books – ‘What’s So Great about America’ and ‘The End of Racism ‘.

Secretary Of Homeland Security – David McIntyre
http://homelandsecurity.tamu.edu/staff/director/dr-david-h-mcintyre.html
Dr. McIntyre is a retired Army Colonel who holds a BS in Engineering from West Point, and a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Maryland. He is the former Deputy Director of the ANSER Institute for Homeland Security, and currently heads the Integrative Center for Homeland Security at Texas A&M University. He has taught national security/homeland security strategy at senior levels of government for nearly two decades, has worked in the office of the Army Chief of Staff in Washington, DC, and lectured at the Maxwell School of National Security Studies, the National War College, the Naval War College, and George Washington University.

Secretary Of The Treasury – Thomas Sowell
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thomas_Sowell
Aside from Alan Greenspan and the recently deceased Milton Friedman, no American economist is better known or more well-respected than Thomas Sowell, whose syndicated columns are published in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes Magazine, and Capitalism Magazine. He holds an A.B. in Economics from Harvard College, an A.M. in Economics from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, were he studied under Nobel Prize-winning economist George Stigler. He has written 5 books on economics, as well as two dozen more on various other topics, and is currently a Senior Fellow at the Hoover Institution.

Secretary Of Education – William Bennett
http://www.bennettmornings.com/agnosticchart?charttype=minichart&chartID=22&formatID=1&useMiniChartID=true&destinationpage=/pg/jsp/general/biography.jsp
Dr. Bennett is a former Reagan Administration Secretary of Education, as well as former Director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy under President George H. W. Bush. He holds a Law degree from Harvard University, and a Ph.D. in Political Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin. He is a best-selling book author and highly valued speaker on the topics of American culture and morality, among others. He believes in competency tests for educators, performance-based pay, ending tenure, allowing knowledgeable professionals with no formal education training to teach, and providing parents with greater school choices.

Secretary Of Energy – Pete Domenici
http://domenici.senate.gov/committees/enrcommittee.cfm
With 33 years of continuous Senatorial service under his belt, Pete Domenici holds the record for the longest tenure of any New Mexican elected to the upper house of the U.S. Congress, wherein he recently cast his 13,000th vote. He is a former junior high school mathematics teacher, lawyer, and author of two books on the subject of nuclear power. Radical feminists HATE Phyllis, who headed a successful grassroots campaign to prevent passage of the Equal Rights Amendment in the 1970s. She believed that such an amendment would lead to negative cultural shifts which would inevitably result in things like homosexual marriage and government-funded abortions. Mrs. Schlafly is a lawyer who has authored 21 books on subjects ranging from child abuse to judicial tyranny, and has testified before 50 Congressional and State Legislative committees on Constitutional, family, and national defense issues. At 81 years of age, she is as spry as most 20-year-olds, giving daily radio commentaries, writing a widely published syndicated column, running a national volunteer organization known as the Eagle Forum, publishing a monthly newsletter, and debating cultural issues on college campuses across the country.
While he may be best known as the younger brother of the President, Jeb is no Billy Carter. In 1973 he graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a Bachelor’s degree in Latin American studies from the University of Texas at Austin, later taking a job with the Texas Commerce Bank. Several years later he moved to Florida, where he worked as a real estate developer and consultant, and eventually a political lobbyist. Today he is the Governor of Florida, with a long and distinguished record of accomplishments which include maintaining a 3.0 unemployment rate in his state, and cutting taxes every year since 1998. Often characterized as brilliant, he is also a man of high principles, and his hard work and determination have transformed Florida into one of the most successful states in the union.

Senator Dole is the wife of former Senator and former Republican Presidential nominee Bob Dole, and she currently Chairs the National Republican Senatorial Committee. She was Deputy Assistant to President Nixon for Consumer Affairs, later being appointed to the Federal Trade Commission. Afterward, she became the nation’s first female Secretary of Transportation under the Reagan Administration, and then Secretary of Labor under the first Bush Administration. Prior to being elected to the U.S. Senate, she headed the American Red Cross, and holds a Masters degree in Education and Government, as well as a Law degree from Harvard University.

A Few Parting Thoughts
After having proofread everything I’ve written above, it strikes me that there are only two female members of my White House “dream team”, and most of the male members are white. I suppose it’s possible that if race or sex had been on my mind at the time I was formulating my list, I might have been tempted to drop a couple of those caucasian fellows and replace them with men or women of some other race… but I doubt it. Call me unconventional, but physical characteristics usually don’t enter into my thought processes when I’m considering a person’s qualifications for an administrative job, and once I’ve made a decision on such an issue, I require a better reason for changing my mind than simply satisfying the whims of the pc-police.

Since race-baiters and left-wing ideologues do not intimidate me, anyone who feels the need to call me a racist, sexist, or some other ‘ist’ just because this article doesn’t pass their personal diversity test, is hereby encouraged to email me at his or her earliest convenience. However, be forewarned that my response to you may not be exactly pleasant. You see, it’s precisely because I’m not a bigot that I’ve selected the people I have to run my imaginary government, despite the fact that every ACLU fan out there will probably consider me to be more hateful than Hitler for not creating a mock Cabinet that “looks like America.” If you ask me, choosing political leaders who “stand for America” is far more important than keeping up appearances, and anyone who can’t appreciate that is truly prejudiced.

