The Media is WRONG... again!

"Gasoline is now heading to $4 a gallon."
”
- Tim Russert
I took this picture Friday morning. Anyone hear the major networks talking about gas prices under $2.00 a gallon?

Is this Bush's fault?

As becoming increasingly usual, the mainstream media and their offshoots got it wrong again, without acknowledgement, retraction, apology, addendum, or any kind of modest correction.

Are we surprised when just a few weeks ago, they gave us all this potential doom and gloom....

"Furthermore, $3.00, $4.00, even $5.00 per gallon gas prices no longer seem out of the question," continues Coleman. "If gas prices happen to rise to $5.00 per gallon, workers can say good-bye to all of that yearly salary increase, plus more." A gas price rise to $5.00 per gallon would cost the average worker $2,384 per year, a whopping 5.9 percent of their salary.
- Dan Malachowski, Salary.com
"We could be looking at gasoline lines and $4 gas, maybe even $5 gas, if this thing does the worst it could do," said energy analyst Peter Beutel of Cameron Hanover. "This storm is in the wrong place. And it's absolutely at the wrong time," said Beutel.
- Chris Isidore, CNN/Money senior writer
Craig Smith, CEO of Swiss America Trading Corporation, said, "“$5.00 gas is just around the corner, with oil at an all time record high at roughly $60 a barrel. This is up well over 50% since this time last year. Craig is issuing a final warning, saying, "Rising oil and gas prices represent a hidden tax on EVERY American by sucking away buying power out of our consumer-based economy, which hurts middle and lower income citizens the most-- and $5 a gallon gas is not too far around the corner."
"“How does $5 a gallon for gasoline sound? Oil analysts say $5 a gallon for gasoline is certainly not out of the question."
- Lou Dobbs
"“New predictions say gas could reach five. That'’s right, $5 a gallon."
- Miles O'’Brien
"“One oil analyst is predicting $4 per gallon gasoline within two weeks, another analyst saying it could go as high as $5 a gallon."
- Paula Zahn
"“Just like after Katrina, gas prices could climb. But this time, the experts fear, it could be worse. Prices could hit a whopping $5 a gallon."
- Anderson Cooper
"“Think about this. The last four recessions we'’ve seen in this country have been preceded by very high oil prices. Well, this time around all of these refineries shut down in the Gulf of Mexico, causing some people to worry about rising costs for gasoline, $5 a gallon."”
- Carrie Lee, CNN "Daybreak"

It's aparent gas prices WILL hit $5.00 per gallon before these esteemed journalists learn how to admit when they were (are) wrong. Then again, if we can have hearings on Capitol Hill about steroids and leaks and oil prices, maybe we should have some hearings on deliberate misinformation diseminated by the media for partisan political reasons.

It would be fun to hear that liberal screech again....
