The Arizona Minutemen II: Send This Message Worldwide.

In my previous Blog, The Arizona Minutemen: Why There Won’t Be Vigilanteism, I wrote precisely what Vigilanteism was in the 19th century and why it could not occur today in 2005 anywhere within the Minuteman Project of Arizona. Vigilanteism exists only in the heated rhetoric of underhanded politics and reportage.

In The Arizona Minutemen II, read the words of this great American I admired in 1960's America:

By calling attention to a well-regulated militia for the security of the Nation, and the right of each citizen to keep and bear arms, our Founding Fathers recognized the essentially civilian nature of our economy. Although it is extremely unlikely that the fears of governmental tyranny, which gave rise to the second amendment, will ever be a major danger to our Nation, the amendment still remains an important declaration of our basic military-civilian relationships, in which every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of the country. For that reason I believe the second amendment will always be important. — JOHN F. KENNEDY

The President went on to say more about this on that.

What President Kennedy was in 1962, we describe today as The Right in 2005. Everything since then has been hijacked by the Left for gain, the People be damned. This issue is merely one more example of that kind of misfeasance.

As always, the Liberal media and their accomplices want more to stick a finger in the eye of America than resolve anything. The entire issue reflects an upset of proper perspective, an upset of fair play and of good faith societal values; The Minutemen and the Americans who support them do not have to apologize to anyone for the steps taken in response to deaf governance and because-we-say-so politics.

Because The Minutemen Project is not an initiative, it is a response.

Here’s another quote:

When you sit down to negotiate on what you already have, you lose.
—REP. MARIE PARENTE

We’d best not sit down to negotiate anything about the Border. It's non-negotiable.

And so is being armed.

Yuma, Arizona wants to start up its own Minuteman Project, but "without guns" reportedly. This sort of public relations olive branch as announced isn’t only unnecessary, it’s also a sort of undermining of the Project elsewhere, no matter where it may be instituted.

When we understand that some tag-alongs to the Minutemen are setting off sensors and are documenting every single motion on video – and we know darned good and well they’re just waiting for someone to make a small mistake – you have to anticipate stealth as part of the overall personal and mission safety. The illegal entry into the country is, of course, by stealth. Everyone against the movement will be operating by stealth.

The mistake the tag-alongs make is in forgetting that the personal conduct they’re observing and capturing on tape is how the Minutemen normally behave, supervised or not. It’s called good faith best, something liberals know nothing about. And, again, it's why there won't be Vigilanteism. The guns should stay.

This Project is going to get legs, and it can’t run on giving away tools or inalienable rights in the name of cooperation when it’s inalienable rights we’re fighting to protect. And that includes the rights of those who oppose us. Is this a great country or what? Let’s keep it that way.

The Minuteman Project is rapidly restoring the concept of Militia in its proper light. When the spirit of our officials is to remain deaf or when our local assets run low, the mission of the Militia is clear: in the People, there is another long-standing remaining asset, the sovereign individuals - everyday constituents - who have always been the first line of defense.

It's time to send that message worldwide.

People have to remember that officials are appointed by the People so that the constituents can go about their personal business. It is the nature of the relationship between the sovereign individual and the executive official. It's called Liberty. Toward this, the officials’ ultimate authority comes from the People, so that individual constituents may legally, of course, come to the aid of the very officials they authorize.

". . .every citizen must be ready to participate in the defense of the country."

The Militia’s mission, then, is not to interfere with officers, as it is deliberately and dishonestly portrayed, but to back them. That the sovereign individual constituents are armed is not only essential, speaking sensibly about specific realities, but also legal. Aside from Arizona's open-carry and concealed carry law, there is also 10 U.S.C. 311(a)-(c).

For easy reference, the section is printed here:

Sec. 311. - Militia: composition and classes.

(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section 313 of title 32, under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the United States who are members of the National Guard.

(b) The classes of the militia are -

(1) The organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the Naval Militia; and

(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the Naval Militia.

In short, part (2) applies to you and me. If you’re an able-bodied citizen between certain ages, you guessed it... You’re Militia.

Media have been making fun of Liberty groups for decades, describing Militia members as playing soldier. What the media fail to understand is that the Military and Law Enforcement at all levels draw from the People as candidates, trainees, recruits and rookies, and exist purely on our authority. It is not individual Militia members playing soldier - the Militia as much as individual constituents are the real first line of defense - it is the Law Enforcement and Military who operate on our authority and not the other way around.

On our authority as individuals we may act within the law as set forth. On our authority as a body of sovereigns - voters - we are able to change policy of our appointed executives in examples such as Police car chases, choke-holds and flashlights.

Put another way, individuals have rights, governments do not.

What the media don't remember is that a Militia is authorized by United States Code almost entirely because sovereign individuals are the first line of defense.

Put another way, so much is lost when our kids are not taught United States History.

One more quote for the day:

I ask, sir, what is the militia? It is the whole people. To disarm the people is the best and most effectual way to enslave them. — George Mason, during Virginia’s Convention to Ratify the Constitution (1788)

And he ought to know.