A few weeks ago I wrote an article titled ‘The Underrepresented Conservative Base’ 1, in which I speculated that “Maybe losing the House of Representatives for a couple of years is exactly what the Republican party needs to wake it up and give it a great big shove back toward its conservative roots.” This statement evoked a considerable amount of anger from Republican party loyalists, who denounced my opinion as defeatist, and even questioned my ideological integrity. Their reaction only served to reinforce my belief that the GOP is in big trouble at the moment, and will remain so until its blind supporters and increasingly wimpy leaders pull their collective head out of the sand and move back to the right where true Republicans belong.

A popular media myth these days is that most voters want to see the two main parties move more toward the political center, and that the partisan bickering which has always existed between them will come to a screeching halt once the voice of America’s “moderate majority” has finally been heard. Aside from the fact that one would have to be as naive as a 2-year old to believe such tripe, I think it’s fair to point out that compromise, while being far less noisy and time-consuming than fighting, is also less productive in the long run, at least most of the time.

Nothing settles an issue like a good, old-fashioned brawl that leaves one of the two scrappers bloodied and whimpering in the gutter. Fighting is what politics is all about, because most people have strong opinions as to the way any given problem should be solved, and they are not interested in half-measures. If you doubt that contention, try winning an election by telling voters that everyone’s opinions are equally valid, and if elected you won’t take a strong stand on anything.

Compromise is what has led our government to create border security legislation that’s incapable of actually securing our borders. It is responsible for unbridled federal spending 2, a monstrously complex tax code 3, the confirmation of activist judges 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and campaign finance reform laws that not only fail to keep big money out of politics, but infringe upon the free speech rights of every American 9.

I don’t know about you, but these aren’t the kinds of things I’m willing to compromise on. After all, is protecting our sovereignty really too much to ask of our government? How about choosing federal judges who behave like impartial arbiters of justice instead of advocates for political causes? Is it not possible to devise a tax system that ordinary taxpayers can understand without seeking legal counsel?

As a conservative, I don’t want to reach middle ground with liberals, because LIBERALS ARE ALMOST ALWAYS WRONG! I don’t want to compromise on tax cuts, because that means eliminating some of them, and ALL TAX CUTS ARE GOOD FOR THE ECONOMY 10, 11! I don’t want to play ‘let’s make a deal’ with leftists over college admissions or employment quotas, because AFFIRMATIVE ACTION IS INSTITUTIONALIZED RACISM!

I’m sure a lot of “moderates” out there will disagree with me, but those who do need to explain what they think the majority of Americans will gain from abandoning their core values, other than the mere appearance of progress. I for one would like to see some REAL progress for a change, and I’d rather not sell out everything I believe in just so my political opponents will think of me as fair-minded. Frankly, I don’t give half a load of crap what liberals think of me, and I’m starting to care even less about the opinions of ideological fence-straddlers.

If the leaders of the GOP think that moving the party to the middle of the road is going to give them back their majority status in Congress, they’re in for a rude awakening in 2008. For every “moderate” they bring into the fold, they can kiss two conservatives good-bye, and for every John McCain 9, 12 they support, they can count on a couple more Nancy Pelosis 13 gaining positions of power in our government.

The Democrats didn’t win this last election because they’re more popular now than they were two years ago, they won it because Republicans are LESS popular, and the Grand Old Party is going to keep losing ground until its leadership adopts a truly conservative agenda. George W. Bush has proved that he is unwilling to advance such an agenda, and his most recent calls for a new tone in Washington D.C. make him look both weak-kneed and foolish. Still, I guess now the President will be able to get his amnesty-for-illegal-aliens program 14 passed into law, so at least we’ve got that to look forward to in the coming year.

Oh, and one last thing… dumping Don Rumsfeld 15 the day after the Republicans lost control of Congress was maybe the dumbest political move I’ve ever seen in my life! Thanks George, we really needed THAT little morale booster on top of all those paper-thin midterm election defeats. I have a feeling Al-Qaeda will soon be thanking you as well, in their own special way.

Tune your television to any political talk show during this venomous electoral season, and you’re bound to hear a bunch of pundits speculating on the future of the Republican party. Even before the Mark Foley e-diddling scandal broke a couple of weeks ago, conventional wisdom held that the GOP was headed for a seriously weakened majority presence in Congress, and perhaps even minority status in one of the two houses.

For the first time in quite a while I’ve found myself agreeing with the conclusions of most political prognosticators on tv, yet I disagree with the reasons they usually give for the Republicans’ decline in popularity. You see, the thing about conventional wisdom is that the truly wise among us have little to do with its evolution. The fact that the majority of opinion-meisters and political junkies sometimes reach the right conclusion, doesn’t mean that the logic they’ve used to get there is sound. Their ability to occasionally place the right bet has more to do with the law of averages than anything else. Any blackjack dealer in Vegas will tell you that if you hold on 15 every time it’s dealt to you, eventually the house will bust on a hit to a lower hand, but doing that doesn’t make you a shrewd card player.

Again and again we’ve heard that the primary reasons why the GOP is in trouble is because its leadership supports an unpopular war, or because it has failed to reach out to “moderates” within the American voter base. And, of course, most recently a new element has been added to the equation, which is the notion that Congressional Republicans are all conspirators in some evil plot to molest children.

None of this twaddle has any basis in reality, it’s just more useless conjecture from the ever-deteriorating Jurassic media, but it gets a lot of folks worked up into a snit, so in the absence of any genuinely thoughtful analysis, rhetoric such as this continues to get peddled as the truth. Just as color blind people rely on the positions of the signal lights on a traffic semaphore to inform them of when to stop, slow down, or go, the drive-by press relies on equally limited vision in the arena of political discourse to tell them what is real and what isn’t. Transpose the red and green lights at an intersection, and eventually some unfortunate, color-blind driver will end up slamming his car into a crosstown bus. Replace common-sense thinking with biased assumptions, and people like Chris Matthews will be unable to avoid repeated head-on collisions with reality.

