Free Muslims on Nomination of John Roberts to Supreme Court

The Free Muslims Coalition (FMC), a national Muslim organization with 15 chapters, applauds the nomination of John G. Roberts, Jr. to serve as the next Supreme Court Justice.

The Free Muslims Coalition is very impressed with the qualifications of Judge Roberts. He is an experienced and brilliant lawyer, who graduated from Harvard Law School. His long list of accomplishments include clerking for Justice William Rehnquist, serving as Associate Counsel to President Reagan, serving on the D.C. Circuit, and arguing 39 cases before the Supreme Court. He is well known and respected for his brilliance, integrity, and fair-mindedness.

For these reasons, we urge all American Muslims and Arabs to support the nomination of Judge John Roberts to the Supreme Court. We hope that the Senate will provide a fair hearing and confirm his nomination in a timely manner, so that the Supreme Court can convene for its Fall term with all justices in place.. Judge Roberts will be a great addition to the Supreme Court.

The president of the Free Muslims Coalition, Kamal Nawash, commented "that Americans of all backgrounds need to feel that the Supreme Court will fairly judge cases that are important to them.
