Liberals and The Texas Minutemen: Time For Liberals To Grow Up And Back Down.
One of the adolescent things about liberals is that they won’t accept consequences of their actions, but will hold adults, Conservatives, to answer. This is becoming more obvious every year.
The Minuteman Movement is spreading, as it should. And their mission and acceptance is becoming more obvious with every month!
California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has said that he would not obstruct the Movement’s arrival in California. For this he takes heat.
Now, Texas Governor Rick Perry says about the same thing for the Movement’s coming to Texas. For this, he, too, is taking heat.
One of the things Americans respect is this kind of courage, not only in follow-through, but in original, mature powers of discernment. Knowing the right thing to do as it resonates with the People is what makes a good executive. It’s personal integrity. Sometimes it means taking heat, something liberals don’t do well in contrast. Liberals, in contrast, simply laugh it off.
I respect Governor Schwarzenegger and Governor Perry for their standing up for the People and for their full understanding of the People.
These men, and other Republicans like them, will take the heat and will continue to earn the respect of other men, who would if they could, too. (Gang of Seven notwithstanding, of course).
Oh, wait a minute, some who would if they could can take heat, and some are. They’re called Minutemen. And that stands for both men and women who are willing to take the heat (and a lot more) for the sake of preserving our way of life, the kind of thing we expect from our executives. We’re all on the same page here.
Where liberals fail is, in part, in their refusal to see the consequences of their own acts of interference, but will hold others accountable for something as small as announcing their resisting. The Liberal mind-set cannot allow them to see how they are the cause of the problem they complain about, and their immaturity won't permit them to see how righteous the resistance to their interference is.
In the June 2nd 2005 Washington Times, with credit to their link at
http://www.washtimes.com/national/20050602-120515-3295r.htm, it was reported that U.S. Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee, Texas Democrat, had asked Governor Perry to "disinvite" the Minutemen, and told the Governor that she was concerned that the Arizona Minuteman Project had given people time to get "incensed" and was expressing concern over "deadly violence" when the October Texas Vigil was due to begin.
[Author’s Note (and Plug): In my book, I point out the liberal tactic of mischaracterizing righteous response as being in anger or with excessive force. It’s an old tactic by now, and it is underhanded, misleading to those seeking information on the issue. When the Dems resort to such off-topic attacks as they do, it soon becomes clear that they don’t really have the stronger argument. They’re wrong on this one, for instance, because they have been the cause of it all; they cannot complain, therefore, about a reasonable response to unwelcome change liberals impose.]
This is the immaturity of the Left in America. It bullies and bullies, it pushes and pushes and pushes, doesn’t take No for an answer from the electorate in its unwelcome advances, then when someone even suggests a vigil to observe and report the bullying and the pushing and the illegality the Left has endorsed for decades, the Left cries foul. The double standard of the liberals is that conservatives are held to answer because liberals think of non-liberals as adults, while liberals are not held to answer because they perceive themselves as kids. What they fail to comprehend in their teenager mentalities is that the response they object to (such as the Minutemen) is a perfectly healthy and normal adult answer to their unending intrusion, provocation and the injustice of their interference when people have had enough.
Liberals mess things up creating poorer conditions, then won’t own them. When someone tries to make it right, they see themselves being squeezed out (as they should be as part of the correction process), so they squawk. Instead of on-topic discussion, liberals fly off-topic, with poor self-control and, of course, retaliation. It's all there.
Because they still see themselves as kids who can get away with things. And we’ve been letting them for too long. It's tearing the country apart.
If the Democrats are honestly concerned about some being incensed and concerned about violence, perhaps they’d better back down in the face of righteous complaint and remember where it all came from: unwelcome advances and change and resistance to it. Liberals are the cause of it all. All of it. The Minutemen have a mission entirely because the left has pushed too far in their teenage view of things, in their teen Angst and silly solutions, this need to impose change.
If the law were observed and enforced, there would be no need for citizen involvement such as the Minutemen, would there? If only the Dems could leave people alone.
The Democrats bully and push to the point of resistance from the objects of their hatred (adults and adult values, such as being free from interference), and then characterize that resistance and objection as racism, incendiary and potentially violent. (aka in anger or with excessive force.)
Well, I have to say this... That’s the Hell of it, kids. You go too far. Then, as kids, you try to wiggle out of the ownership of your actions.
Not only will the Left not admit their own responsibility in connection with this natural response to intrusion and interference, but they want to talk people out of resisting things at all.
At issue: people coming to this country in excessive numbers, so that our systems planned twenty years in advance as they usually are become inundated, choked and inefficient. Some are even shut down, as in the case of trauma centers, state services cut-backs, and even reduced border management.
Assets become strained to the limit. New crises are identified, liberals thrive. Each crisis is the offspring of an earlier crisis gleefully developed – forced – by the Left. Liberals alter the landscape for their own benefit, and the non-liberals – and it’s important to note, even those who do not identify themselves as Conservatives – simply want to be left alone, free from interference; the mission is to put things back the way it was before liberal interference that messes things up. Talk of even stopping the march of the left is met with accusations of racism and of a return to darker times.
Hyperbole? Heated rhetoric to be excused? The liberal position is, of course, a lie. A teenage, bratty lie. Whether they believe it or not, it's viciously excessive.
Also at issue is the timing, such that terrorists may enter the country among the those where are merely "seeking a better life". But then, there’s another potential crisis to bear fruit for the leftists. As long as we have problems, liberals have a sense of purpose, and they like to keep that sense of purpose alive. (As kids, they haven't yet determined a more useful sense of purpose.)
What our community planners anticipated twenty years ago is being thrown a curve ball of inundation, and when it cannot accommodate, or when we want to keep it level and manageable, it’s suddenly on our backs (let the grown-ups pay for it, right?), and not on the backs of the Left who wants only to be better understood and off the hook for its mistakes. The price is for others to pay, the electorate be damned.
Kids.
For the future credibility of the Democrat Party, the Dems need to know when to back down. Accepting the Hell of it all – that is to say, having to live with the consequences of their actions and becoming more a part of the solution, not an obstructionist furtherance of the problem – is a start, if they could see that. Their blindness to the damage they do betrays their real priorities. They want to remain kids. Angry kids. Unrighteously angry.
Not only can you not win every fight, but you should not even fight every fight. Fighting everything is a dead giveaway that it’s not really about any given issue, but only about fighting. And I have my own theory on that.
Liberals need to grow up and back down, and begin to live with the consequences of their own making or help fix them. Liberals need to back down. Not compromise, not cave in, but back down and cooperate, taking that chip off their collective shoulder, adjust their rotten attitude, and stop picking fights with everything they see.
An adult would do that.