Even though practically every news agency in the country remains fixated on the Congressional Page scandal for the moment, no rational person is going to vote Democrat this year because they think all Republicans condone homosexual pedophelia, or because they believe that the party of Bill Clinton, Robert Byrd, and Gerry Studds has suddenly become a fountainhead of morality. No, the average American voter is a little smarter than that, no matter what the pollsters would have us believe.

As for the war, the majority of U.S. citizens may not be happy with the way things are going in Iraq at the present time, but when you ask them if the Democrats would do a better job of handling that particular situation, the answer is a resounding no! Apparently, even though things aren’t going as well over there as we’d like them to, most Americans aren’t ready to throw in the towel just yet, and they know that if the Democrats had their way, that’s exactly what would happen.

Regardless of what you may hear on television these days, the only thing you have to do in order to figure out why the GOP doesn’t have the backing it once did, is to ask the people who make up its foundation what they think. I’ve been doing just that for the past year or more, and I can tell you with a reasonable amount of certainty that conservatives believe they are no longer being represented, either by Congress or the President, and THAT is why the Republican party is in trouble.

Remember in 2004 when every right-wing talking head was saying that the Democrats were only interested in voting AGAINST George W. Bush, not FOR anything? I certainly couldn’t argue with that assessment at the time, and all I’m asking now is what have the Republicans done in recent years that should motivate me to vote FOR them in November? Let’s see, they’ve increased domestic spending by leaps and bounds… violated the First Amendment to the Constitution via the McCain-Feingold Campaign Reform Act… allowed a commission on the 9/11 atrocities to be formed that was so riddled with corrupt leftists that its findings aren’t worth the paper they’re printed on… turned a blind eye to the massive illegal alien problem facing our nation, until public opinion forced them to draft legislation that sorta, kinda deals with the issue… and caved into pressure from the left to treat captured terrorists as if they were nothing but rambunctious Boy Scouts!

Gee, that’s real inspiring stuff, no?

Sure, the Bush tax cuts were a nice change of pace back in 2001, and in spite of the high price of gasoline over the past couple of years, our economy keeps humming along at an impressive clip, but what about the ever-rising cost of health insurance, the inevitable collapse of the Social Security system, or the deplorable state of our public schools? It’s easy enough to blame our government’s inability to correct these problems on Democrat obstructionism, but the fact remains that the leadership of the GOP has failed repeatedly to pressure its more left-leaning members to vote for the kind of proposals that the vast majority of Republicans support.

Should every right-wing voter in the country just bite the bullet one more time, and reelect the same public officials who have proved again and again that they are incapable of advancing the conservative agenda in Congress, or should we send the GOP a message that we refuse to settle for incompetence, no matter how much worse a Democrat-controlled Congress may prove to be? The Republican party has spent the last few years politically alienating me and everyone like me, and now we’re all supposed to believe that everything will be sunshine and lollipops if we just “stay the course?”

Yeah right, and if I click my heels together three times and say the words “there’s no place like home”, I’ll wake up tomorrow in an America where honor, integrity, and statesmanship have replaced political correctness, media soundbites, and mindless partisan rhetoric.

Maybe losing the House of Representatives for a couple of years is exactly what the Republican party needs to wake it up and give it a great big shove back toward its conservative roots. Ronald Reagan didn’t win by the biggest landslide in electoral history by kissing up to liberals, and neither will any future Republican candidate. Retaining control of both houses of Congress this time around may only serve to embolden the more “moderate” (aka liberal) elements within the GOP, while further estranging its right-wing base, and if that happens, Republicans can kiss the White House good-bye in 2008.

Do everything in my power to advance legislation which declares English to be the official language of the United States, and directs that no other language shall be used in the administration of the federal government’s internal, day-to-day business by any department or office thereof, for any reason whatsoever.

17.) Do everything in my power to advance legislation which calls for a perpetually balanced federal budget, allowing for exceptions during times of extreme military conflict, when achieving such may not always be feasible.

18.) Do everything in my power to advance legislation which requires all voters seeking to participate in a federal election to provide photographic identification to poll administrators prior to voting.

19.) Do everything in my power to advance legislation which affirms that all non-uniformed, unlawful, enemy combatants, and non-signatories to the four treaties known collectively as the Geneva Conventions 7, are not subject to the protections thereof, and that any finding to the contrary by any court, be it foreign or domestic, is to be resolutely rejected as irrational and illegitimate.

20.) Never speak disparagingly of the United States of America in a public place, or to any news agency, while traveling abroad, regardless of the nature of the trip.

Are you a conservative? If so, have you ever asked yourself why you sometimes feel obliged to inject painfully obvious statements into your debates with liberals? Here’s what I mean. Suppose you’re arguing in favor of criminal profiling at airports with a radical leftist, and you’re making the point that most international terrorist groups are comprised of Muslim men between the ages of 18 and 40. Immediately following that statement you find yourself saying something like: “Of course, that doesn’t mean that ALL Muslim men in that age group are terrorists.” You mention this even though you know that the little voice in the back of your mind is about to say: “No Sh**, Sherlock! Did you figure that out all by yourself, or did you have to consult a five-year-old first?”

Sound familiar?

