One thing Baskerville fails to mention is the danger same sex marriage presents to another institution that is supposedly off-limits to government: the Church. Christian churches would be menaced by claims of discrimination by homosexuals when God-fearing ministers refuse to officiate the wedding. Not long ago, A Massachusetts justice of the peace was forced to resign for this very reason. Suggesting that clergy are free from such constraints is short-sighted. Just look at the plight of Canadian ministers (some have served jail time to preaching against homosexuality), or consider the attacks the Boy Scouts have endured. Homosexual activists are well aware how vulnerable Christian churches will become if same sex marriage becomes law - more so, I fear, than the churches themselves.

B.S. No-one in Canada has been jailed for preaching against Homosexuality. It's written in the legislation. Religious freedoms are protected. If a church doesn't want to marry someone they don't have to. J.P's also don't have to as long as they find someone else who will perform a marriage. The churches are just fearmongering.