I recently caught myself engaging in this very same sort of behavior, while trying to convince a Vichy-American (aka liberal) that stopping the flow of illegal aliens into our country is a necessary prerequisite to all other immigration reform measures. I related that before you can put a cast on an arm with a compound fracture, you first need to stop the bleeding, or the patient will die in spite of your best efforts. I stated that the U.S. is hemorrhaging resources like a stuck pig in order to accommodate the millions of illegal immigrants who’ve entered our country in recent decades, and that the influx of these people must be halted before the drain on our economy becomes too overwhelming for us to deal with. Then, due to what I now recognize as being reflexive conditioning, I said: “That doesn’t mean I’m against LEGAL immigration, mind you.”

The first thing the little voice in my head had to say upon hearing that remark was: “Hey buddy, you’d better hurry up… it’s ‘Chutes-and-Ladders’ night at the happy-home, and you’re running late.” Indeed, I had walked right into that one, and all I could say to my inner-voice in response was: “Sorry… I don’t know WHAT I was thinking.”

After the initial wave of embarrassment had passed, it occurred to me why I’d said so superfluous a thing. If I hadn’t distinguished between the words legal and illegal when I did, my liberal adversary would have started lecturing me (in that wholly condescending way that only liberals can) on the fact that my ancestors had been immigrants, that immigrants like them built this country, and that immigration… blah blah blah… yada yada yada…

At that moment I felt as if the mere act of engaging him in conversation was draining me of my common sense. It was like some ravenous, IQ-sucking tapeworm had been released into my cerebral cortex, causing me to blurt out redundant phrases in much the same way that a tourette’s syndrome sufferer shrieks obscenities… suddenly, and for reasons undetectable by the casual observer.

Shortly thereafter the concept of ‘Obligatory Political Correctness Syndrome’ was born.

Like ‘Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder’ (ADHD), the term ‘Obligatory Political Correctness Syndrome’ (OPCS) is indicative of objectionable behavioral trends prevalent in modern American society, however, it is conservative-specific and it is not treatable with Ridalin, Adderall, or any other FDA-approved drug.

Nevertheless, a cure is now at hand!

Having recognized the warning signs of OPCS early, I took immediate measures to rid myself of its disabling effects, and so can you. Yes dear friends, there is hope for each and everyone of you out there who still suffer from this most insidious disorder, and I encourage all who read this article to share it with as many conservatives as humanly possible.

The four-step process for combating OPCS is as follows:

Step One – Read the book ‘Muzzled’ by Michael Smerconish. This volume really kicks political correctness where the sun don’t shine, and will help you to get your mind geared correctly as you continue along the path to a pc-free life.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/159555050X/103-5479135-2481450?v=glance&n=283155

Step Two – Listen regularly to ultra-conservative talk radio programs like the ones listed below. No undertaking I can think of will better reinforce the lessons you learn from the previous step than this one.
Laura Ingraham – KLUP Radio – 9am (est) Weekdays – On-line broadcast available at http://www.klup.com
Rush Limbaugh – WMAL Radio – Noon (est) Weekdays – On-line broadcast available at http://www.wmal.com
Howie Carr WRKO Radio – 3pm (est) Weekdays – On-line broadcast available at http://www.howiecarr.com
Mark Levin – WABC Radio -Â 6pm (est) Weekdays – On-line broadcast available at http://www.wabcradio.com

Step Three – Practice discussing the issues described in the opening paragraphs of this column with a fellow conservative, but ask him to pretend that he’s a liberal. This role-playing exercise will help you to emotionally prepare yourself for the absurd rhetoric you’ll inevitably get from real leftists in the future, while you attempt to avoid responding with equally absurd OPCS-corrupted statements.

Step Four – Avoid liberals like the plague for at least 6 months. If exposure to left-wingers is unavoidable during this period, simply wear a button on your clothing with the following words printed on it in both English and French: “I am an Iraq War veteran. Ask me what I think about the mainstream media.” The chances are extremely good that no leftist will come near you, and when conservatives comment upon it, as they surely will, simply hand them a copy of this article.

Now, I know this last step will be difficult for many of you to accomplish, since you probably enjoy humiliating left-wingers in heated debates. However, until you’ve built up a natural immunity to OPCS by following the first three steps, the likelihood is high that you will continue to succumb to its negative influence upon your psyche. I cannot stress more strongly how important it is that you not allow yourself to be lulled into a false sense of wellness during this, the final and most critical stage in your recovery.

Remember, liberalism is itself a mental disorder, and sadly, one for which there is no known cure. Suffice it to say that you’re not going to convert any hard-line lefties to conservatism, regardless of how many facts you confront them with, so don’t worry about missing out on the opportunity to deprogram one of them in the immediate future. To paraphrase an old saying about horses: “you can lead a liberal to truth, but you can’t make him think.” Keep those words etched indelibly in your mind as you navigate through the troubled waters of OPCS toward the welcoming shores of conservative sanity.

Remember, the weakest link defines the integrity of the chain, and we must all work together to assure that the chain of conservatism remains strong for future generations. Of course, some of you may need added assistance along the way, and anyone who does not feel that they can overcome this dreaded affliction alone is encouraged to call the OPCS support line at the following toll-free number:

I think I’ve come up with a foolproof plan to end crime in America, and I have liberalism to thank for it. It consists of disbanding every police unit in the country and encouraging the United Nations Security Council to draft a binding resolution that places strict sanctions on domestic criminals who continue to break the law.

How do I know this will work? Well, I can’t be 100% positive that it will, but most people in the world support that very same plan when it comes to dealing with the problem of international terrorism, and everyone knows that the majority is never wrong, so it only makes sense that such a strategy would be effective when applied to U.S. domestic crime prevention.

Practically every left-leaning society on earth, as well as every major mainstream news agency, has concluded that fighting bad guys doesn’t work, and in fact, even attempting to stop them from committing antisocial acts only incites them to behave more objectionably later on. Just take a look at the current conflict in Lebanon. For the past couple of weeks, Israel has been viciously attacking members of Hezbollah, but is France, Spain, Russia, China, the BBC, CNN, or the New York Times congratulating the Israelis for their efforts? Of course not, because they all understand that only a ceasefire will bring peace to the region.

Now, I know what some of you right-wing warmongers out there are saying: if Israel agrees to a ceasefire, they’re the only ones who will actually cease firing, since it’s the job of terrorist groups like Hezbollah to attack people, just like it’s the job of rapists to rape women. Well, all I have to say to that is POPPYCOCK! Apparently you’ve forgotten that violence begets violence, and it is therefore only logical that if we treat Islamic militants with compassion and understanding, they’ll respond in kind.

The same goes for outlaws in our own country, but instead of sending international peacekeeping delegations to criminal hotspots like Detroit and Washington DC, and engaging in honest and open dialogue with inner-city street gangs, America’s fascist law enforcement agencies insist upon arresting and otherwise oppressing these poor, underprivileged people for simply committing crimes.

When are we going to learn that harassing our fellow human beings isn’t going to make them behave? Everyone but a few neanderthal Republicans appreciates the fact that spanking children when they act up only foments resentment in them, lowers their self-esteem, and makes them more aggressive than they were before. Thankfully, the concept of the “time-out” has gained wide acceptance in our society, and the barbaric disciplinary tactics that our parents and grandparents employed may soon be a thing of the past.

But I seem to have wandered off the beaten path here.

Getting back to the issue of crime prevention in America, I think it would also be a good idea to allow a few felons currently languishing in prison cells across the land to be released so that they can run for national public office. Clearly the convicted criminal community does not have the sort of representation in Congress that other Constitutionally protected groups enjoy, and I’m sure the ACLU would agree that this state of affairs amounts to blatant civil rights violations on the part of the Bush administration.

After all, Hezbollah holds nearly two dozen seats in the Lebanese Parliament, and its Palestinian counterpart is now controlled by representatives of Hamas. If these sovereign, albeit embryonic, democracies can extend the hand of inclusion and cooperation to those factions which some consider to be undesirable, why can’t we? It seems to me that this sort of approach to societal pacification is far more enlightened than the one we’ve taken in the past, which is to brutalize people who’s actions offend us in some way.

Ya know, I’ve been a conservative for as long as I can remember, and I’ve never before questioned the righteousness of my ideology, but over the past few days I’ve started to notice just how right liberals are when they say that right-wingers are mostly narrow-minded, hate-filled cretins, who pray for war and the death of innocent people… especially foreigners.

Now that I’ve seen the light, so to speak, I have decided to commit myself to the proposition that people are not only created equal, but that each individual remains equal to everyone else throughout his or her life, no matter what he or she does. This I recognize to be true because I have accepted at face value its foundational principle that morality is relative. Of course, I could be wrong but if I am, at least I can feel good about myself for having chosen non-violent means to achieve a hideous end for our society, and really, isn’t that the most important thing?

The dominant view today among legal scholars, law professors, practicing lawyers, and judges in this country is that the Constitution is a “living, breathing” document, and that judges on the highest federal benches are charged with “reinterpreting” its text so that it will better conform to “the evolving standards of decency that mark the progress of a maturing society” such as ours.

That perspective is, in my opinion, completely asinine.

The fact is that if you believe in that sort of Constitution then you believe in no Constitution at all, because when any legal document’s text can be redefined by judges anytime they feel like doing so, the ideas expressed therein cease to have any relevance. Supreme Court justices, as well as other federal jurists, who fail to be primarily concerned with what the drafters of our Constitution originally intended, must logically be more concerned with their own opinions of how the Constitution SHOULD have been written, and if that is the case, they have no business being judges. Simply put, if your agenda is to make changes to our Constitution, then present your amendment proposals to the American people like our founding fathers intended, and stop trying to circumvent the process by legislating from the bench!

Arguing in favor of judicial activism on any high court is no different that asserting that a district court judge who presides over a landlord-tenant dispute has the right to simply disregard the original rental agreement and write a new one on the spot, the terms of which each party involved must then be legally bound to until another judge decides to change it again.

Tell me, how would you like it if a some lawyer in a black robe determined, based upon his own ideological worldview, that you as a tenant should have your rent increased by $500 each month, even though your lease specifies a set amount with no provision for any such increase? Would you just nod your head and say, “that’s the way things go, because, after all, my rental agreement is a living, breathing document, and the judge certainly knows more about what’s best for me than I do”… or is it more likely that you would turn to the judge and ask “who are YOU to change the terms of MY rental agreement?”

Activism on any court is not only dangerous due to the fact that activists aren’t concerned with the intended meaning of legal texts, it is fascistic because those who practice it from the bench feel they have a right to redefine any of the principles upon which our laws are based whenever they happen to oppose them on ideological grounds. For instance, the Constitutional right of all Americans to exercise the religion of their choice, as expressed in the First Amendment, is rooted in the principle that lawmakers have no moral authority to dictate to anyone what they should or shouldn’t believe with respect to the nature of God, or the manner in which they may worship. While that amendment specifically relates that “Congress shall make no law respecting an ESTABLISHMENT of religion,” it in no way restricts the federal (or any state) government from displaying religious words and symbols on public buildings, monuments, currency, etc., because such acts are not coercive in nature.

CLEARLY the principle that has only recently been declared by atheists to be foundational to the First Amendment, which is that the government has no right to acknowledge the existence of God or the importance of religious beliefs in the development of our laws and culture, was completely alien to the people who crafted the Bill of Rights, as even the most cursory examination of America’s historical documents and public structures will confirm. Yet in spite of the overwhelming evidence to the contrary, judges across the land continue to insist that the atheist view is correct, because they do not feel obligated to consider the original intent of the founding fathers.

This sort of willful disregard for the truth is not only shameful, but in my opinion, criminal when engaged in by a judge, no matter what the subject, or on which side of the political aisle he stands. In the mind of an activist, though, it’s the end results that matter, not the means to those ends, and if bending the rules gets you were you need to go, so be it.

If you’ve been paying attention to them over the past few decades, you will have noticed that the reasons activist judges cite to justify their improper behavior usually include words to the effect that attitudes have changed in our country since the Constitution was written, and therefor that document must change with the times. But what they don’t tell you is that it’s OUR right as the citizenry of this country, and our right ALONE, to change it. The Constitution is not a set of loose guidelines, it is a contract between the federal government and every American citizen, and unless WE THE PEOPLE determine that it should be amended, its terms, like the terms of your lease, are designed to be strictly adhered to.

Moreover, there are any number of laws that we are free to create, amend, or repeal that regard topics not addressed in our Constitution. Among them are a host of morally based issues like abortion. When judges proclaim that it is unConstitutional for us to outlaw abortion based upon their opinion that a woman has an absolute right to privacy, one needs to ask oneself how they came to that conclusion, since no such right exists in the Constitution. Whether or not you personally agree with the argument that we SHOULD have an absolute right to privacy is irrelevant, because these activist judges aren’t asking your opinion, they are forcing theirs upon you!

But, you say, as long as they are giving me more rights than I had before, I’m not going to complain. All the better for me and everyone else, right? WRONG! You see, the very fact that you are allowing judges to give you new rights opens the door for them to take other rights away from you in the future, because those judges are no longer bound by any standard for making their decisions.

Originalist judges have a very simple and logical criteria for coming to the conclusions they do regarding any case before them. That criteria is one in which the questions are asked “what did the people who wrote this law intend to convey, and how should I go about determining the correct answer?”

Activists will argue that they should not be constrained by that particular criteria, yet they offer no other one in its place. Feel free to tell me what the standard is by which an activist judge reaches his decisions. You can’t, because there isn’t one, and once a strict judicial standard has been removed from the equation, all you are left with is judicial tyranny.

I’m sure you’ll let me know if you think I’m wrong, but I believe that people in one particularly troubled area of the world have a name for judges who arrive at their decisions in much the same way Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Stephen Breyer do… they’re called mullahs, and their idea of justice often involves beheading people who question their “supreme” wisdom.

Over the past several days I’ve received a number of emails from people regarding the subject of my previous article (1), in which I advanced the idea of creating a ‘Conservative Convention’ in the coming year, for the purpose of sending a “wake-up call” to the leaders of the Republican party prior to the 2008 presidential election.

While I expected a more than a few people to respond to my idea, I never thought that so many of my readers would misinterpret the essence of my proposal, and I have only myself to blame for that. Indeed, I was far too vague in my initial presentation to reasonably expect that many of the folks who read it would truly understand what I had in mind when I wrote it.

Most of the people who responded to me about my piece seemed to think that I was chiefly concerned with creating a conservative third-party, since political conventions are traditionally held by formal parties, and their common aim is to nominate presidential candidates.

How I could have deluded myself into thinking that my proposal would be taken in some other way, generally, is a mystery to me… but then, lots of things are a mystery to me, so I’ve decided to cut myself a little slack and get on with the task of advancing the ball down the field, so to speak.

And so, without further ado, I submit to you the following clarifications and definitions.

The Goal Of The Conservative Convention

The goal of the proposed convention is to promote conservative ideas on a national level, put pressure on our government to stop ignoring the will of America’s conservative majority, and provide right-wingers with a launch-pad for taking back the Republican party from the “moderate” elements that are currently eating away at its very core.

It is NOT the goal of the event to form a new political party, nor should it be to attack any particular Republican lawmaker, although fair criticism of certain policies embraced by the Republican party’s leadership would certainly not be discouraged.

The Delegates

Instead of each state choosing delegates by means of a primary or caucus system who would then be sent to the convention to support a particular candidate for president, each delegate of the conservative convention would support a bill proposal designed to provide our nation with a realistic conservative solution to one of the various challenges facing it, and those delegates would be chosen based upon the strength of their arguments and the soundness of their logic. Suffice it to say that the state from which each delegate hails would be irrelevant.

Each would-be delegate would submit a written proposal concerning a specific issue to the convention’s administrative panel (see definition below) and the two best proposals on each of the eight topics of consideration (see list of bill proposal topics below) would be selected for debate at the convention.

Every accepted pair of proposals would be debated between spokesmen for each side, and afterward they would be voted upon by the entire assemblage on the convention floor.

Once a proposal has been voted on and sanctioned by the majority of conventioneers, the administrative panel would be charged with submitting it in the form of a bill to Congress in the months that follow.

The Administrative Panel

The convention’s administrative panel would be composed of seven (seems like a good number to me) of the most well respected and experienced conservative political activists/speakers/writers we can find who would be willing to volunteer their time to this endeavor. While these men and women would, of course, be prohibited from submitting their own bill proposals for consideration by their fellow panelists, they would, however, be permitted to address the assemblage at some point prior to the floor votes, and promote up to three of the proposals accepted by the panel.

Bill Proposal Topics (tentative list)

Healthcare
Immigration & Border Security
Public Education
Social Security
Federal Tax Structure
U.S. Energy & Environmental Policy
Balanced Trade Agreements
Gun Control

Other Aspects Of The Itinerary

Aside from debating and voting on various bill proposals, I believe that a certain amount of time should be set aside at the convention to show support for America’s military troops overseas, and that any conventioneer who is currently serving in any branch of the service should be permitted to address the assemblage on any matter they choose.

In my previous article on this topic I listed several key issues to be considered at the convention. Among them were the following:

Judicial Activism And The Supreme Court
The Threat Of Terrorism And Nuclear Rogue Nations
The American Left’s Assault On Christianity
International Free Trade Agreements And America’s Manufacturing Base
The Plague Of Political Correctness
Harnessing Government Spending And Regulation
Overturning Roe V. Wade

Although they may not be among the subjects considered for formal bill proposals at the convention (since the number of subjects must be limited, due to time constraints) I believe that the above topics are of vital importance to conservatives across the United States, and should be addressed by as many prominent speakers as the event will draw.

Furthermore, like any convention, this one requires a keynote speaker, one who embodies the spirit of modern day American conservatism, and who is capable of generating considerable media coverage. Of the several possibilities I’ve considered thus far, the leading candidates for this important role are (at least in my mind) author/former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (2), author/social activist David Horowitz (3), author/former presidential candidate/former UN Ambassador Alan Keyes (4), author/legal correspondent Ann Coulter (5), and author/constitutional scholar/radio host Mark Levin (6). Of course, I welcome any suggestions that my readers might have on this matter.

As far as other speakers are concerned, I think it would be a good idea to have representatives from several right-wing activist groups such as the Christian Coalition, Citizens Against Government Waste, and the National Rifle Association address the convention on the topics of their respective specialities.

Location And Date

While no particular date has been chosen for the commencement of the convention, it has been suggested that a day in early autumn of 2007 would be a good time to hold it. As for the location, it is my considered opinion that a medium sized city in the mid-west like Kansas City, Missouri or Oklahoma City, Oklahoma should be considered, because such a place would afford people from both the west and east coasts relatively equal travel time to the event.

In closing, I want those of you reading this article to keep in mind that nothing written above is etched in stone, and that I encourage anyone who wishes to be involved in this project, at any level, to share their ideas with me. I’m sure there are a lot of red-staters out there with innovative minds who have opinions on the matter, so don’t hesitate to drop me a line at your earliest convenience at either thofab@adelphia.net or darcprynce@hotmail.com.

Well, Pinko De Mayo has come and gone, and this year’s celebration of the Bolshevik Revolution by communism’s useful idiots had new life breathed into it in the United States. Hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens and their misguided supporters decided to protest against the rule of law in our country on the one day of the year that reminds most older Americans of the genocidal policies of men like Joseph Stalin and Pol Pot.

Hundreds of businesses across the country closed their doors in deference to the wishes of America’s illegal workforce, and many teachers failed to prevent their dangerously naive students from joining demonstrations which only proved to the rest of us just how utterly foolish and immoral years of systematic liberal brainwashing has left them.

Members of the drive-by media, as Rush Limbaugh likes to call it, were perfectly giddy with all the excitement, as news trucks took up strategic positions in key cities where communist-backed organizations had promised to hold mass rallies in support of illegal workers. Referring to the events as “immigration rights protests”, most of the “mainstream” press was more than happy to promote the efforts of a loose confederation of international communists, ACLU activists, radical Muslims, and unapologetic, law-breaking foreigners.

Average American citizens could do little but sit and watch as hoards of illegals and their collaborators marched in streets across the U.S., openly mocking our immigrations laws, while politicians from Washington D.C. to Washington State either cheered on the protesters or hid from view.

The disturbing displays caused many, if not most, Americans to recoil in disgust and anger, as anti-illegal alien sentiment rose to near boiling point. Furious bloggers took to the internet to discuss potential counter-measures, including a boycott of companies that hire illegal workers, and a march on Washington D.C. later in the month. Calls for the removal from office of politicians who support any sort of amnesty proposal, have become as common in recent days as prostitution in Amsterdam, and those calls only grew in frequency and volume on Monday.

Of course, the majority of news organizations, which most folks consider (and rightly so) to be complicit in this outrageous plot to usurp the rule of law, have failed to appreciate the growing animus and distrust felt by their readers/viewers with respect to them. The routine marginalizing by the media in general of anyone who speaks out against the threat of illegal immigration, has caused many formerly non-political individuals to take sides with a variety of patriotic groups nationwide that are currently in the process of organizing retaliatory actions against the pro-illegals crowd.

As condescending leftists like California Senate Majority Leader, Gloria Romero, champion the cause of illegal aliens, and supporters of the movement continue to insult those of us who actually understand the concepts of right and wrong by calling us racists and xenophobes, conservative talk radio hosts and political columnists are hammering home the truth of the matter to their audiences.

The illegal alien situation, which was once seen by many as an unpleasant, yet largely uncorrectable problem, is now being taken very seriously by the majority of U.S. citizens, who no longer believe that stopping the flow of illegals into this country is such an insurmountable task. Tens of millions of Americans have finally had enough of their elected officials’ indifference to the alien invasion of our country, and they plan to punish those politicians in November unless radical changes are made to our border policies.

In the meantime, companies that chose to shut down production on May the 1st, or that have a history of exploiting illegal workers for profit, are being added to lists circulating throughout cyberspace, and those businesses will soon become the targets of extended boycotts by American consumers who are unwilling to forgive them for helping to fuel the fire of the most vile socio-political movement in recent U.S. history.

If you count yourself as a loyal citizen of the United States, and you’re as outraged by the recent activities of illegal aliens as so many of your fellow countrymen are, join them in what is being termed the ‘Great American Boycott’ of 2006. Find out which companies support illegal immigration (see wehirealiens.com below) and let them know that you will no longer purchase their goods or services as long as they continue down their current path.

Furthermore, be sure to inform your elected representatives that you will not be supporting their reelection campaigns if they fail in their responsibility to strictly enforce our immigration laws. The time has come to stand up and be counted, ladies and gentlemen. Don’t sit idle while millions of illegal aliens and thousands of U.S. businesses brazenly flaunt their contempt for the legitimate authority that we, the American citizenry, have bestowed upon our government. Get involved… fight back!

So I’m sitting at my computer this morning scanning the internet news websites like I do every day, when I happen upon an article in the ‘Frankfort Times’ titled “Sen. Targets Oil Cos. Over Rising Prices”. (1) The Sen. in question, it turns out, is Senator Arlen Specter (2), one of the more left-leaning, and consequently, ridiculous of the GOP’s leaders.

According to the article, Mr. Specter is pushing for a windfall profits tax on oil companies in an effort to curb rising gasoline prices. Of course, the first thing that came to mind upon reading this was WHAT A MORON, however, after a moment or two of reflection I started thinking that the Pennsylvanian Senator was probably not nearly as stupid as he supposes YOU are… and I as well.

After all, anyone who’s been in the Senate for as long as Mr. Specter, no matter how naturally dimwitted he may be, has to understand that taxing a business isn’t going to cause it to reduce its prices. If anything, it’ll just pass that increased cost onto you the consumer. Moreover, I’m also quite certain that even the biggest numbskulls in our government know that between federal and state taxes, nearly a quarter of what you and I pay at the pumps goes directly to politicians, who in turn squander it as if magical money fairies visited all our homes on a regular basis. On the other hand, only a few pennies on the dollar go to the big oil companies in actual profit.

As a matter of fact, most of the items you buy at your local mini-mart/gas station have far higher profit margins than gasoline, and few of them are taxed as much. Think about it, how much do you suppose it costs, say, a bottled water company to produce its product per gallon? Now think about how much people routinely pay for a 12 ounce plastic container of Evian, or Poland Spring water. What are those prices up to now, $1.35… more? And we’re bitching about the cost of gasoline??

Sure, American oil companies (3) (4) (5) (6) rake in tens of billions of dollars in profits every year, but that’s because they are among the largest companies in existence, employing hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of people in over 200 countries, and their products are purchased by nearly everyone in the industrialized world. Should we punish them for being successful, and if we do, aren’t we really punishing their lowest wage-earning, least protected employees?

I mean, if you think that CEO’s and other millionaire executives of large corporations are going to just bend over and take it in their wallets if we increase their taxes, then I can only wonder what life is like on your planet, because here on earth, tax burdens ALWAYS trickle down. It’s the low man on the totem pole that gets the shaft, not the head honcho, and even if that were not the case, how would punishing some corporate big-wig with tax hikes benefit anyone but the government?

Beyond that, a lot of folks out there think we should be concentrating more on the development of alternative energy sources these days, and I for one couldn’t agree more, but what are we supposed to do over the next few decades while we’re waiting around for cost-effective replacements for gas and oil to appear? I suppose we could all heat our homes with wood, and buy tiny, eggshell-reinforced cars, but that would only cause the tree-huggers of the world to rampage, and drive up the cost of everyone’s auto insurance. Either way you look at it, the environMENTALists won’t be happy, and everyone who drives a car will end up paying more money.

I’ve also heard several popular talking heads on tv and radio recently spouting off about energy conservation as a means of reducing demand, and consequently causing prices to drop, but even if everyone in this country cut back more on their consumption than they already have for an indefinite period of time, our demand as a nation would still increase in relative short order, because our population is growing by millions every year.

Now don’t get me wrong, I’m all for people using less petroleum products when they can, but let’s face facts here, there’s no way we’re going to conserve our way out of the current mess we find ourselves in unless half the people in America start riding bicycles to work for the foreseeable future.

In my opinion, which by the way, just happens to be the opinion of most U.S. citizens, the first thing we need to do is drill and refine more oil domestically… NOW! Yes, it’ll be several years before we begin to reap the benefits of increased production here at home, but so what? We’ve spent the last two decades listening to the mindless babble of environmentalists, cutting back on oil production and letting our nuclear power infrastructure rot to pieces, and look where it’s got us. Does anyone out there think that we won’t have the same problems in 2016 that we’re having right now… and probably far worse?

In spite of what members of the far left have to say about the issue, we do not have to be locked into an either/or mentality when it comes to dealing with our energy problems. The best plan is multi-faceted, and it includes (but is not limited to) conservation, alternative energy development, AND increased oil production. The one thing it should NEVER include, however, is bloated, punitive taxes on anyone!

If you ask me, and I can think of no good reason why you shouldn’t, political hacks like Arlen Specter are either complete imbeciles, or they have such utter contempt for the average American’s intellect that they honestly believe we’ll buy into their “punish the rich, and the poor will prosper” line.

That’s their credo… what’s yours?
